Abstract

Abstract

The navigation system is one of the main components required on mobile robots for obstacle avoidance. One application of the navigation system on robots is by using the HC SR04 ultrasonic sensor. The HC SR04 ultrasonic sensor can detect various types of obstacles around it by measuring the distance between the sensor and the objects. To achieve good results, ultrasonic sensors are used to measure the distance of obstacles on the left, front, and right sides of the robot. The mobile robot used is a wheeled robot designed with a differential wheel steering system powered by a DC motor actuator. An Arduino Nano is used as the control system for the mobile robot obstacle avoidance, employing the fuzzy logic controller method as a problem-solving control system methodology that is suitable for implementation in the system, determining the robot's turning angle The variables used to determine the turning angle are the distances measured by the left, front, and right sensors. With this distance database, a decision tree is generated from the training process using the backtracking algorithm. The decision tree contains rules for the robot's turning angles, specifically 30°, 60°, and 90° to the left and right. The testing process is conducted by applying the decision tree rules to the robot, then operating the robot at a certain speed on a wall obstacle course with predetermined turning angles. Through testing results on the mobile robot obstacle avoidance, an accuracy of 90% is achieved for the robot's turning angle

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between education investment and labor productivity in Indonesia using panel data from 5 provinces during the period of 2021-2023 with a two-way fixed effects model. The main findings indicate that education investment has a positive and significant effect on productivity, with an optimal time lag of 2 years. Vocational education has the highest return on investment (ROI) at 12.7% compared to general education at 8.3%. The student-teacher ratio has a negative impact if it exceeds 1:20, especially in underdeveloped areas, while education infrastructure has a positive effect, reinforced by digitalization (+23% moderating effect). Spatial analysis shows disparities in productivity across regions, with the elasticity of education investment in Java-Bali (0.45) being higher than in Eastern Indonesia (0.28). The productivity gap between DKI Jakarta and Papua reached 1.96 times in 2023. Policy implications include more targeted allocation of education budgets, optimization of teacher distribution, and development of vocational education infrastructure. This study also recommends a performance-based funding formula. Theoretically, this research contributes to the development of an educational production function model specific to Indonesia, provides empirical evidence of the threshold effect of education investment, and offers a comparative analysis of ROI. Limitations of the study include a limited scope of informal sector data and the use of proxy variables for teacher quality. These findings are relevant for national education policy and suggest further research that integrates micro-level data and indicators of technology adoption.

Abstract

This research examines the dual role of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) as business entities and agents of national development. The study analyzes how SOEs balance profit orientation with social responsibility in carrying out their function as a state instrument in economic development. Through a literature review approach and document analysis of several SOEs in Indonesia, the research reveals the dynamic relationship between commercial objectives and social missions. The results indicate that SOEs face dilemmas in balancing business efficiency with the public service obligations, while corporate governance emerges as a key factor in optimizing both roles. The research concludes that clear regulatory frameworks and effective monitoring mechanisms are necessary to ensure SOEs can optimally fulfill their dual fuctions.
