Abstract

One of the factors that affect the colour quality of the platy fish (Xyphophorus helleri) during cultivation is the environment in bright light conditions, where setting bright light conditions can be done using a tank with a colour that can absorb light. Therefore, a study was conducted to examine the effect of tank colour on improving the colour quality of the platy fish and determining the correct tank colour. This research was conducted with an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments repeated three times. The colour treatments of the tanks used were white, black, red, orange and yellow. The parameters observed were the increase in colour, growth in absolute weight and length and survival rate of platy fish. The results showed that the use of different tank colours had a significant effect (p <0.05%) on the improvement of colour quality and growth in absolute weight, and had no significant effect (p> 0.05) on absolute length growth and survival rate. The highest increase in colour quality was in white tanks with brightness values ranging from 13-15% and absolute weight growth ranging from 0.21 to 0.25 g. Therefore, in the cultivation of platy fish, a white tank should be used.

Abstract

Research on the effect of probiotic dosing on the growth of vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). This research was conducted for 45 days from 26 August to 14 October 2019 which took place at UD Kolbun Nanda Mumbul Sari Village, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). This study used the CRD method (completely randomized design) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The container used in this study was a sterofome with p 82 x50x38 cm, so that the area of the container used was 155,800 cm3 and the volume of water in the container was 50 liters. The containers used were 15 sterofom units with 5 treatments and 3 replications, where in treatment one (P1) used probiotics at a dose of 0.2 ml / l / week, treatment two (P2) used probiotics at a dose of 0.4 ml / l / week, treatment three (P3) used probiotics at a dose of 0.6 ml / l / week, treatment four (P4) used probiotics at a dose of 0.8 ml / l / week, and treatment five (P5) used probiotics at a dose of 1 ml / l / week. Parameters observed during the study included growth rate, survival rate (SR), and feed conversion ratio (FCR) of vanname shrimp. The results showed that the administration of probiotics with different doses did not have a significant effect on growth in absolute weight and growth in daily weight. However, it had a significantly different effect on the survival rate and feed conversion ratio.

Abstract

Seaweed is macro algae that it one of export commodity at Indonesia. In addition to having economic value, macroalgae also have an important role in aquatic ecosystems. macroalgae play a role as primary producers because of their ability to photosynthesize, produce organic matter, and oxygen in the aquatic environment. Waters on Lombok Island that are overgrown with seaweed include Batu Layar beach. Batu Layar sub-district is part of the tourism area located in the coastal area. Batu Layar sub-district includes a cultivation area consisting of a variety of land uses ranging from agriculture, livestock, fishing and so on. This study aimed to analyze the diversity of seaweed species in the coastal waters of Batulayar, Senggigi, West Lombok Regency along with antioxidant and chlorophyll-a content. The research was conducted in November 2023 in the waters of Batu Layar, Senggigi, West Lombok Regency. The research methods used in this study were survey methods and method explanation of antioxidant content and chlorophyll was carried out in the laboratory, by taking random samples based on the boundaries of the predetermined area as many as 4 stations. The result of this research are identified species of seaweed including Sargassum sp., Padina, Caulerpa, Galaxaura, Ulva, Gelidium, Acanthophora, Iaxaura, Halimeda, Boergesenia forbesii, Corallina, and Turbinaria. Padina antioxidant levels reached 81,31% and chlorophyll 14,35 mg/l. It can be concluded that there are 12 types of seaweed that grow wild consisting of four species each of green, brown, and red alga. Padina has the highest antioxidant content of 81,31%.Keywords:AquacultureAntioxidantChlorophyllSeaweedSargassum.
