Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul Peningkatan Mahasiswa Membuat Proposal Melalui Direct Learning Model (Studi pada Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris STKIP Usman Safri Kutacane). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan siswa untuk membuat proposal setelah belajar langsung di lapangan pada mata kuliah Research and Language Teaching. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa untuk membuat proposal penelitian melalui model pembelajaran langsung. Proses pelaksanaan dilaksanakan secara bertahap dalam penelitian ini. Prosedur dimulai dari (1) rencana tindakan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi, dan (4) refleksi. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan terjadi secara signifikan pada kemampuan siswa untuk membuat proposal penelitian melalui model pembelajaran langsung dengan rata-rata tingkat keberhasilan 91, 57%. Ada peningkatan kemampuan siswa melaksanakan tugas membuat proposal penelitian pada bagian bahasan proposal penelitian. Bagian Bab I Pendahuluan, 90,36% siklus pertama, siklus II meningkat 91,57, dan siklus ketiga maksimal 91 upaya, 57%. Kemampuan mahasiswa melaksanakan tugas membuat proposal penelitian di Bab II Ulasan Teori / Reader, siklus pertama 50, 6%, siklus II telah meningkat secara signifikan 90, 36%, dan pada siklus III juga meningkat untuk 91, 57%. Kemampuan siswa melaksanakan tugas membuat proposal penelitian di Bab III bagian Metode, siklus pertama 18, 07%, siklus II, peningkatan yang signifikan 83, 13%, dan siklus ketiga lebih baik 91, 57%

Abstract

This research aims to know the ability of the respondents in the VIII Class of SMPN 1 Badar in writing descriptive text and difficulties in writing descriptive text. The research employed qualitative research methods to find out what respondents’ challanges in writing descriptive text. The particpants of this reseacrh were 123 respondents which using Krejcie and Morgan. This research using test to see the respondents’ ability in writing descriptive text. The research data was collected through test with using rubrics; content, organization, grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics. The result of the data showed that many factors cause students to experience ptoblems in writing, especially in writing descriptive text. The average 45,02 of total respondents’ ability that indicated that only few of the respondents understood about the descriptive text. There were only 3 respondents who got the highest scores and the scores were 75 and 71,25. And only one respondents who got the score 75 from the total sampling were 123. It means that only 0,81% respondents have achieved the school KKM score of 75. However, there were 24 respondents who got the lowest scores and the scores were 32,5. Respondents have a low ability to write a descriptive text. Most respondents do not understand about how to write descriptive text and still confusing how to make it into English.This research found that each respondents had a different ability in writing descriptive text. This suggested that teacher could improve their teaching skill in the descriptive text in an interesting way.

Abstract

The objective of this research to know how was level the students’ interest in learning english at the xi class in SMA Negeri 1 lawe bulan in the academic year 2020/2021. The population of this research are 78 students where the researcher used total sampling where 78 students become sample in this research. This research used qualitative descritive. It employed Questionnaire as instruments. The questionnaire consist 30 item and divided 4 indicators. The result of this research showed from the students’ answer in the questionnaires. From the calculation from 4 indicators, first, it is feeling of pleasure 63% it was category High, second, students interest 64% it was category High, the third, Acceptance or Attention 59% it was category High Enough and the last, students participation 51% it was category High Enough. Then for measure students’ interest in learning englsih the total score achieved multiplied by 100% the shared with the maximum score. The result of the calculation showed the percentage of students interest in learning english which is 59,82% it was category High Enough.
