Abstract

The decision tree method is built using data with variable input, rapot value, gender, and age of SMKN 1 Donorojo learners with label corners. Furthermore, the concept of C4.5 algorithm became one of the techniques in the formation of decision trees. In the procedure, the selection of attributes as a branch in the C4.5 algorithm uses the calculation results of the gain ratio. Based on the concept of calculations designed, the C4.5 algorithm is used in building decision trees in providing recommendations for learners at the college level. This research will qualitatively analyze the implementation of the decision tree method in determining student direction by using the C4.5 algorithm of data mining in the form of a gain ratio of rapot values, interests and talents of students. From the results of the C4.5 decision tree algorithm test can make more accurate predictions in the research of the management of majors and major recommendations for learners. The existence of these methods is expected to be able to provide solutions for students and schools concerned in determining the appropriate majors for students to pursue to the opportunity for success and improve the ability to study in college. C4.5 algorithm itself uses an induction approach where in this approach, the C4.5 algorithm. Divide data based on the criteria selected to create a decision tree. Keywords—: Decision tree, direction determination, C4.5 algorithm

Abstract

Vocational High School is a formal education unit that organizes vocational education that prepares students, especially to work in certain fields. In determining students who excel in certain fields, it is necessary to have a decision support system to improve the quality of decisions in determining students who excel from the highest average score. However, using the highest average score does not get optimal results because it is not adjusted to the existing needs in determining outstanding students. In this study, it can be used as a reference in making decisions for outstanding students by applying the Analytical Hierarchy Process and Simple Additive Weighting methods. The steps taken are: Data collection, Data Preprocessing, Ranking and Comparison of Results between Analytical Hierarchy Process, Simple Additive Weighting with manual weighting results. The results of the ranking comparison show that there are 6 students with the top ranking who are recommended to be outstanding students in the linguistic group.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to create a good method to assist in making the right decision in selecting tertiary majors for class XII students at SMK Negeri 1 Donorojo, and also to help agencies, especially SMK Negeri 1 Donorojo and other SMK, to be able to make decisions to determine the potential of each student. The limitation of the problem is to determine college majors for class XII students at SMK Negeri 1 Donorojo based on report cards and interests and talents, and the solution to be produced is a method that can provide an overview of college majors according to students' potential so that they can help agencies schools in guiding students who will continue on to higher education. Methods of data collection using observation and questionnaires (questionnaire), while for data analysis using the stages of Algorithm C4.5. The results showed that accuracy was 45.21%, Class Precision for English was 33.33%, Mathematics was 14.29%, Indonesian was 66.67%, Islamic Religious Education was 36.36%, and Citizenship Education was 0.00%. while for Class Recall English 27.27%, Mathematics 18.18%, Indonesian 70.59%, Islamic Religious Education 30.77%, and Citizenship Education 0.00%. The conclusion from this study is that students' interest in choosing majors in tertiary institutions is not always based on subject scores but more based on other unknown variables or attributes.
