Abstract

The implementation of regional autonomy requires the division of governmental functions between the center and the regions, one of the aspects which is a matter between the center and the regions is education. Madrasah as a formal educational institution should receive attention from the government, both the Central Government and local governments, but the problem is that madrasah are institutions under the auspices of the Ministry of Religion, while in the context of autonomy there is a matter that becomes the authority of the central government, namely religious aspects . So that in the course of madrasah are often identified with religious issues, whereas when viewed from the other side of the madrasah is still an educational institution.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Haji Ya'qub (PPHY) Lirboyo City of Kediri is one of the Islamic boarding schools that internalizes character values ​​in everyday life in pesantren. For example, religious character is embedded in the soul of the santri through congregational prayers, istighotsah, interpretation studies, and others. What also made the writer interested in making PPHY Lirboyo as a research location, this cottage is located in an urban environment. We agree that a hedonic lifestyle affects a lot of urban residents. Further research is needed on this matter. In addition, most of the students who stay in it also study public schools. This is interesting, because it has the potential to cause friction. How the respect for the kyai who is so great in the cottage environment is contrasted with the appearance of the teachers in public schools. How to limit gadgets when students are in the cottage environment, clash with conditions at school, where they are free to access gadgets, no matter how sophisticated. So questions such as whether external relationships can affect the internalization process of character values ​​in the cottage environment are interesting to be investigated further.

Abstract

The digital generation is a group of ages who from an early age have accessed and utilised digital technology as part of their daily lives (digital native), including influencing teaching and learning practices. This generation has unique characteristics such as a realistic attitude, has a high tolerant spirit, prefers to work together rather than receive orders from superiors, thinks pragmatically in solving the problems it experiences, is independent, assertive, emotional, intellectually expressive, has high curiosity, by questioning everything, innovative, lifelong learning. This certainly requires teachers to have competencies that are in accordance with the needs of the learners to be able to achieve the expected learning objectives.

Abstract

Learning motivation has an important role in educational success, because it influences students' attitudes and behavior in the learning process. This research aims to identify strategies that can increase students' learning motivation, especially the digital generation, which has different characteristics compared to previous generations. This research uses a library research approach with data collection techniques through library research and documentation. The data collected was analyzed using the content analysis method. The research results show that the digital generation has characteristics such as high digital skills, pragmatic attitudes, and a desire to gain recognition. Learning motivation in the digital generation can be influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors, which can be strengthened by providing rewards, healthy competition, and the use of appropriate learning methods and media. This research contributes to the development of more effective learning strategies in increasing learning motivation in the digital era. It is hoped that these findings can help educators in designing more relevant approaches to facing challenges in education today.

Abstract

Effective communication in learning is key to enhancing the quality of the teaching and learning process. However, various communication barriers often hinder interactions between teachers and students, making it challenging to achieve learning objectives. This article aims to examine the role of communication in the educational context, with a focus on teacher-student interactions. The study employs a library research approach to analyze relevant literature. The findings indicate that effective communication encompasses openness, empathy, supportiveness, positive attitudes, and equality, all of which contribute to creating an optimal learning environment. Open communication models, such as dialogical and persuasive approaches, can help students better understand learning materials. Additionally, the utilization of information technology and learning media enhances the success of communication in education. By paying attention to factors such as the communicator, the communicant, and the message, teachers are expected to create an interactive learning environment that supports the achievement of educational goals.
