Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a chronic disease that can not be completely cured, which is characterized by the increasing of glucose level in blood or hyperglycemia. Diabetes mellitus type 2 has a deficient impact on the quality of life. The aim of this study is to determine the profile of therapeutic treatment and the quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 at Siantan Hulu Public Health Center. This research is a descriptive study with a cross sectional method using Diabetes Quality of Life Clinical Trial Questionnaire (DQLCTQ) which consists of 8 domains. The data is collected by using purposive sampling technique with 67 patients as the respondents. The result of the questionnaire is converted into numbers for scoring. The quality of life is determined to be low if the value is 59 which is obtained from the average of the quality of life total value. The quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 at Siantan Hulu Public Health Center has 16 respondents with a low quality of life (53,33%) and 14 respondents with a high quality of life (46,67%) The quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 at Siantan Hulu Public Health Center is still relatively low. The characteristics of patients with low quality of life are female, 45 years old, are at the elementary school level, do not work, and and have a widow/widower status.
