Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pendapatan yang diperoleh peternak Kecamatan Mojosongo, dan Kecamatan Cepogo, dan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pendapatan Kecamatan Mojosongo, dan Kecamatan Cepogo, Kabupaten Boyolali.  Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober-November 2015. Penentuan lokasi dipilih menggunakan metode purposive dengan kriteria kecamatan yang memiliki usaha ternak sapi perah terbanyak di Kabupaten Boyolali. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Penentuan sampel responden dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling. Penentuan jumlah responden untuk mewakili populasi dilakukan dengan perhitungan rumus Slovin. Jumlah sampel yang diambil sebanyak 66 responden. Data primer diperoleh secara langsung melalui kegiatan observasi di peternakan dan kegiatan wawancara dengan responden menggunakan kuisioner yang telah disiapkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan rata-rata pendapatan peternak Kecamatan Mojosongo Rp 1,327,996.00/bulan, dan peternak di Kecamatan Cepogo sebesar Rp 2,312,258.00/bulan.

Abstract

The duck farmers in Brebes Regency has not been able to deal with the business dynamics with themain problems in feed and Day Old Duck (DOD).The aim of the research was to analyze the businessperformance of duck farmer in Brebes Regency. The technical and economical efficiency was calculatedto find out the status of duck farmer’s business performance. The research was conducted to four mostactive duck farmer groups (KTTI) in Brebes Regency. The research was done based on survey methodwith 123 duck farmers of the group member as the respondents. The research results show that not all ofthe duck farmers performed their business efficiently (the average technical efficiency is 0.9981) sincethe number of duck ownership, forage, and the use of technology were not optimum yet. The return toscale value of the duck farming businesses was 1.0868, which showed the presence of opportunity toincrease production. This research recommends that it is necessary to manage the productionmanagement in order to increase business performance by optimizing the number of duck ownership,forage feed, and the use of technology.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to determine the profitability of dairy cattle business on the group of dairy farming in District of West Ungaran, Semarang Regency. This research was conducted from February to March 2016 through a survey method. Respondents in this study were lactating dairy farmers on the group of dairy farmers in District of West Ungaran. Then, location was determined by using purposive sampling. Further, respondents were determined by using census method for 40 people; those were 11 respondents of Mardi Mulyo farmer group members, 4 respondents of Sumber Hasil members, and 25 respondents of Ngudi Makmur members. Then, data were analyzed by employing the analysis of income and profitability. The result of study indicated that the average income over the cash cost was as much as IDR. 34,708,139.20 per year or IDR.2,892,344.93 per month, and the average income over the total cost was as much as IDR.4,867,808.92 per year or IDR. 405,650.74 per month. The profitability was 10.34% greater than the bank interest for farming business loans for 5% per year. It could be concluded that dairy cattle business on the group of dairy farmers in West Ungaran was profitable.

Abstract

Business strategy is an effort to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage in an agro-industry. The research objective on salted egg agro-industrial center is to identify a model for business development. The advantages of salted duck eggs have been recognized by people in south east asian countries and east asian countries. This observational research was conducted on 105 salted egg agro-industries in Brebes Regency. Data on 22 variables of quantitative strategic planning were collected through interviews using a questionnaire. Strategy formulation framework method was applied to determine specific alternative strategies to reach sustainable competitive advantage The results showed that the salted egg agro-industry were not supported by the availability of duck eggs and upstream industry (50.58%) although most consumers were fond of salted egg due to its taste (52.38%), texture (58.10%), and price (71,43%). The salted egg agro-industry was in the aggressive position. The best strategy concept for business policy development was market penetration The market penetration strategy was chosen, namely increasing promotion and sales volume. Market penetration strategy is suggested to be the mod-el for empowering salted egg agro-industry and agro-industrial commodities in general so that the activ-ity of duck farming and upstream industry can be leveraged.
