Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine the effect of work stress on performance, motivation on performance, and work stress and motivation on performance. The research was conducted at Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Klas IIA Anak Pria Tangerang with total sample of 97 correctional officers. The results showed that: (1) Work stress negatively effect work performance of correctional officer and not significant. This result supported by correlation test which r value is -0.011, with b’s value = -0.027 and R square = 0.00019. (2) Work motivation positively effect on work performance of correctional officer which r value of 0.359, with b’s value = 0.655 and R square = 0.129. Finally researcher provides the important managerial implications useful for correctional officer related to work stress, motivation, and performance that will lead to work performance of correctional officer.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the correlation between work factors (work overload, role conflict, role ambiguity, job autonomy and fairness of reward) and work exhaustion in IT professionals. This research is done with premise that the higher work exhaustion, the higher the intention to leave. The questionnaires distribute on website for two months and IT professionals in Indonesia as the respondent. Regression analysis is used to examine the hypothesis. The results showed that role ambiguity and role conflict significantly related to work exhaustion. Work exhaustion also found significantly related to intention to leave. Furthermore, role conflict is found as the dominant antecedent of work exhaustion. Finally, this research suggest some important managerial to HR manager such as the urgency to design a clear job description and manage the workload in IT professionals.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine whether individualism-collectivism dimension (beliefs, values and norms) positively related with organizational citizenship behavior dimension (interpersonal helping, individual initiative and loyal boosterism) in an accounting environment setting. Structural Equation Model (SEM) are used to analyze data. The sample consists of 365 accounting college students. The results showed that individualism-collectivism‟s dimension positively related with organizational citizenship behavior dimension. This result supported the previous research conducted by Moorman and Blakely (1995).
