Abstract

This study examines the cooperation mechanism between farmers and Perhutani in forest agricultural management in Ngasem District, Bojonegoro Regency, from the perspective of Islamic economics. The licensing process is conducted through the Forest Village Community Institution (Lembaga Masyarakat Desa Hutan or LMDH) under a Cooperation Agreement Scheme (Perjanjian Kerja Sama or PKS). Community members interested in managing forest land submit their applications through village officials, after which Perhutani grants approval and provides training programs on forest agricultural management. The profit-sharing scheme stipulates that 10% of the harvest yield is allocated to Perhutani. This research employs a qualitative method with a field research approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that, from an Islamic economic perspective, this cooperation aligns with the mukhābarah contract, where Perhutani acts as the land provider, and LMDH is responsible for seeds, production costs, and land management until harvest. The profit-sharing model is considered consistent with the principles of justice in Islam, as the rights and obligations of each party are clearly defined. This study underscores the importance of contractual clarity in ensuring fair and sustainable cooperation.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Microfinance Institutions (LKMS) in sustaining the creative economy in West Java by incorporating digital adoption as a mediating variable and policy as a moderating variable. A quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS) was employed, based on survey data from 220 micro and small enterprises in culinary, fashion, and craft subsectors. The findings reveal that LKMS significantly influence both digital adoption and creative economy sustainability, directly and indirectly. Digital adoption serves as a key factor enhancing business sustainability, while policy strengthens the effect of LKMS on digital adoption, though only marginally on sustainability. The R² values of 0.31 for digital adoption and 0.56 for creative economy sustainability indicate moderate to strong explanatory power of the model. These results highlight the importance of integrating Islamic financing, business mentoring, and digitalization as a comprehensive strategy to ensure the sustainability of creative micro-enterprises at the regional level. This study contributes to the literature on Islamic microfinance and creative economy, while offering practical implications for policy and strengthening the role of LKMS.

Abstract

Digital transformation is reshaping how creative-economy MSMEs access finance and markets, yet rising platform fees and digital-security risks can undermine fragile margins. This study examines the role of digital-based Islamic microfinance in empowering creative-economy MSMEs in Cirebon Regency, Indonesia. The research applies a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, limited observation, and document review with MSME owners/managers and LKMS/BMT informants, selected via purposive and snowball sampling. An iterative thematic analysis was used to develop themes. Findings reveal three interrelated mechanisms. First, fit-for-purpose digitization strengthens QRIS transaction traceability and digital bookkeeping, building digital trust that functions as “new collateral” for financing access. Second, platform cost pressures and algorithmic visibility push MSMEs to rebalance marketing toward owned channels to protect margins. Third, a hybrid of human touch and data driven monitoring improves risk mitigation through early warning signals, ethical restructuring, and debt-literacy support. The study advances a hybrid digital–human empowerment model for Islamic microfinance and highlights governance conditions needed to avoid exclusion and overload. Future research should compare subsectors and test fairness in credit scoring across providers.
