Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and identify students' level of thinking in doing questions based on Van Hiele's theory and to give an idea to teachers to be able to use learning methods in accordance with Van Hiele's level of thinking at IBNU Abbas Tarakan IT Junior High School. The method used in this research is a combination method (qualitative & qualitative) with sequential model. The research instruments used were tests on Van Hiele's geometry levels, and interview guidelines. Based on the results of the study obtained 3 students were in pre visualization or have not reached Van Hiele's thinking level, 6 students are at level 1 (visualization), 9 students are at level 2 (analysis), and 3 students are at level 3 (informal deduction). Based on interviews students still have difficulty in understanding the relationship between wakes as well as elements in geometry such as theorem, axiom, and definition. In conclusion, Van Hiele's geometry thinking level at Ibnu Abbas IT Junior High School is generally at level 2, namely the analysis stage and has not reached level 4 (informal deduction). Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the ability of early mathematics with the ability to understand mathematical concepts of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan. This type of research uses ex post facto research. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan and research samples of students of class VIII-4 by using simple random sampling. Data collection techniques using instrument the ability of early mathematics test and the ability to understand mathematical concepts test with using Pearson Correlation test data analysis. Based on the analysis results obtained by the correlation coefficient values obtained by 0.674 and the value of r = 1. So that the relationship between the two variables is a strong relationship with a positive direction. The significance value of 0,000 0.05 which means rejecting H0 and accepting H1. Thay way there is a relationship between the ability of early mathematics with the ability to understand mathematical concepts of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan.Keywords: Ability of Early Mathematics, Ability to Understand Mathematical ConceptsAbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahuihubungan kemampuan awal matematika dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian expost facto.Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan dan sampel penelitian siswa kelas VIII-4 dengan menggunakan simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan awal matematika dan tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika dengan menggunakan analisis data uji Korelasi Pearson.Beradasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh nilai nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,674 dan nilai r = 1. Sehingga hubungan kedua variabel merupakan hubungan kuat dengan arah positif. Adapun nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 0,05 yang berari tolak H0 dan terima H1. Dengan demikian ada hubungan kemampuan awal matematika dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Awal Matematika, Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematika

Abstract

This research aims to identify the student's error in the completion of real analysis using Newman Error Analysis (NEA). The type of research is qualitative descriptive. Which research subjects were 22 students of the mathematics education study program of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo at VI semesters in the 2020/2021 academic year. Data-collection techniques using written tests and interviews. Data is analyzed with reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusion. The result of the study found 4 errors made by students in answering a problem based on NEA: (1) reading, (2) comprehension, (3) transformation, (4) and process skills. This identification can be used by lecturers teaching real analysis to consider supporting the courses and designing learning systems to minimize student errors in solving problems.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe, identify and analyze students' spatial intelligence in working on geometry problems according to Van Hiele's theory. The method used in this research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan. The research instrument used was the Van Hiele geometric thinking level test and spatial ability test, interview guides and documentation. Prior to use, the test, an interview guide, was first validated. The data analysis technique will be used in 4 stages, namely collecting, reducing, presenting, and concluding all the data obtained. The results of this study are that students with high spatial intelligence (KST) are at the level of informal deductive thinking (level 3) where at this ability students are able to know the relationship between shapes. While students with moderate spatial intelligence (SCC) are at the level of analytical thinking (level 2), namely the ability to know and mention the properties of flat shapes. Students with low spatial intelligence (KSR) are at the level of visualization thinking (level 1). In conclusion, it is important for teachers to know students' abilities in learning geometry by paying attention to the level of geometric thinking, being able to use the Van Hiele Geometry learning model, increasing spatial intelligence and van Hiele levels can be done through training involving geometric media or software (geogebra). Abstract

This research was conducted to see whether the Peer Teaching method was effective in learning mathematics in class IX at SMP Negeri 4 Tarakan. This study uses a posttest-only control design with a quasi research type. The research was conducted at Tarakan 4 Public Middle School and the research population was class IX for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sampling method is Simple Random Sampling, with class IX-8 as the control class and class IX-10 as the experimental class. Data collection with description test instruments and documentation. The analysis technique uses descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis namely standard deviation and average. Then test the hypothesis using the independent sample t-test (t test). The research results obtained 4.140 > 1.672, so H0 was rejected, namely the peer teaching method was effective for class IX student learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 4 Tarakan. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi solusi siswa untuk masalah matematika di kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tarakan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dan berdasarkan metode kualitatif. Pemilihan subjek pada penelitian ini dengan menggunakan purposive sampling yaitu dengan berbagai pertimbangan. Pertimbangan dengan mellihat skor angket kemandirian belajar dan dipilih sebanyak 4 subjek yaitu 2 subjek dalam kategori kemandirian tingkat tinggi dan 2 subjek dalam kategori kemandirian tingkat rendah. Pengumpulan data melalui pedoman wawancara, kuesioner, dan tes. Teknik analisis yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan yang menarik. Pemeriksaan kualitas informasi yang digunakan adalah teknik triangulasi dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa yang memiliki kategori kemandirian belajar tinggi mampu menyelesaikan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dengan baik dan memenuhi seluruh indikator pemecahan masalah (2) siswa dengan kategori kemandirian belajar yang rendah kesulitan dalam memecahkan masalah dan memenhui hanya sebagian indikator dari pemecahan masalah matematis.
