Abstract

Abstrak. Luka diabetes merupakan luka kronis yang berdampak buruk bagi morbiditas, mortalitas, dan psiko-sosio-ekonomi penderita maupun keluarganya. Kondisi hiperglikemia mengakibatkan fase penyembuhan luka tidak berjalan normal. Ekstrak ikan gabus, yang dapat diberikan peroral maupun sebagai bahan kombinasi penutup luka berpotensi terhadap penyembuhan luka diabetes melalui peningkatan jumlah netrofil dan makrofag, neovaskularisasi. Selain itu, ekstrak ikan gabus meningkatkan jumlah fibroblas, deposisi kolagen, peningkatan re-epitelisasi, kekuatan regangan, dan kontraksi pada penyembuhan luka.

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli often infect humans and risky cause antibiotics resistance including amoxicillin. This encourages us finding alternative active ingredients: Moringa oleifera leaf. This study evaluated antibacterial activity of combination of Moringa leaf extract (KDK) and amoxicillin (KA) against S. aureus and E. coli in vitro. The research methods with true experimental research with post-test control group design. KDK obtained by maceration. Four concentrations of KDK test materials (20, 30, 40, 50%) and 1 concentration of KA (3 mg/mL). Disc diffusion test method taken and the parameter measured: the diameter of the disc inhibition zone. Data analyzed by One-way ANOVA and further Tukey’s test. KDK+KA against S. aureus (20.77±1.79 – 21.33±1.74 mm)>KDK (11.45±0.21 – 12.45±0.28 mm) or KA (14.50±0.42 mm). KDK+KA against E. coli (15.53±0.71 – 17.87±0.42 mm)>KDK (9.00±0.28 – 10.30±0.42 mm) or KA (13.45±0.35 mm). A significant (p<0.05) was obtained between the combination group (KDK+KA) versus a group (KDK or KA). The combination of Moringa leaf ethanol extract and amoxicillin synergistically effected as antibacterial against S. aureus and E. coli in vitro.

Abstract

D-galactose is aldohexose which occurs naturally in the body, including in the brain which is found in lactose disaccharides in honey, beets and milk products. Needed in the body for lactose formation during the process of lactogenesis. Provision of large amounts of D-galactose can cause oxidative damage to various tissues and organs. The purpose was to see changes in body weight in male rats after being given a D-galactose injection. Samples using male mice aged 8 weeks with a weight of ± 30 grams, the number of samples was 6 mice swiss webster strain. intra-peritoneal injection of D-galactose is given for 6 weeks every day (150 mg / kg / bb). The results of this study indicate that the statistical analysis is significant p <0.05 (p = 0.016). The conclusion after being given injection of D-galactose for 6 weeks every day intra peritoneally was found D-galactose had an effect on the weight gain of male mice.

Abstract

Aging is a natural process that is characterized by decreased function. In the aging process a decline in the ability of reactive oxygen species. This causes damage to the membrane lipids that cause a decrease in function of the body's organs. Lipid oxidation process in the membrane because free radicals produce lipid peroxidation such as malondialdehyde which is used as a marker of oxidative stress. Regular physical exercise can overcome the negative effects of oxidative stress. To conduct studies on aging, animal models are used. One of the animal models used is the aging induction model by giving D-galactose. Metabolites from d-galactose can induce aging by causing oxidative stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of physical exercise on reducing malondialdehyde levels in an aging animal model induced by D-galactose. This research was experimental in-vivo with a post test only research design. The research sample of 8 weeks old swiss webster mice, consisted of 10 treatment groups. The results of studies on animal models of aging induced D-galactose on malondialdehyde levels after being treated for 6 weeks from the statistical results obtained p value ≥ 0.05 was not significant. However, there was a significant decrease in MDA levels in the D-galactose + physical exercise group

Abstract

Achieving the goals of Indonesia Emas 2045 requires a high-quality generation that is productive, innovative, capable of building harmonious social relationships, possesses strong character, and demonstrates awareness of the relationship between humans and environmental sustainability. In line with the programs of the Tebing Tinggi Population Control and Family Planning Office, the Forum Genre and the Youth Information and Counseling Center (Pusat Informasi dan Konseling Remaja [PIK-R]) have implemented youth empowerment activities to prevent drug abuse and early marriage. Findings from the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) indicated that adolescents had limited knowledge of emotion regulation strategies and reproductive health and had never received related training. This condition became the basis for implementing this community service program. The program was conducted over two days. On the first day, 67 students from several public senior high schools participated in emotion dysregulation screening using the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), psychological distress screening using the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10), and educational sessions on emotion regulation and reproductive health. On the second day, 33 female students who were members of the Forum Genre and PIK-R participated in training on identifying cognitive distortions and practicing mindfulness. The results showed that 38.81% of participants did not experience psychological distress, while the remainder experienced mild to severe psychological distress. In addition, 25 participants (37.31%) predominantly used cognitive reappraisal, whereas 42 participants (62.69%) predominantly used expressive suppression. Overall evaluation revealed high participant satisfaction, participants expressing their readiness to apply and disseminate the knowledge to their peers.

Abstract

Bromhidrosis is a clinical condition defined by an uncomfortable or unpleasant body odor. Since the apocrine glands are only active during puberty, most bromhidrosis occurs in the apocrine glands in the armpit and occurs when apocrine gland secretions approach the skin's surface, where they undergo various biochemical reactions caused by the presence of microbiota in the axillary skin, resulting in odor in the axilla. This research aims to identify microbiota species in the axilla that can cause bromhidrosis. A laboratory experimental research design with purposive sampling is used in this study. In this study, 60 samples were collected from students aged 15 to 18 years old at a high school in Medan, and the samples were analyzed at the University of North Sumatra Hospital's Microbiology Laboratory. All samples were taken from the right axillary skin swab, a Gram stain was performed, and the identified microbiota isolates were identified. The results of skin smear culture revealed a Gram-positive cocci group in 59 samples (98.3%) and a Gram-positive bacilli group in only one sample (1.7%). The microbiota responsible for bromhidrosis was identified as Staphylococcus hominis spp. hominins (30.4%), Staphylococcus epidermidis (27.8%), Staphylococcus aureus (16.5%), Kocuria kristinae and Staphylococcus haemolyticus (6.3%), Staphylococcus lugdunensis and Staphylococcus saprophyticus. The most common microbiota that causes bromhidrosis in the axilla is Staphylococcis hominis spp. Hominis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Staphylococcus aureus.
