Abstract

Studi ini menguji pengaruh moderasi efisiensi atas hubungan diversifikasi dan kinerja perusahaan-perusahaan non keuangan yang tercatat dalam Bursa Efek Indonesia dari tahun 2013 hingga 2017 di Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh bukti empiris atas efek moderasi efisiensi dalam hubungan strategi diversifikasi dan kinerja perusahaan terutama dengan banyaknya hasil penelitian yang berbeda terkait pengaruh strategi diversifikasi, juga belum pernah digunakannya efisiensi sebagai variabel moderasi di Indonesia. Metode penelitian menggunakan regresi linear berganda dengan diversifikasi terdiri atas diversifikasi related dan diversifikasi unrelated, serta pengukuran efisiensi menggunakan Data Envelopment Analysis.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi diversifikasi related maupun unrelated tidak mempengaruhi kinerja perusahaan secara signifikan. Di sisi lain, efisiensi tidak memoderasi hubungan antara strategi diversifikasi terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Namun, temuan dalam penelitian ini mengindikasikan adanya crossover interaction (Baron dan Kenny, 1986) antara variabel efisiensi dan diversifikasi. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hubungan yang tidak signifikan antara diversifikasi dan kinerja tetapi, adanya hubungan signifikan antara efisiensi dan kinerja, disertai variabel interaksi yang berhubungan signifikan terhadap kinerja. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, penelitian selanjutnya sebaiknya meneliti pengaruh moderasi diversifikasi terhadap hubungan antara efisiensi dan kinerja. Hasil penelitian juga diharapkan dapat berkontribusi bagi teori terkait strategi diversifikasi serta digunakan dalam pengambilan keputusan perusahaan dan investor. Limitasi penelitian ini terdiri dari kurangnya literatur yang membahas strategi diversifikasi sebagai variabel moderasi serta pengukuran diversifikasi menggunakan variabel biner.

Abstract

Based on the Agency Theory, management (agent) is a party that is trusted by shareholders (principals) to manage the company and maximize shareholders’ value (Jensen and Meckling, 1976). In practice, conflicts between shareholders and managers are unavaidable because of differences in interests and information asymmetry called Agency Problem. One way to minimize agency problem is by applying Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) which gives rights to company’s employees to own company’s share. Through ESOP, employees are expected to improve the performance and value of the company due to their stock ownership. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the implementation of the ESOP program on company financial performance especially profitability as measured by ROE (Return on Equity) and ROA (Return on Assets). This study analyzes 62 listed companies in Indonesia adopting ESOP for the first time over 2009-2016. By using panel data regression method, the results of the study show that ESOP program has a significant negative effect on the profitability of the company.

Abstract

Since December 2012, the Central Bank of Indonesia has been grouping banks into four classes based on the size of core capital requirement, namely Buku 1, Buku 2, Buku 3 and Buku 4. These categories primarily determine the scope of banks’ business activities. This research aimed to identify the determinants of banks’ profitability in the Buku 3, Buku 4, and the combination of Buku 3 and Buku 4 categories. The data sample was 27 conventional commercial banks consisting of 23 banks from Buku 3 and 4 banks from Buku 4 listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) from 2009 to 2018. By applying multiple linear regressions to panel data, the results showed that net interest margin (NIM) positively affected profitability of the banks in Buku 3, Buku 4, as well as Buku 3 and Buku 4 category. Moreover, operating expense to operating income ratio (BOPO) and non-performing loan (NPL) negatively affected profitability of those banks. However, loan to deposit ratio (LDR) and capital adequacy ratio (CAR) was shown to have negative relationships with profitability only for banks in Buku 4. Accordingly, this study finds that banks in different sizes of core capital category have different factors affecting profitability in the Indonesian banking sector.

Abstract

Sesuai dengan Peraturan Otoritas Jasa Keuangan sejak tahun 2016 industri perbankan telah menerapkan manajemen risiko bersama-sama dengan penerapan tata kelola bagi bank umum. Bertolak dari keinginan mengetahui hubungan antara kualitas manajemen risiko dan kinerja keuangan bank penelitian ini diadakan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif menggunakan data finansial dan non finansial Bank Umum yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia dari tahun 2018-2022, dengan sumber utamanya adalah Laporan Tahunan bank. Perbedaan antara masa sebelum dan setelah pandemi COVID-19 juga diteliti. Secara keseluruhan diperoleh 36 sampel perusahaan bank yang layak diteliti, yang diseleksi dengan teknik purposive sampling dan melibatkan total 180 data observasi. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa secara praktis variabel penyusun kualitas manajemen risiko berkaitan dengan tata kelola dan budaya tidak menunjukan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja keuangan bahkan beberapa variabel berpengaruh negatif. Temuan ini menyarankan bahwa penerapan manajemen risiko memang dimaksudkan untuk memitigasi risiko dan tidak berhubungan langsung dengan kinerja keuangan bank.

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to explore the application of Reverse Mentoring to technology mastery in a bank. The study wanted to find out how effective Reverse Mentoring is in helping technology mastery? This is interesting because unlike conventional mentoring, in Reverse Mentoring, the mentoring process is carried out by younger and junior mentors, to older and higher-ranking mentees. In the Reverse Mentoring process, young people are given strategic roles and receive support from the organization to provide mentoring to older people. This study uses a qualitative approach by conducting interviews through purposive sampling. Informants are people involved in the formulation to execution of Reverse Mentoring and users of this program. Thematic analysis was conducted to classify the data obtained. The results showed that Reverse Mentoring is effective in helping technology mastery in the Bank.Abstrak : Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan Reverse Mentoring terhadap penguasaan teknologi di sebuah bank. Penelitian ingin mengetahui seberapa efektif Reverse Mentoring dalam membantu penguasaan teknologi? Ini menarik karena berbeda dengan mentoring konvensional, dalam Reverse Mentoring, proses  mentoring dilakukan oleh mentor yang lebih muda dan junior, terhadap mentee yang lebih tua serta lebih tinggi secara jabatan. Dalam proses Reverse Mentoring, anak muda diberikan peran strategis dan memperoleh dukungan dari organisasi untuk memberikan mentoring kepada yang lebih tua. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara melalui purposive sampling. Informan adalah orang yang terlibat dalam perumusan hingga eksekusi Reverse Mentoring serta user dari program ini. Analisis tematik dilakukan untuk mengklasifikasikan data yang didapat. Hasilnya, Reverse Mentoring efektif dalam membantu penguasaan teknologi di Bank.

Abstract

This study aims to see how far the implementation of coaching in major banks in Indonesia. These banks were chosen because of their great influence on the Indonesian economy. This study is interesting because according to its purpose, coaching will be able to trigger individual performance that will have an impact on organizational performance. Although until now there has been no single agreement on the definition of coaching, the coaching methods used in these banks are similar. This study uses a qualitative approach by conducting interviews through purposive sampling. Informants are people who play a very important role in planning, implementing and evaluating the coaching that is carried out. Thematic analysis was carried out to classify the data obtained. As a result, there are differences among these banks in carrying out the coaching process. The benefit of this study is that we can find out the path that can be used to optimize the coaching process in order to form a coaching culture.

Abstract

Nowadays firms are being confronted with a very different kind of urgency situation than they have ever encountered before. The demand to maximize profit now comes along with a call for social responsibility and the effort to minimize the effect of the climate change. Still, there is not a single text-book on Strategic Management that mentions that the “urgency” management process is more appropriate than the “strategy” management process. Most of the textbook still identify Strategic Management with the strategy management process based on the uniformed steps: “Strategic Analysis, Strategy Formulation, Strategy Implementation, and Strategy Evaluation”. However, in reality, the number of firms that have failed to implement strategy keeps rising. To overcome the limitation of the strategy management process we need the urgency management process. Literature study has identified that there is urgency behind every strategy. The conducted case study research has succeeded in revealing the abovementioned urgency management process. The theory of urgency management process suggests that by managing the seven forces that generate the urgency the strategic leaders can generate the proven strategies to overcome the urgency.
