Abstract

This study investigated students’ perception of using the internet as learning media in reading comprehension skills. This study uses descriptive statistics. The objective of the research was to find out the students’ perception of using the internet as learning media in the reading comprehension skill of the English Education Study Program at Baturaja University. The population of this research was 79 students of English Study Program. The researcher only took 54 students as the sample by applying purposive sampling. The data was collected through the questionnaire that consisted of 20 statements. Then the researcher used five points of Likert scale for analyzing the data. The result of this research there agreed (4.03) students had a positive perception of using the internet as learning media in reading comprehension skills. It means that the internet is a facility to improve his proficiency in language skills. So the use internet for English learning makes language learning an easier process by being fun, interactive, and interesting.

Abstract

This study aimed at improving the tenth grade students’ reading comprehensionachievement by using RCRR Strategy. The design of this study was quasi experimentalresearch.The tenth grade students from X TKJ 1 and X TKJ 2 which consisted of 72students were taken as the sample in this study through purposive sampling. The data werecollected using 20 multiple-choice questions of reading comprehension test. Thedataanalyzed by statistic formula of T-test. Based on findings, the students’ pre test mean scorein experimental class was 55,83 and after that the students’ post test mean score was 82,64.The testing of hypotheses also proved that RCRR strategy gave significant effect onstudents’ reading comprehension on the sig (2 tailed) value was 0,025 (<0.005). From theresult it can be concluded that there was a significance different on tenth grade students’reading comprehension achievement on experimental and control class of SMK Negeri 1OKU.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to know the instructional analysis in teaching speaking skill. This study participated by one of the Eleventh grader English teachers in SMAN 8 OKU. Data from this descriptive study were gathered by observation. The observational result showed that the English teacher of SMA N 8 OKU used certain types of classroom instruction in the teaching speaking. There were five types of classroom instruction: setting objectives and providing feedback, cues, question and advanced organizer, homework and practice, reinforcing effort and providing recognition, and generating and testing hypotheses
