Abstract

Background: Suture is a most used technique to heal perineal wound after delivery baby. Midwives often offer baste and disconnected suture for the healing process. Aims: This study aimed to determine the duration of perineum wounds healing between the two suture techniques, baste and disconnected suture. Methods: The study employed a quasi-experimental methods with a longitudinal approach. A total of 24 postpartum mothers who suffered perineum wounds degree II, no smoking, 20-35 years old, no obese, no DM, and no infections, was taken using random sampling. Seven validated parameters in assessing the perineum wound healing process were asked by the researchers during the observation including the status of the stiche, openess, festering, swollen, redness in the skin around the stiches, pain, and smell. The data was then analyzed by independent T-test. Results: The results showed that the average length of the perineum wound healing in a private midwife clinic BPM Umu Hani by baste suturing technique was 7.42 days, and it was significantly shorter (p value = 0.003) than the healing by interrupted suturing technique (9.33 days). Conclusion: Disconnected suturing technique can be a preference for perineal wound healing after delivery baby. However, the midwifery should pay attention to the needs of the postpartum mothers before propose the technique.

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain information about the process circumcision women, the influence of tradition and religion as well as the views of healthcare workers wearing sunat women in rural sub-district Baddui Galesong Takalar. This study uses a qualitative method, the retrieval of data using in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Analysis of the data by means of descriptive steps: data reduction, categorization and analysis-interpretation. The study showed villagers Bodia still believe that female circumcision should be done. This is influenced by factors of cultural and religious interpretations. If seen the female circumcision is still not sterile and harmful to women's reproductive health.Keywords: female circumcision, culture, religion and health perspective

Abstract

Abstract: Pregnancy is the first phase of the reproductive cycle that needsto be prepared by the bride. At the time of pregnancy occurs share thechanges that will affect the physical and psychological condition of women.Objective: to determine the effect of premarital education preparednessfirst pregnancy at bride in KUA Region Bantul, Yogyakarta in 2014.Methods: Data were collected through questionnaires pre and posttest to43 bride chosen by accidental in September 2014. Analysis data by pairedt test. Results: show after educational intervention premarital decrease ofrespondents who are not ready to face the first pregnancy of 57.5% downto 39.5%. Premarital education affect the first pregnancy preparedness onthe bride at KUA Bantul district of Yogyakarta in 2014 (p value = 0.000).Suggestion: to KUA Bantul district is expected to cooperate with the localhealth center to revive the course program bride.
