Abstract

Based on the results, it is found that the philosophy of tasyri 'polygamy in Islam requires the dimension of ontology, epistemology, and axiology to synergize between the historical texts and the historical context so that polygamy becomes a Shari'a that brings benefit to mankind either by do it or by leave it behind. The application of Islamic Law Philosophy to polygamy rules according to Government Regulation number 10 Year 1983 jo Government Regulation number 45 Year 1990 Chapter 4 2nd paragraph on the prohibition of Civil Servants of women to become second/third/fourth wives indicates that shows a law enforcement that in the dimensions of ontology, epistemology and axiology of Islamic law supports its enforcement along with the mission of justice and the benefit of mankind brought by the teachings of Islam itself. mplication of this research is the Philosophy of Islamic Law which is a legal philosophy consisting of three frameworks namely ontology, epistemology, and axiology has provided a comprehensive philosophical and juridical picture of tasyri 'polygamy in Islam and the application of Government Regulation number 10 Year 1983 jo Government Regulation number 45 Year 1990 Chapter 4 2nd paragraph on the prohibition of Civil Servant women become second/third/fourth wife.

Abstract

The practice of walīmah infiṣāl (segregated wedding receptions) as a symbol of religious identity in Bone Regency often confronts established traditional marriage cultures, creating potential cultural and religious conflicts in public spaces. This study explores strategies to address these tensions by utilising Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah’s framework for legal change. The research employs a qualitative approach, including normative-juridical analysis and a case study method, in Bone Regency. Data were gathered through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with 20 key informants, including religious scholars (ulama), academics and community leaders, conducted during the field research period. The study identifies three primary conflict resolution strategies used by the community: (1) a preaching strategy to educate on ethical dress and adornment; (2) a tolerance strategy based on recognising diverse schools of thought; and (3) a dialogue strategy to build consensus and practical compromises. Furthermore, three adaptive role models are proposed: (1) a combined model featuring a three-lane seating arrangement (male, female and family) without a physical partition; (2) a modified traditional model incorporating ethical guidance and discouraging monetary donations; and (3) an adapted walīmah infiṣāl model that maintains separation while providing designated spaces for family socialisation. Theoretically, this research demonstrates that Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah’s principles, particularly the al-jam‘u wa al-taufīq (reconciliation) method, provide a constructive framework for harmonising religious mandates in texts with the socio-cultural benefits of local traditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic ethical values into counseling as an approach to resolving marital conflicts. The research employs a normative literature study method by examining various sources related to Islamic counseling, Islamic ethics, and family conflict. The findings indicate that Islamic counseling serves not only as a psychological assistance process but also as a means of spiritual and moral guidance grounded in Islamic teachings. Ethical values such as honesty, trustworthiness, justice, patience, compassion, responsibility, and consultation (shūrā) constitute the primary principles in helping couples understand the roots of conflict, regulate emotions, improve communication, and reach fair and constructive solutions. The integration of these values makes Islamic counseling more comprehensive, as it focuses not only on conflict resolution but also on fostering harmonious and sustainable family relationships. Therefore, Islamic counseling plays a strategic role in strengthening family resilience and promoting household harmony.
