Abstract

Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is one of the horticultural crop products and vegetable crop commodities. Growth and quality are influenced by soil conditions, climate, and plant properties. The main source of agriculture is water and soil nutrients. This research applies a smart monitoring and control system for eggplant based on internet of things with the drip irrigation method. This system uses a NodeMCU V3 microcontroller as a controller for the aquatic and water pump. Besides using the Soil Moisture FC-28 sensor to measure soil moisture as an alternative to detect water availability in plants. DHT11 sensors are also given to monitor the temperature and humidity of the air around the plant. In the system there is a monitoring feature that can monitor air humidity, air temperature and soil moisture data. The system can automatically drip irrigation through the relay module when the soil moisture is below 50% and stop the watering process when it reaches 60% humidity. The sensor detection results can be monitored in the Blynk application and monitoring data, in the form of soil moisture, air temperature and air humidity, are saved to the database and can be downloaded in the format (.csv).

Abstract

Advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) have changed the paradigm in various sectors of life, including education, health services, government and the economy. In the ever-evolving digital era, digitalization has become a significant global trend, influencing the way we communicate and interact, including in villages. Villages, as legal community entities with unique characteristics, are the center of attention in digital transformation in Indonesia. However, to measure the level of success of digitalization in villages, an index is needed that can provide an objective picture. In this context, the Digital Village Index (DVI) exists as an evaluation tool that allows the government and stakeholders to identify areas that require improvement and plan more effective development strategies. The Damai Village case study uses a Design Science approach to develop a comprehensive and relevant DVI, with the hope of formulating appropriate strategies to accelerate the digitalization process in the village, according to local characteristics and needs.

Abstract

Abstract

— ASTRINA WULAN PUTRI. The Role of Local Cultural Values in Influencing UI/UX Design Preferences of the Maxride Application Among Students of Hasanuddin University (supervised by Eliyah Acantha Manapa Sampetoding).Background.Indonesia is a multicultural country with various local cultures that influence preferences in the use of technology, including UI/UX design of applications. In South Sulawesi, cultural values such as Tabe and the 3S Principles (Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, Sipakainge’) significantly affect user behavior when interacting with applications. Objective. This study aims to examine the relationship between local cultural values and the UI/UX design preferences of the Maxride application, as well as to test the influence of local wisdom on design elements such as color, iconography, layout, and navigation. Method. This study employs a Mixed-Methods Approach (Quantitative and Qualitative), involving 193 respondents through a Likert scale survey and a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with 15 participants. Data analysis was performed using triangulation to strengthen the validity of the results. Results. The quantitative study revealed a significant relationship between the UI/UX design elements of the Maxride application and local cultural values, with a Cronbach’s alpha value of 0.952. The qualitative study showed that local cultural values influence user preferences regarding design elements such as color, icons, and navigation.Conclusion. Local cultural values play an essential role in shaping user preferences for the UI/UX design of the Maxride application. By integrating these cultural values, user satisfaction with the design can be improved.
