Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan pertumbuhan rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezi bibit lokal dan bibit hasil kultur jaringan. Penelitian dilakukan di perairan Seriweh Jerowaru Kabupaten Lombok Timur West Nusa Tenggara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental di perairan laut Seriweh. Budidaya rumput laut dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode longline. Budidaya dan pemeliharaan dilakukan selama 45 hari. Parameter yang digunakan adalah laju pertumbuhan mutlak dan kadar karaginan. Data dianalisa menggunakan statistik dan Uji-T. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pertumbuhan mutlak tertinggi sebesar 451,429 gram pada rumput laut hasil kultur jaringan dengan kadar karaginan sebesar 14,44 gram. Lokasi penanaman Semirang memiliki pergerakan air yang lebih kontinyu dengan kisaran nilai parameter kualitas air sesuai dengan kisaran kriteria habitat yang dikehendaki rumput laut. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pertumbuhan rumput laut tertinggi dan kadar karaginan tertinggi diperolah pada rumput laut hasil kultur jaringan.

Abstract

Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) is known as Sea bass with a selling price of Rp.75,000 - Rp.80,000/Kg consumption size. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of bread yeast with different doses to feed on the growth of Lates calcarifer. This study uses an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatments were P0=0% yeast, P1=0.5%, P2=0.10%, P3=0.15%, P4=0.20% yeast from the weight of the feed given. The results of the study are the bread yeast influences the growth of Lates calcarifer. The highest absolute weight gain in P4 treatment was 0.507 g. The highest absolute length increase in P4 treatment was 0.990 cm. The lowest FCR at perlakuan P1 yaitu 15,55. The highest survival rates are P2, P3, and P4 which is 100%. Erythrocytes with the highest total amount in P4 treatment 12,58x106 - 18,62x106 cells/mm3. Leukocytes with the highest total number in P2 treatment were 27,96x106 - 44,641x106 cells/mm3. Water quality parameter values in the maintenance media are in the range of requirements for Lates calcarifer cultivation. The conclusion of the study is the addition of bread yeast affects the growth of Lates calcarifer and the optimal dose that can increase the growth is 0,20%.

Abstract

Kappaphycus alvarezii is a red alga that produces kappa-carrageenan which can be used as raw material for processed foods, medicines, cosmetics, and bacterial media materials. The production of K. alvarezii is increasingly being sought to increase to meet consumer demands. This study aimed to analyse the growth rate and content of carrageenan in K. alvarezii cultivated using the bottom-off method. This research was conducted at the Seaweed Center of Balai Perikanan Budidaya Laut (BPBL), Gerupuk, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The research method used was experimental with a completely randomized design consisting of five spacing treatments. The treatments in this study were P0 (distance 15 cm as control), P1 (distance 10 cm), P2 (distance 15 cm), P3 (distance 20 cm), P4 (distance 25 cm). K. alvarezii cultivation was carried out for 40 days. The result of this study is the highest yield of carrageenan was obtained at P4 of 6.846%. The highest absolute weight of K. alvarezii was obtained in treatment P4 (25 cm) which was 121.67 g. The highest specific growth was found at P4 (25 cm) which was 1.98%/day. This study concludes that K. alvarezii spacing significantly affects the growth and carrageenan of seaweed cultivated at the bottom-off method.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengintroduksi teknologi pembenihan bandeng. Manfaat dari kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat dapat melakukan pembenihan bandeng dan dapat memproduksi benih bandeng atau nener untuk kepentingan benih budidayanya sendiri. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pelatihan langsung teknik pembenihan bandeng dengan tahapan penentuan kelompok mitra, sosialisasi kegiatan, introduksi teknologi budidaya bandeng daan pembimbingan. Benih bandeng atau nener di Nusa Tenggara Barat, tidak mudah didapatkan dan mahal. Hal tersebut dikarenakan nener didatangkan dari pulau Jawa dan jumlahnya juga terbatas. Masyarakat belum dapat melakukan pembenihan bandeng dikarenakan belum pernah diajari hal tersebut. Teknologi pembenihan bandeng cukup sederhana dan dapat dilakukan dengan mudah, murah dan efisen. Sehingga teknologi pembenihan bandeng perlu diajarkan ke masyarakat. Mitra kegiatan ini adalah pembudidaya bandeng di Desa Pijot kecamatan Jerowaru Kabupaten Lombok Timur.

Abstract

Desa Ekas Buana memilik potensi perikanan diantaranya penangkapan kuda laut. Harga jual kuda laut yang tinggi (Rp. 7.000.000,- per kg) dapat mendorong penangkapan berlebih terhadap komoditas ini. Pengetahuan budidaya kuda laut perlu dilakukan untuk mencegah kepunahan kuda laut dari penangkapan berlebih, selain itu dapat menjadi alternatif pendapatan di masyarakat Desa Ekas Buana. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Ekas Buana, Kecamtatan Jerowaru, Kabupaten Lombok Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan kepada masyarakat, demplot budidaya kuda laut skala rumah tangga dengan demplot di mitra (budidaya kuda laut di akuarium dan di keramba jaring apung), serta pembinaan. Hasil demplot menunjukkan bahwa kuda laut lebih optimal dipelihara di keramba jaring apung.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to identify vibrio disease in Eucheuma cottonii samples which had the characteristics of ice-ice disease, namely the thallus was whitish and broken. The research was conducted at two locations in Lombok, namely in Ekas Bay and in the waters of Buwun Mas Village. The samples were identified as vibrio bacteria at the Sekotong Marine Aquaculture Center using biochemical methods. The results showed that vibrio bacteria were associated with ice-ice disease in the observed seaweeds. The types of vibrio bacteria that cause ice-ice disease in samples in Ekas Bay and Buwun Mas are Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Vibrio alginolyticus, and Vibrio damsela.

Abstract

The potential area of Lombok seaweed cultivation is 5490 Ha. The area utilized is 2039.63 Ha. The purpose of this paper is to review the diversity, cultivation activities, production and potential of seaweed to be developed, specifically focusing on aspects of cultivation and production on the island of Lombok, Indonesia. Macroalgae that have been cultivated on Lombok are Kappaphycus alvarezii morphotype brown and green and Gracilaria verucosa. The decline and the amount of uncertainty in production were caused by several problems in seaweed cultivation, weather changes, limited capital for production and decreased quality of seaweed seeds. The species that have the potential to be developed are Sargassum aquifolium, Caulerpa sp., Ulva sp., Eucheuma spinosum, and Gelidium sp. Development Locations are located throughout the waters in the shape of a bay and are by the stipulated water utilization spatial plan. Developing seaweed aqua tourism and institutional arrangements related to seaweed production is necessary.
