Abstract

There are abundant maize populations in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, which can be used as source of gene to develop either a hybrid variety or an open pollinated variety. Genetic parameters of a population, such as additive genetic variance and variance due to dominance which can be estimated using North Carolina Design I, were used to decide a breeding method to be applied. The objectives of this research were to estimate the genetic variance component of important quantitative traits in an equilibrium corn population and to decide the best method to develop the population. The research was conducted at Agricultural Station of Agriculture Faculty, Gadjah Mada University, in 2012 which was carried out in two steps: to develop  half-sib and full-sib families and to evaluate both families in randomized complete block design with three replications. The data was subjected to analysis of variance, and was followed by estimation of genetic variances. The additive variance of ear length and ear diameter of the corn population was greater than dominance variance. In contrary to kernel weight/ear, the dominance variance was greater than additive variance. So based on kernel weight/ear, the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium corn population can be developed through inbreeding to form a hybrid variety.Keywords: breeding, corn, genetic variance

Abstract

Dalam program pemuliaan tanaman wijen, informasi keragaman genetik dan hubungan antarsifat sangat penting untuk menentukan keberhasilan seleksi. Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mempelajari keragaman genetik dan hubungan antara komponen hasil dan hasil wijen pada generasi F1 dan F2 persilangan Sbr 2, Sbr 3, dan Dt 36 telah dilaksanakan dari bulan November 2012 sampai dengan Februari 2013 di Padangan, Sitimulyo, Piyungan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga ulangan. Bahan tanam yang digunakan adalah benih tetua, F1, dan F2 hasil persilangan antara Sbr 3 x Sbr 2, Sbr 3 x Dt 36, Sbr 2 x Dt 36, dan resiproknya. Benih bulk hasil persilangan ditanam secara rapat dalam baris pada petak-petak yang berukuran 4 x 1 m. Pengamatan dilakukan pada parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang, jumlah polong, berat polong, berat biji, jumlah ruas, panjang ruas, umur berbunga, umur panen, dan berat 1.000 biji. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komponen hasil yang memiliki keragaman genetik besar adalah berat biji per tanaman (68,437%), berat polong (40,532%), jumlah cabang (33,251%), jumlah polong (30,269%), dan tinggi tanaman (21,256%). Nilai heritabilitas yang tinggi terdapat pada tinggi tanaman (65,52%) dan umur panen (55%). Komponen hasil yang memiliki korelasi nyata terhadap hasiladalah jumlah cabang, jumlah polong, berat polong, dan umur berbunga, sedangkan yang berpengaruh langsung terhadap hasil wijen adalah jumlah cabang dan berat polong. In sesame breeding program, information about genetic variations and relationships ammongs characters is very important to determine the success of line selection. Studies about correlation between yield and yieldcomponents of F1 and F2 from crosses of Sbr 2, Sbr 3, and Dt 36 was conducted on November 2012 to February 2013 in Padangan, Sitimulyo, Piyungan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The treatments were arranged in completerandom design (CRD) with three replications. Planting materials used were the seed of parents, F1, and F2 from crossing between Sbr 3 x Sbr 2, Sbr 3 x Dt 36, Sbr 2 x Dt 36, and their reciprocals. Bulk breeding seeds planted in rows in high density to reach maximum populations as the genetic resource in the plots according to its genotypes. The observation was made on plant height, number of branches, number of pods, weight of pods, number of nodes, nodes length, day of flowering, plant maturing age, and 1,000seed weight. The results showed that, components which showed high genetic variation were weight of seeds per plant (68.437%), weight of pods (40.532%), the number of branches (33.251%), number of pods(30.269%), and plant height (21.256%). High heritability values was shown in parameters of plant height (65.52%) and plant maturing age (55%). Yield components which have significant correlation with the yield were number of branches, number of pods, pod weight, and days to flowering, while those have a direct effect on the yield of sesame are the number of branches and pods weight.

Abstract

System and management of urban development, whih its concept is environmental outlands, is hughly depended on the accuracy of data and information. To comply with the deamnd it is neede the availability of integrated urban information which is loaded by relevance, validity, reliability, and timely. The information mode meant, includes 1) information dimension of spatial unit; 2) identification of user information k.e: who needs  the information and on what stage the information shall be used; 3) identification of information requirement of every stage developer; 4) AMDAL of the developed urban area. Input of data and information are achieved by remote sensing on orthophoto as the outcoming of this activity are geometrical and semantical data.

Abstract

Land is natural resources within processing needs to the wise action in order to give good returns for human and being prevented it’s conservation. In the utility of it’s land this land is proper to the agriculture land have sometime emergedthe environment problems, namely the balance of nature is disturbed. It doesn’t mean that land is forbidden to use, but in the it’s utility purposes this land must be considered it’s capability or it’s balance. If form and manner of using this land doesn’t disturb the natural balance, it means to be guaranted. In the countrary, if form and remain to be guaranted. In the contrary, if form and manner of  using this land disregard with it’s capability, then the natural balance is disturbed, the land is called asland within dangerous condition or critical land. The coresponding  problem that arises in Kecamatan Cepogo under Boyolali district on the surface level land and southern land resembles the critical land that the most erosion appearance can be found assuch sheet erosion, gully erosion, erosion in the other side, vallage forest, settlement land. Mixing estate and the infertile land. This recent exploration purpose is to understand physical factor that affects the critical land as well as to collect and to clarity the critical land. The used method is survey and laboratory analysis by land unit approach ascartography unit. The adopted data of this research is used the effectively width of soil, texture, soil permeability, soil slope, and soil appearance. From this research is understood that the explorated land has three critical land levels, namely; the medium critical land level is 4411,09 are or 17,48%, the wight critical soil level is 7909,74 are or 12,86% of the whole exploration area wide.

Abstract

The research held on Sub DAS of Gobeh, Wonogiri Regency, have the aims to kno about class and sub-class of land capability in the research area. The other aim is to know about some area developed to the farming land, and to evaluate about land apability currently. The method used in this research is field-survey method, including about observation, measurenment, reording, and laboratory analysis. The sampling method applied in this research is stratified sampling, with land unit stratum. Measurenment and recording in the field inluding about degree of slope, erosion level, soil-deepening, drainage, stone or gravel and flood hazard. The laboratory analysis including about land erodibility, texture, and permeability. The research result identify that, researh fields have three lanf form unit, they are the fluvio volanic foot plain of old Lawu vulcan area flat relief slightly dissected, the fluvio volcanic foot plain of old Lawu mountain area rolling relief medium dissected, and flat foot plain unit can be separated to thirty two land unit. Land capability of the research field identify between level II to level VII. The wide of each land capability are, level II 3 – 8 Ha (2,4%), level III 38,18 Ha (23,7%), level IV 10 Ha (6,33%), level V 107,62 Ha (66,8%), level VII 1,2 Ha (0,75%).

Abstract

There are three aims on this research: to determine  about the level of farming land capability and the sub class of farming land capability, to determine the area that posible to developed for farming land, to evaluate about farming land capability for landuse in the sub district of Boyolali Regency. The methods used in this research is observation in the field and laboratory with land unit approach as a standard  of mapping. The data collected from this research is degree of slope, erosion sensibility, erosion level, solum, texture, permeability, drainage, gravel/ pebble, and the flood hazard. The result of this research showed that the research area has II to VI land capability. Land capability II: 750 Ha (25,1%), III: 1308,1 Ha (43,7%), IV: 250 Ha (8,3%), V: 386,5 Ha (13%), VI: 299 Ha (10%). The dominant restriction is the soil moisture that consist of permeability and drainage.

Abstract

Coastal sandy land as one of marginal land which potential become to be a sustainable productive land. Annual crops such as Sesame cultivation proper to developed as an agribusiness crops in coastal sandy land by chicken manure, or organic fertilizer and in organic fertilizer through the combination treatment of manure and inorganic proportionately. This study aimed to determine the best of time for fertilize on growth and yield of Sesame (Sesamum indicum L). This study conducted in Keburuhan, Purworejo, Coastal sandy land, Gadjah Mada's Agricultural station laboratory, from May until November 2014. This study used a factorial experiment Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four replications. Experiment arranged in with two-factor. First factor is the kind of variety: Sumberrejo-1, Sumberrejo-2. The second factor is, time of fertilize by chicken manure 11,25 tonnes/ha (75% of farmers recommendation)+inorganic fertilizers (N, P, K deficiency replacement dose equivalent to 18,75 tonnes/ha of chicken manure. Variable observed were: plant height, days to flowering, number of branch, root volume. The data analyzed by using analysis of variance at 5% level significance. The results showed that fastest flowering (45 days) was on the control treatmentin Sumberrejo-1. Keywords: coastal sandy land, organic fertilizer, in organic, Sumberrejo-1, Sumberrejo-2 Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.)
