Abstract

Epistemologi kebajikan (virtue epistemology) adalah suatu gerakan dalamepistemologi yang menggeser fokus epistemologi dari semula menekankan padakeyakinan yang membentuk pengetahuan menuju penekanan pada agen penahu.Strategi analisisnya adalah menggagas karakter kebajikan yang disyaratkan dimilikioleh agen penahu dalam proses berpengetahuan. Selaras dengan etika kebajikanyang menekankan pada karakter dari agen moral, epistemologi kebajikanmengalihkan fokus dari properti-properti keyakinan kepada karakter intelektualdari agen penahu. Nilai epistemik dipahami sebagai kualitas dari agen penahuyang memampukannya bertindak efektif secara kognitif dan dalam cara-caraterpuji. Artikel ini merupakan deskripsi analitis terhadap epistemologi kebajikan,khususnya dalam pemikiran Linda Zagzebski mengenai kecakapan intelektualdan kebajikan intelektual, serta mendemonstrasikan urgensinya dalam membacafenomena era dan masyarakat pasca-kebenaran yang ditandai oleh semakinsumirnya batas antara fakta dan fi ksi, serta semakin tidak berperannya faktaobjektif dalam membentuk opini publik dibandingkan bujukan dan preferensiemosional. Artikel ini berargumen bahwa di tengah keniscayaan perkembanganteknologi informasi yang memungkinkan terciptanya era dan masyarakat pascakebenaran,kebajikan intelektual perlu dikembangkan untuk mengaktifkankembali percakapan publik yang sehat dalam ‘mendekati kebenaran’. Kebajikanintelektual tidak diartikan sebagai dominasi terhadap pluralitas opini, melainkansuatu sikap bertanggung jawab dari agen penahu dalam hidup dan berhadapandengan era pasca-kebenaran. Virtue epistemology is a movement in epistemology that shifts the focusfrom its initial emphasis on beliefs that form knowledge towards an emphasis on theknower. Th e strategy of the analysis is to initiate the character of the virtues needed bythe knower in the process of acquiring knowledge. Aligned with the ethics of virtuesthat emphasizes the character of the moral agent, virtue epistemology shifted focusfrom the properties of belief to the intellectual character of the knower. Epistemicvalue is understood as the quality of the knower that enables him to act cognitively incommendable ways. Th is article is an analytical description of the virtue epistemology,in particular, in Linda Zagzebski’s thought about intellectual skills and intellectualvirtues. Th is paper also seeks to demonstrate the urgency in interpreting phenomenaand society in the post-truth era which is marked by boundary vagueness betweenfacts and fi ction and the diminishing role of objective facts in shaping public opinionwhen compared to persuasion and emotional preference. Th is article argues thatin the midst of the inevitability of the development of information technology thatenables the post-truth era and its society, intellectual virtue needs to be developed toreactivate lively public conversation in ‘approaching the truth.’ Intellectual virtueis not construed as dominance against the plurality of opinion, but a responsibleattitude of the knower in life which deals with the post-truth era.

Abstract

The information technology revolution has produced a network society that Manuel Castells characterizes as space of flows and timeless time. Network logic is inclusive to various dimensions of human life and is exclusive to those who are not involved in the network. In a network society the public sphere is expanding, dynamic and increasingly interactive due to the Internet mediation. The transformation of public space also spreads political power amongst the public. An example is the birth of various volunteer groups that have extensive networks in a short time without face-to-face processes. There have also been various attempts to embrace as many groups as possible as reflected in the change of campaign strategy and regeneration by political parties. In addition, the democratization in the Arab countries (Arab Spring) was possibly happened due to the transmission of information and public consolidation which was facilitated by information and communication technology (ICT), specifically social media. The questions are, how far is the role of social media as a forum for political interaction in the network and what kind of interaction that will be formed? This article uses a qualitative approach that contains analytical description that will reflect the transformation of public space in a network society, particularly on how the democratization faces opportunities as well as challenges in its process and the role of social media in the new political interaction. Focusing on Castells’ theory of network society, this article shows that the transformation of public space at the political level has led to an existential crisis that engulfed most of political actors at this time.

Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses social exchange in the relationship between money and power, where money as an economic medium can direct power politically. The framework of thought used refers to Karl Marx. However, this research puts forward a method of critical thinking analysis, with a new approach to reading Marx as pioneered by the Frankfurt School. The steps taken include investigation, interpretation, and deliberation within the framework of a qualitative study. As a result, it appears that there is a development of Marx's theory of value from originally related to concrete work to be intertwined with abstract work through the mediation of money. This research also finds that the tangled threads of social exchange in relation to money and power are formed through fetishism. The worship of money as an independent value binds the existence of value to the form of money. This then manifests impersonal domination. Prioritization of money occurs at the expense or neglect of social relationships and human values. To overcome this tangle, it is necessary to reject the logic of capital, which makes everything rely on money.Fundamentally, this rejection refers to universal, particular, and singular frames in Žižek's review. Within this framework, the rejection of singular, specific individuals or groups, particularly operative organizational programs, and protest movements with broad universal alliances must work together to drive change.Keywords: Money, Power, Karl Marx, Social Exchange, Fetishism.

Abstract

Orang Asli Papua akan merasa menjadi bagian NKRI apabila dapat berpartisipasi dalam peningkatan kesejahteraan dalam bingkai keadilan dan kearifan lokalnya. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis refleksi kritis pandangan Will Kymlicka tentang hak minoritas dalam konteks “Nasionalisme” Orang Asli Papua, serta mengetahui peran negara dalam melindungi hak-hak minoritas OAP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif, metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah refleksi kritis untuk melakukan pengujian terhadap kelebihan, kelemahan dan relevansi konsepsi tentang asas-asas yang ada. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk melakukan refleksi kritis terhadap pandangan Will Kymlicka tentang hak minoritas Orang Asli Papua (OAP), serta apa peran negara dalam melindungi hak-hak minoritas OAP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa walaupun pemerintah telah melakukan banyak hal untuk memberikan perlindungan hukum bagi Orang Asli Papua, masih ada beberapa persyaratan mendasar yang seharusnya menjamin kebebasan bagi OAP yang belum terpenuhi, minority rights yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah masih belum berhasil karena liberal culture dalam perlindungan hak individu belum optimal.
