Abstract

Objective of this research were to know the tolerance rate of common carp to liquid waste of sasirangan industries, effect of liquid waste of sasirangan industries to common carp mortality , water quality media, and common carp gills under exposures in 96 hours. Method in this research was Static Bioassay.  Tolerance Limit Media (TLM) or Lethal Concentration 50 % (LC50) in 96 hours used to determine of common carp tolerance rate with toxicity test.   Before toxicity test, preliminary test be done for determination of  upper and lower limit concentration. Completely randomize design with 5 treatments and 3 replicates was used in this research.  Application of liquid waste concentration as the treatment was K without liquid waste (0%), A (4,5%), B (5,5%), C (6,5%), and D (7,5%).  The data analyzed by using Analysis of Variance (Anova), and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT).          Result of the research showed that tolerance rate of common carp to liquid waste (LC50-96 hours) was in concentration 4,9%.  Mortality rate was 0%; 33,33% and 76,66% for treatment K, A, and B respectively, but for treatment C and D reaches 100 %.    Anova and DMRT result indicated that liquid waste of sasirangan industries had significant effect (P< 0,05) to mortality rate of common carp.  Liquid waste also affect  water quality media such as temperature, pH, BOD, COD, NH3, Zn, and fenol, all of the parameters increasingly, except DO get decrease.  Based of histological analyze, liquid waste had impact to the gills. The  higher the liquid waste concentration makes the higher the damage rate.

Abstract

Danau Purun, Danau Jalan Pangen and Danau Kamipang are some of lakes located in Kamipang Sub-district, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan. Those lakes are the places to make a living for local people in fulfilling their needs, especially of fish, which is still conducted effectively. However, the people generally tend to desire the business pattern directly giving the yield like capturing fish by using electricity and potassium. The excessive fish capturing business results in the decline of fish population. The objectives of the inventory were to find out the description of how many species of fish population which were alive or survived, and to analyze the water quality and aquatic plants as the supporting capacity of lake waters. The sample collections employed sampling methods on each lake, which were conducted in the morning and afternoon. The instruments and media were gill nets, fishing nets, lalangit, bubu and ancau. The fish sample and alcohol were 70% and 95%. The fish was identified and processed in tabulation. The water quality was measured by applying Horiba Water Checker U-10, Secchi dish and Laboratory Test.

Abstract

Purpose of this research was to know primary productivity rate, concentration of some parameters like as physical, chemical, and biology, and analyze of relationship about physic and chemical parameters to primary productivity rates Riam Kanan river, Awang Bangkal village. Method of the research was survey method, as descriptive research to describe present condition about water quality from the parameters aspect that supported aquaculture activity. Result of this research that primary productivity of Riam Kanan waters, Awang Bangkal village classified poor of nutrition substance (lower productivity).  Some of physical parameters (temperature, brightness, and turbidity), chemical parameters (DO, Phosphate, Fe, Nitrate, Mn and oil) were on tolerance level for aquaculture except BOD based on Government Regulation No.82 year 2001 and Shout Kalimantan Governor Regulation No.05 year 2007. Diversity and uniformity indeks of plankton showed that Riam Kanan rivers Awang Bangkal village classified moderate  until good polluted category.  Relation among water quality parameters with primary productivity rates was not significant in rainy or clear weather day condition.
