Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: There was 9.5% of stunted infants aged 7-12 month changed to normal nutritional status at the age of 2 years. Integrated programs, health, hygiene, and stimulation have been successful to decrease the stuntingproportion by 17.2%. Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between child care practice and changes in nutritional status from normal to stunting in under fivechildren.Methods: This study was a further analysis from the results of cohort data collection for 20 villages of the City and District of Tangerang in 2008-2011. The number of subject in this study were 571 n under  five childre. Data were analyzed by chi-square test. Result: The results showed that the child care practice (OR=1.63, 95% CI ), hygiene and environmental sanitation (OR=1.63, 95% CI ) and health care aspects (OR=1.76, 95% CI ) were significantly associated with changes in nutritional status from normal to stunting.Conclusion:  child care practice were associated with changes in nutritional status from normal to stunting in under five childrenKEYWORDS: stunting, child care practice, under-five children

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan ampas sari kacang hijau sebagai sumber serat pada produk brownies berbahan dasar tepung mocaf. Pada penelitianpendahuluan dilakukan pengujian kadar air, protein, dan serat pada ampas sarikacang hijau, dengan hasil berturut-turut 80,1%, 5,25% dan 1,06%. Pada penelitianutama dilakukan formulasi brownies dengan faktor A berupa perbandingan tepungmocaf dengan terigu, terdiri atas 3 taraf: 3:1, 1:1, dan 1:0. Faktor II adalah jumlahampas sari kacang hijau (per 100 gram tepung) sebanyak 2 taraf: 50% dan 100%. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah RAL (rancanganacak lengkap) faktorial sehingga diperoleh 6 formula cookies. Formulasi browniesyang paling disukai adalah formula A (perbandingan mocaf dan tepung terigu 3:1,dan ampas sari kacang hijau 50%) baik secara aroma, tekstur, dan rasa. In the preliminary research wasconducted testing of moisture, protein, and fiber in the dregs of mung bean extract, with theresults respectively 80,1%, 5,25% and 1,06%. In the main study was done browniesformulation with factor I: mocaf comparison with wheat flour, consisting of 3 levels: 3:1, 1:1and 1:0. Factor II is the number of dregs of mung bean extract added (per 100 grams of flour),there are two levels: 50% and 100%. The experimental design used in this study is theCompletely Randomized Design with two factors of treatments, totally obtained 6 cookies. The most preferred formulation was formula A (comparison mocaf and flour 3:1, and the dregs of mung bean extract 50%) both in aroma, texture, and taste. The average of aromascore ranged from 3,7 to 5,9 (neutral untill like). The average score of brownies textureranged from 3,4 to 5,3 (neutral to slightly prefer). The mean value of preference for the tasteof products ranging from 3,7 to 5,4 (neutral to slightly prefer). The nutrients contained inthe brownies are produced very high. In 100 grams of material contained approximately 504kcal calories, carbohydrates 47,69 grams, 10,39 grams protein, 27,55 grams of fat and 3,66grams of fiber slightly, so it can be claimed as a source of dietary fiber.Keywords: Brownies, The dregs of mung bean extract, Dietary fiber

Abstract

Overweight can be one of some reasons that cause non-infectious diseases. It is caused by there is no balancing between their energy intake, snack and flavored drink consumption. This study aims to determine the relation of energy intake, consuming some snacks and sweet drinks with the case of overweight in adolescents was aged between 16-18 years old at SMA Islam Al-Azhar 1 Jakarta. This research used cross-sectional design with proportionate stratified random sampling. Number of subjects in this study was 120 adolescents, mostly boys. The result of this study showed most of subjects were having nutritional excess status overweight (50,8%), excessive energy intake (60%), excessive snack consumption(52,5%), and appropriate flavored drink consumption (55,8%). Chi-square test showed there was a relation between energy intake (p<0,05) and snack consumption (p<0,05) with overweight. There was no relation between flavored drink consumption with overweight (p>0,05).

Abstract

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the number one cause of death from non-communicable diseases(NCD), both in Indonesia and in the world. CHD has several risk factors, including food intakewhich is not good. This study was to analyze the food intake on the incidence of CHD in menand women aged 25-44 years in Bogor. This study was a prospective cohort study using a cohortstudy data NCD of Agency for Health Research and Development Ministry of Health of theRepublic of Indonesia. Sampling with purposive sampling technique. Analysis of the data in thisstudy is the univariate analysis. Number of respondents were 1587 subjects. The study foundthe incidence of CHD of 1,20%, the incidence of CHD in men of 1,14% and more affected byCHD are women (1,22%). Most of CHD patients aged 40-44 years old. Protein intake of men15,4% and fat intake of women 31,1%.

Abstract

Stunting is a problem of chronic undernourishment caused by the intake of nutrientsquality and food diversity. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship diversityof food consumption with stunting on toddler age 6-24 months. The methodology used isdescriptive qualitative approach. The design in this study was a crosssectional study. Thesample in this research totalled 82 toddlers aged 6-24 months. Data collection was conductedin the village of Cimayang. Data analysis technique used was chi square. The results showedthere was a relationship between parenting, complementary feeding breast milk, hygiene andsanitation practices, and the diversity of food consumption with stunting on toddler age 6-24months (p-value 0.015). The more food consumption diversity, will be the better quality ofnutrition value. Education about the diversity of food consumption is needed, especially tomothers with toddlers.

Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy is one of the national problems that reflects the value of the socio-economic welfare of the community which also influences the quality of human resources. Factors that can influence the emergence of anemia among pregnant women include socioeconomic, knowledge, frequency of antenatal care visits, maternal age, distance of pregnancy, parity, infectious diseases, lack of consumption of iron, folic acid, vitamin B12, chronic bleeding, nutritional status, diet, compliance to consume Fe tablets, impaired absorption of iron in the body, and gestational age. The purpose of this study was to determine the association of food sources of Fe consumption, compliance to consume Fe Tablets and knowledge about anemia with anemia status in pregnant women. This research used cross sectional design. The number of samples in this study were 51 pregnant women with gestational age ≥ 36 weeks. Analysis of this research data used Fisher’s Exact. The results of statistical tests showed that there was a significant relationship between compliance to consume Fe tablet adherence to taking Fe tablets (p=0,000) and anemia status in pregnant women gestational age ≥ 36 weeks. Meanwhile, the consumption of Fe (p > 0,05) and knowledge about anemia (p > 0,05) had no significant relationship with anemia status in pregnant women ≥ 36 weeks. Thus, the level of compliance with Fe tablet consumption needs to be maintained and improved. Pregnant women still need to be educated about anemia, the effects and food sources of Fe that should be consumed during pregnancy, so that the level of knowledge can increase. Abstract

ABSTRACT Dyslipidemia is a major factor in cardiovascular disease which can cause atherosclerosis, ischemic stroke and peripheral arteries. Dyslipidemia can be predicted by anthropometric measurements. The purpose of this study was to determine the anthropometric measurements that have the highest validity in detecting lipid profiles compared to biochemical assessments in poly cardiac patients at Budhi Asih Regional Hospital, East Jakarta. Research conducted in cross sectional method with quota sampling. This study was conducted on 75 cardiac poly patients. Data was collected by anthropometric measurements of body weight, height, waist circumference and hip circumference. Data on lipid levels were obtained from hospital medical record data. The results showed the lipid profile of normal HDL patients (73.30%), Normal LDL (58.70%), Triglycerides normal (65.30%), Total cholesterol was not normal (52%). Anthropometric value of BMI Obesity (44%), high RLPP (85.3%) and high waist circumference (74.7%). The conclusion of the analysis showed that BMI had poor sensitivity and specificity values ​​for all lipid profiles (Se <60%). RLPP has a very good sensitivity value on all lipid profiles (se> 90%) but has an unfavorable specificity value (Sp <60%). Waist circumference has a relatively good sensitivity (Se> 70%) in LDL, Triglycerides and Total Cholesterol, whereas in HDL it is quite good (Se> 60%). But it has poor specificity (Sp <60%). The results of the three anthropometric measurements RLPP is the best measurement in detecting lipid profiles in cardiac poly patients compared with BMI and Waist Circumference. Abstract

Stunting menjadi masalah gizi yang cukup serius di Banten, terlihat dari masuknya Kabupaten Lebak dan Pandeglang dalam kategori 160 kabupaten/kota prioritas penurunan stunting di Indonesia. Adanya program khusus upaya penanganan stunting dari tingkat Provinsi sampai ke tingkat desa melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat yang belum dievaluasi. Sehingga, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi dari integrasi program khusus penanganan stunting melalui pembentukan Kader Pembangunan Manusia (KPM) di Kabupaten Lebak dan Pandeglang. Penelitian kualitatif eksplorasi menjadi desain pada penelitian ini dengan Informan yakni Kader Pembangunan Manusia dan Pendamping Desa/Pendamping Lokal Desa. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah hasil rekaman wawancara, studi dokumentasi dan catatan pribadi selama proses pengumpulan data di lapangan, juga selama membaca transkrip. Pengumpulan data menggunakan form checklist, wawancara mendalam (Indepth Interview), serta kelompok diskusi terpimpin (Focus Group Discussion). Gambaran hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan pelaksanaan penanganan stunting di Kabupaten Pandeglang dan Lebak telah sampai pada tahap moblisasi KPM. Setiap desa telah memiliki KPM yang membantu pelaksanaan program penanganan stunting sampai di tingkat desa. Namun, masih ditemukan KPM yang belum memenuhi persyaratan. Pelatihan KPM telah dilaksanakan di bawah tanggung jawab DPMD dengan melibatkan beberapa OPD. Masih diperlukan pelatihan dan pendampingan KPM agar pelaksanaan program penanganan stunting di desa berjalan sesuai dengan target.
