Abstract

A community service project has been implemented in Kepling V, Tanah Seribu District, with the aim of increasing women's understanding of entrepreneurship. One such project involved the introduction of dishwashing soap made using off-the-shelf components. The aim of this community service project is to present dishwashing soap making as a potential business venture. Purchasing equipment and supplies, making dish soap, collaborating with the Head of Environment V of Tanah Seribu Village, counseling and evaluation were the research procedures carried out. The mothers who took part in this exercise expressed their interest in launching a company that produces dishwashing soap.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is a mathematical science that continues to grow and develop, because cultural influences make learning mathematics no longer boring. Ethnomathematics has become a trend in the field of educational culture, apart from that, ethnomathematics also preserves the existence of cultural values in the future. This research aims to describe the exploration of the decorative variety of Malay deli. In Malay Deli culture there are knick-knacks as Malay Deli decorations, such as tepak betel, balai, and pending. The results of this research showed that mathematical concepts were found in the Malay Deli Decorative Variety. This means that Tepak Sirih, Balai, and Pending can be used as teaching aids in mathematics learning. The mathematical concepts contained in this research are the concept of flat shapes and spatial shapes, namely trapezoids on tepak betel and balai, rectangles on tepak betel, balai, as well as pockets on the kekak musang shirt, circles on the circumference of the head for climbers, as well as the concept of prisms. with an isosceles trapezoid base on the betel palm.

Abstract

This study tries to find out if using the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model can improve the learning motivation and math problem-solving skills of eighth-grade students at MTs Akbar Insan Cendikia during the 2024/2025 school year. The study used a Quasi-Experiment method with a pre-test and post-test design that included both an experimental group and a control group. A total of 60 students were chosen through a purposive sampling method, with class VIII-A serving as the experimental group and VIII-B as the control group, each having 30 students. The tools used to collect data were a questionnaire to measure learning motivation and a test to assess problem-solving abilities. The data was analyzed using a t-test after checking for pretest scores, normality, and homogeneity. The results showed that the CPS model had a strong impact on increasing students' learning motivation, as the t-value obtained was 2.472, which is higher than the t-value from the table (2.002). It also had a significant effect on improving students' math problem-solving skills, with a t-value of 2.250, again higher than the t-value from the table (2.002). These findings show that the Creative Problem Solving model can be a good and effective method to enhance math learning in secondary schools.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran group investigation berbantuan aplikasi android terhadap Habits of Mind matematis mahasiswa. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan dengan jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian meliputi seluruh mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika di salah satu Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Medan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini melibatkan mahasiswa prodi pendidikan matematika semester III sebanyak 38 orang pada kelas eksperimen dan 40 orang pada kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah non tes berupa angket Habits of Mind matematis dalam skala likert pada matakuliah trigonometri. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik inferensial yaitu uji-t. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara Habits of Mind matematis mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran group investigation berbantuan aplikasi android dengan Habits of Mind matematis mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran langsung (klasikal). Simpulan penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran group investigation berbantuan aplikasi android terhadap sikap Habits of Mind matematis mahasiswa. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran group investigation berbantuan aplikasi android ini dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif bagi dosen mata kuliah trigonometri dalam meningkatkan sikap Habits of Mind matematis mahasiswa. AbstractThis study aims to analyze the effect of group investigation learning assisted by Android application on students' Mathematical Habits of Mind. The study follows a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental research. The research design was implemented by using a pre-test and post-test. The research population includes the students of Mathematics Education at one of the universities in Medan. The sample in this study involved 38 students of the third-semester mathematics education program in the experimental class and 40 students in the control class who were selected by cluster random sampling. The instrument used was a non-test in the form of a mathematical Habits of Mind questionnaire on a Likert scale in the trigonometry module. The results of data analysis show a significant value of so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means there is a significant difference between the mathematical Habits of Mind of students who were taught with the group investigation learning model assisted by the android application and the mathematical Habits of Mind of students who were taught by direct learning (classical learning method). The study concludes that there is an influence of the group investigation learning model assisted by the android application on the students' mathematical Habits of Mind attitudes. Therefore, the group investigation learning assisted by this android application can be an alternative for the trigonometry module in improving students' mathematical Habits of Mind attitudes.

Abstract

Abstrak:Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbedaam peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan keterampilan sosial siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STADdengan siswa yang diberi pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan model kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok pre test-post test control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini meliputi seluruh siswa dari salah satu SMP swasta yang berada di Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas VIII sebanyak 30 orang pada kelas eksperimen dan 30 orang pada kelas kontrol yang diambil secara acak menggunakan cluster random sampling. Jenis data dalam penelitian ini adalah data kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang berbentuk essay test dan angket keterampilan sosial siswa dalam skala likert pada mata pelajaran matematika. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik inferensial menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai sig = 0.00001 < α = 0,05 sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan sikap keterampilan sosial yang diperoleh siswa antara pembelajaran kooperatif tipeSTAD dengan pembelajaran langsung. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan sikap keterampilan sosial siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran kooperatif tipeSTAD lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran langsung. Kata Kunci : Pemecahan Masalah Matematis, Keterampilan Sosial, Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STAD Abstract:The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in the increase in problem-solving abilities and social skills of students who are taught by cooperative learning type STAD with students who are given direct learning. This research is a type of quantitative research using a quasi-experimental model with a pre-test-post-test control group design. The population in this study included all students from one of private junior high school in Percut Sei Tuan. The sample in this study involved 30 class VIII students in the experimental class and 30 people in the control class who were taken randomly using cluster random sampling. The type of data in this research is quantitative data. The instruments used to obtain the data in this study were a test of mathematical problem-solving abilities in the form of an essay test and a questionnaire for students' social skills on a Likert scale in mathematics. Data were analyzed using inferential statistics using t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, the value of sig = 0.00001 <α = 0.05 so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is a significant difference in the increase in mathematical problem-solving abilities and attitudes of social skills obtained by students between cooperative learning type STAD and direct learning. Therefore, it can be concluded that the average mathematical problem-solving ability and the attitude of social skills of students who get STAD type cooperative learning is significantly higher than students who receive direct learning. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menulis, merancang, dan mengembangkan bahan ajar pada mata kuliah algoritma pemrograman. Produk diharapkan dapat digunakan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa sebagai sumber belajar untuk kegiatan perkuliahan pada program studi pendidikan matematika. Studi ini dilakukan dengan metode Research & Development (R&D) untuk menghasilkan produk tertentu melalui proses pengembangan. Subjek pada penelitian ini hanya terbatas pada 6 orang mahasiswa semester III Prodi Pendidikan Matematika Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan UIN Sumatera Utara Medan. Proses pengembangan materi pendidikan yang digunakan menggunakan model 4D meliputi pendefenisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop), dan pendistribusian (disseminate). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi ahli dan angket respon mahasiswa. Berdasarkan penilaian terhadap produk pengembangan, hasil validasi oleh ahli materi menunjukkan persentase penilaian sebesar 92,10% dengan kategori sangat valid, hasil validasi oleh ahli bahasa menunjukkan persentase penilaian sebesar 93,75% dengan kategori sangat valid, dan hasil validasi oleh ahli media dan desain pembelajaran menunjukkan persentase penilaian sebesar 97,5% dengan kategori sangat valid. Selanjutnya, hasil penyebaran angket respon terhadap bahan ajar yang dikembangkan menunjukkan skor rata-rata 94,58% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar algoritma pemrograman dapat dikategorikan sangat valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. AbstractThe purpose of this study is to write, design, and develop teaching materials in the programming algorithm module. The product is expected to be used by lecturers and students as a learning resource for lecturing activities in mathematics education study programs. This study was conducted using the Research & Development (R&D) method to produce certain products through a development process. The subjects in this study were limited to six third-semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Sumatera Utara Medan. The process of developing educational materials follows the 4D model, namely defining, designing, developing, and distributing. The instruments used were expert validation sheets and questionnaires filled out by students. Based on the assessment of product development, the results of validation by material experts show a percentage of 92.10% with a very valid category, validation results by linguists show a percentage of 93.75% with a very valid category, and results of validation by media and design experts learning shows an assessment percentage of 97.5% with a very valid category. Furthermore, the results of distributing response questionnaires to the developed teaching materials show an average score of 94.58% which is considered in the very practical category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that programming algorithm teaching materials can be categorized as very valid and practical for use in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model with a STEM approach on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in SPLDV material. This study used a quasi-experimental approach with a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects were eighth-grade students at MTs Swasta Lab IKIP Al-Wasliyah Medan, divided into two classes: an experimental class and a control class, each consisting of 26 students. The experimental class was taught using the PBL model with a STEM approach, while the control class used a conventional learning model. The instrument used was a mathematical problem-solving ability test. The results showed that the average posttest score for the experimental class was 73.08, while the control class was 59.62. The results of the Independent Sample t-Test show that the value of ????ℎ???????????????????? = 3.341 is greater than ???????????????????????? = 2.009 with a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05, so that H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the application of the Problem Based Learning model with the STEM approach on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.
