Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase and also increase student knowledge about computers in an effort to increase student interest. This activity was carried out at SMPN 3 Rancakalong, Sumedang, West Java. The problem that needs to be resolved is that some students are not too familiar with computer components, both hardware and software, because they do not understand computer components in the learning process. The method that will be used in this community service activity is discussion and through questions and answers along with quizzes with prizes so that students are more enthusiastic in the process of learning material about computers. The discussion presented was a theory about the introduction of hardware and software. Training is carried out jointly with students. Through the implementation of this community service activity, it is hoped that there will be many benefits for students at SMPN 3 Rancakalong in increasing their understanding of the functions of hardware and software. The results of this community service activity, namely through the introduction of hardware and software, open students' views about the importance of learning in the field of computers that can help and facilitate solving problems that exist in everyday life.

Abstract

As the volume of data generated by various entities continues to grow, the challenges in managing and searching for data become increasingly complex, including in document and letter management within organizations. Desa Katapang, located in Katapang District, Bandung Regency, faces challenges in managing administrative letters and documents manually, which increases the risk of data loss and inaccuracies. To address this issue, a web-based letter archiving information system was developed to enhance efficiency, productivity, and document management security. This system enables digital storage, reducing the dependency on physical archives, and allows for fast and accurate document retrieval. In developing this system, the waterfall methodology was employed, covering stages such as needs analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. Additionally, project management was applied through the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Critical Path Method (CPM), and Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) approaches to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget. The results of the study show that this project is feasible to implement, with an ROI (Return on Investment) of 1.4 and an IRR (Internal Rate of Return) of 41%. With this system, Desa Katapang can improve services to the community, optimize document management processes, and reduce the risks associated with manual archiving.

Abstract

SMK Bintara Rancaekek still has an educational support system that has not been computerized, one of which is library management. The process of managing library data is handled by one officer, starting from searching for book data, recording loan transactions, return transactions, calculating fines, and generating reports, all of which are still done manually or have not been computerized. As a result, several issues arise, including difficulties in managing borrowing and returning data, time-consuming recapping, and the risk of recording errors and data loss. The purpose of this research is to assist officers in managing book data, visits, borrowing and returning transactions, as well as minimizing data loss and recording errors, simplifying the calculation of fines, and generating reports quickly. The method used in this research is the Rational Unified Process (RUP). The design uses analysis tools such as flowmaps, Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), Data Dictionaries, and Structure Charts. The design and development of this library information system are expected to address the aforementioned problems and provide ease of operational work, especially in managing the borrowing and returning of library books.

Abstract

The management of payroll data at the Islamic Economics College (STEI) Bina Muda Bandung is still conducted manually, leading to inefficiencies, risks of errors, and delays in administrative processes. This research aims to develop an integrated payroll information system to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in payroll data management. The Scrum method was chosen as the system development approach due to its flexibility, rapid iteration, and focus on team collaboration. The development process was carried out through a series of sprints, with each sprint focusing on completing specific features, such as payroll calculation automation and payslip generation. User feedback (from administrative staff) was collected regularly to ensure the developed system met their needs. The results show that the Scrum method is effective in producing an information system that automates payroll processes, reduces payslip generation time, and improves staff satisfaction. The implementation to serve as a model for other educational institutions in supporting digital transformation. Thus, this research makes a significant contribution to improving the quality of payroll data management in the education sector through a structured and adaptive Scrum approach.

Abstract

SMA Negeri 1 Majalaya is a senior high school located on Jalan Panyadap Majalaya No. 2 Kec. Solokanjeruk Kab. Bandung. Teaching and learning activities carried out by the school mostly still use conventional methods, namely face-to-face where the teacher enters the class to take attendance, deliver material and give assignments. In practice, there are concerns felt by the school, such as the vulnerability of attendance data, materials and the slow process of evaluating or assessing student performance. The method used in the development of information systems in this study is Rapid Application Development which emphasizes a relatively short development cycle with a system development cycle including Requirement, Design, Implement, Test, and Maintenance. The design of this e-learning information system is expected to be a solution in overcoming the vulnerability of attendance data and materials that can be lost or damaged. Then the e-learning information system can help teachers in evaluating or assessing student performance quickly and easily with the print or export feature on student grade reports. The expected alternative learning media has also been completed and can be used properly in achieving the previously set goals.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology requires educational institutions to manage data and business processes more efficiently and in an integrated manner. MA Al Hidayah, as a private Islamic senior high school, faces challenges in handling academic and administrative data, which are still mostly managed manually and lack integration. This study aims to design an information system architecture using the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) method as a solution to support the institution’s vision, mission, and operational needs. The EAP approach consists of four layers: planning initiation, current business and system modeling, architecture design (data, application, and technology), and implementation and migration planning. The results of this study include a blueprint for data, application, and technology architecture, along with implementation strategies and human resource requirements. The proposed architecture is expected to serve as a guide in building an integrated information system that enhances operational efficiency, information transparency, and data-driven decision-making at MA Al Hidayah.

Abstract

The Career Development Center (CDC) at Ma’soem University supports students and alumni in preparing for the workforce through services such as counseling, psychological testing, tracer studies, and job vacancy information. However, the absence of an integrated system makes these services less efficient and difficult to manage. This study proposes a centralized information system using the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) approach to support the CDC’s digital transformation. The design includes data, application, and technology architectures aimed at improving service delivery and operational performance. The system development process involves observation, interviews, business process modeling (BPMN), and data structure design (ERD). The result is a system design with key modules supported by secure technological infrastructure. The system is planned to be implemented in stages and is expected to help the CDC operate more effectively and align with the needs of the industrial sector.

Abstract

The use of computers as a tool for completing work in the field of information system technology is increasingly widespread and growing in all fields. Computers are felt to have many advantages, because computers can be programmed so that they can be adjusted to the wishes of the user. One way to get optimal results by managing data quickly and accurately is to use a computerized system and use system development, namely the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall method in designing information systems, starting from analyzing software requirements, design, implementation, and Testing.Toko Agnia is currently still not optimal because sales and purchase data processing is carried out manually so it becomes ineffective. Based on the results of the reports that have been made, several conclusions can be drawn as follows: With the implementation of a desktop-based information system users will easily process sales, purchases and stock inventory, can speed up the processing and preparation of sales and purchases reports, the accuracy of calculations in this program can be relied upon.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide a basic understanding of computers for elementary school students in an effort to improve technological knowledge from an early age. This activity was carried out at SDN Neglasari, Kutawaringin Soreang. The problem to be solved is the lack of a basic introduction regarding the components, functions, and operation of computers for elementary school students. The methods used in this activity include discussion, educational video screenings, direct observation of computer hardware, and hands-on practice for turning on, turning off, and using a computer. Through the implementation of this community service, it is hoped that students can understand the function of computers in daily life , recognize their main parts , and operate them wisely. The result of this activity is to open students' views regarding the importance of computer technology that can support the learning process and facilitate daily activities.
