Abstract

Every manufacturing company must have experiencing building a layout. Fred.E Meyers has stated that only death and taxes are certain, there exist a third certainty-a plant layout will change, thus many methods to generate layout are established and each has its own purposes and benefits. This research focused on the design of manufacturing facilities supported by in-depth analysis of Assembly process design with a high stresses on the Systematical Layout Planning ( SLP) and Flow Analysis method to facilitate an outcome of layout accordingly to the system needs. This is a real case study conducts with an objective of generating a recommendation layout for Home Appliances Company specifically for television plant

Abstract

Abstract

Accurate demand forecasting plays a critical role in inventory management and production planning, particularly in the manufacturing of heavy-duty filter products, where customer order patterns are influenced by seasonal and external factors. This study proposes a machine learning–based forecasting framework to predict incoming customer orders using structured sales data. The analysis focuses on the 2021–2025 period, during which demand behavior was observed to be more stable compared to previous years. The study evaluates the effects of feature engineering and feature selection on forecast accuracy, with special attention to time-based, seasonal, and external economic variables. Random Forest, LightGBM, and Linear Regression models were developed and their performance was assessed using metrics such as Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), MAPE, and R2 score. Experimental results show that the inclusion of seasonal and exogenous features significantly enhances model performance, particularly for item types with pronounced cyclical trends. Furthermore, the study conducts hypothesis testing to assess the statistical impact of engineered features and model types on forecast accuracy. The findings demonstrate the applicability of machine learning in industrial forecasting scenarios, offering a replicable and scalable approach to data-driven decision making in procurement and inventory planning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to design an LLM-powered chatbot that can assist small businesses in their HR business process, specifically to document knowledge. Employing the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology, the research progresses through problem identification, solution design, artifact development, demonstration, and evaluation phases. The proposed chatbot artifact is evaluated using the Retrieval Augmented Generation Assessment (RAGA) framework for technical performance and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) for user acceptance. RAGA evaluation demonstrates strong performance, with average scores of 0.95 for context recall, 0.98 for response relevancy, and 1.00 for faithfulness, indicating the chatbot successfully maintains conversational focus and adheres to design specifications. UTAUT results reveal positive user acceptance, particularly in effort expectancy (average 3.30) and facilitating conditions (average 4.08), though employees continue preferring human interaction for complex knowledge-sharing tasks. This study uniquely contributes by developing the first LLM-based chatbot specifically designed for knowledge documentation in small IT enterprise HR contexts, combining technical rigor with practical implementation insights. The artifact design can be replicated and enhanced by future researchers exploring LLM applications in organizational knowledge management, with implications for democratizing advanced knowledge management capabilities in resource-constrained environments.
