Abstract

The Gedebage area in Bandung is currently experiencing extraordinary development because the provincial capital city of Bandung is planned to move to the area. The soil in the area is soft soil which generally experiences large subsidence. Soft soil conditions are very challenging for sampling laboratory specimens. Therefore, this research will be carried out based on field testing by using a Cone Penetration Test with pore water measurements (CPTu). In situ testing has a number of advantages, including measurements of soil parameters are done under actual stress conditions in the field, continuous data throughout the depth, and overcoming the problem of sampling or sample disturbance. A more in-depth study of the consolidation parameters that affect the degree of consolidation is carried out using the dissipation test on the CPTu test. The results of this study yielded consolidation parameters and the degree of consolidation that occurred in the soil of Gedebage area, Bandung. Abstrak Kawasan Gedebage Bandung saat ini mengalami pengembangan yang luar biasa karena ibukota Bandung direncanakan pindah ke area tersebut. Tanah pada kawasan tersebut merupakan tanah lunak yang pada umumnya memiliki penurunan tanah yang besar. Kondisi tanah lunak sangat menyulitkan pengambilan sampel untuk pengujian di laboratorium. Karena itu penelitian ini akan dilakukan berdasarkan data lapangan menggunakan alat Cone Penetration Test dengan pengukuran air pori (CPTu). Keunggulan pengujian in situ antara lain data yang diperoleh bersifat kontinu sepanjang kedalaman, parameter tanah yang diperoleh pada kondisi tegangan yang sesungguhnya di lapangan, dan tidak diperlukan pengambilan sampel. Penelitian lebih mendalam terhadap parameter konsolidasi yang berpengaruh terhadap derajat konsolidasi dilakukan menggunakan uji disipasi pada pengujian CPTu. Hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan parameter konsolidasi dan derajat konsolidasi yang terjadi di tanah Gedebage, Bandung.

Abstract

Kekurangan dari tanah organik pada sektor pembangunan yaitu: tanah organik mudah mengalami penurunan yang besar, serta memiliki daya menahan atau (bearing capacity) yang rendah sehingga menyulitkan beroperasinya alat berat dilapangan serta menyulitkan untuk sampling tanah, maka dari itu tanah organik disimulasikan menggunakan campuran tanah lempung dengan batubara. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh kandungan batubara sebagai media organik didalam tanah, dilakukan penelitian pada parameter konsolidasi akibat pengaruh dari pemberian batubara pada sampel uji dengan besar campuran batubara yang digunakan yaitu 25% dan 50%. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran mengenai pengaruh dari pemberian batubara terhadap parameter konsolidasi yaitu cc (indeks pemampatan), cr (indeks pemampatan kembali), dan cv (koefisien konsolidasi). Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada nilai cc dan cv, maka dari itu disarankan saat melakukan pengujian pastikan besar kadar air campuran harus sama.

Abstract

The ground in the Gedebage area of Bandung city consists of soft soil at a depth of approximately 30 meters. Construction on soft soil generally suffers from high settlement and low bearing capacity. To overcome the problem of soft soil, a lightweight material solution is needed that still has the necessary strength. This research uses geofoam, a synthetic material made of EPS (expanded polystyrene), as a geotechnical material. The interaction between soil and geofoam has not been widely studied, while the use of interface value software applications are always required for the geotechnical analysis process. This study aims to analyze the effect of geofoam layer on soil shear strength parameters in Gedebage area, Bandung and geofoam interaction. The soil samples used were undisturbed soil at a depth of 2.0-2.5 meters. The test conducted was the consolidated drained (CD) type direct shear test using geofoam of PT X with the type of Geofoam EPS with geofoam sample dimensions for testing 6 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height. The results showed that the Geofoam affected the shear strength parameters of the native soil. In the direct shear test of the native soil, the cohesion value (c) was found to be 0.0392 kgf/cm2 and the internal shear angle was 23.44 degree. While in the direct shear test of native soil with Geofoam, the cohesion value (c) was 0.5598 kgf/cm² and the internal shear angle was 7.02 degree. The Rinterface value of the interaction between soil and Geofoam is 0.284

Abstract

Bandung is an ancient lake area formed by years of sedimentation. The result of the sedimentation is then called the Bandung lacustrine soil where the soil has very soft characteristics, is water saturated, has relatively high voids, low shear strength and is very compressible. This study aims to determine the consolidation characteristics of Bandung Lacustrine soil in the Gedebage area using CPTu Test, Drill Test, SPT Test, Laboratory Test and settlement plate instrumentation. CPTu Test, Drill Test and SPT Test are intended to determine the layering and depth of the Bandung Lakustrine soil where the Bandung Lakustrine soil is at a depth of 5 - 30 m. Laboratory and Settlement Plate tests were conducted to determine the physical characteristics and consolidation of the Bandung Lakustrine soil. From this research, it is known that Bandung Lakustrin soil has high moisture content (Wn > 200%), high pore number value (e > 4), relatively high primary and secondary strain value (Cc = 2 - 4 & Ca = 0.005 - 0.09), and relatively high strain (12 - 54%), coefficient of consolidation (Cv) ranges from 2.49 - 16.18 x10-3 cm2/s based on CPTu dissipation data. ABSTRAK   Bandung merupakan daerah danau purba yang terbentuk akibat sedimentasi bertahun-tahun. Hasil sedimentasi tersebut yang kemudian disebut dengan tanah lakustrin bandung dimana tanah memiliki karakteristik yang sangat lunak, jenuh air, memiliki void yang relatif tinggi, kuat geser yang rendah dan sangat kompresible. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik konsolidasi pada tanah Lakustrin Bandung pada kawasan Gedebage menggunakan Uji CPTu, Uji Bor, Uji SPT, Uji Laboratorium dan instrumentasi settlement plate. Uji CPTu, Uji Bor dan Uji SPT ditujukan untuk mengetahui pelapisan dan kedalaman dari tanah Lakustrin Bandung dimana tanah Lakustrin Bandung berada pada kedalaman 5 – 30 m. Uji Laboratorium dan Settlement Plate ditujukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik fisik dan konsolidasi tanah Lakustrin Bandung. Dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa Tanah Lakustrin Bandung memiliki kadar air yang tinggi (Wn > 200%), nilai angka pori yang tinggi (e > 4),  nilai regangan primer dan sekunder yang relatif tinggi (Cc = 2 – 4 & Ca = 0.005 – 0.09), dan reganan yang relatif tinggai (12 – 54%), koefisien konsolidasi (Cv) berkisar 2.49 – 16.18 x10-3 cm2/dt berdasarkan data disipasi CPTu.

Abstract

Cone Penetration Test field instrument, also commonly refered to as sondir, has been commonly used in Indonesia. However, the usage of Cone Penetration Test in combination with pore water measurement (CPTu) is not yet used widely, which is why this research is conducted in situ by using CPTu instrument. In situ testing has a few advantages, such as:soil parameters are obtained under actual stress conditions, continous data can be obtained along the depth of soil, and it overcomes sampling problems or sample interferences. Location of this research is in Gedebage area of Bandung which currently undergoes major development. Soil in the area are soft soils which commonly have low shear strength. Soft clay shear strength (Su) can be determined by the ratio of net cone resistance and conus factor (Nkt). Further research on Nkt coefficient on soft soil shear strength evaluation based on CPTu test results are going to be verified by using laboratory testing. The research shows that Nkt coefficient which are suitable for Gedebage area ranges from 13 - 15. Range of shear strength parameter based on the laboratory test and in situ CPTu test calculations are as the following: depth of 0-10 m Su >25 kPa, depth of 10 - 25m Su is around 10 kPa, and depth of 25 - 31m Su > 100 kPa.

Abstract

Development in Indonesia is partly on soft soils, for example the opening of transmigration areas and the construction of roads connecting cities on the east coast of Sumatra Island. The two main problems of construction on soft soils are large settlement and low bearing capacity. One of the soil improvement efforts that will be investigated is soil stabilization with cement and chemicals. Observations were only made on the bearing capacity of the soil using a free compressive strength tester. The stabilized soil type is soft clay with dominant mineral content of montmorillonite from P. Rimau, South Sumatra. The levels of cement mixed in the soil were 2, 6, 10 and 15% of dry weight with treatment periods of 1, 3, 7, 14 and 21. The chemicals used to improve cement properties in organic soils are NaOH, KOH and Na2CO3. The results showed an increase in strength both for the addition of cement content and for the addition of the treatment period. The increase in soil strength reached 500% - 1,450%.
