Abstract

This research is analyzes about the struggle of Malala’s in He Named Me Malala film. The purposes of this research are to explain the great efforts of young girl named Malala for gender equality on education and politic and to explain the positive and negative impact after defying gender in equality in He Named Me Malala film. In analyzing the research, the writer uses feminism approach and some supporting theories. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative. The data are formed in words, phrases and sentences. The data are analyzed through four procedures: identifying, classifying, analyzing, and making conclusions of the data. Result of this research are the writer found some great efforts of Malala’s struggle on gender equality on education and politic. The last, the writer found the positive impact of the Malala’s effort on education and politic. Malala has given chance for the other women to get education and the right of politic which is the basic right of human being as seen on He Named Me Malala film.

Abstract

This research analyzed about figurative language and social values in three poems of Black Live Matter (BLM) community’s poem in America. The purposes of this research are to describe the kinds of figurative language and social values in three poems of BLM community’s poem. In this research, the writer used the descriptive qualitative method and used theory of figurative language by Perrine (1992) and theory of social values by Amir in Sukatman (1991). Data are explained by find the meaning and described them based on the kinds of figurative language through four procedure, they are: identifying, classiying, analyzing and making the conclusion from the data. The result of this research are the writer found about 19 data of figurative language of the poems. Hyperbole is the dominant kind of figurative language in those three poems ,because hyperbole is the appropriate of figurative language for BLM’s proponents for looking for help. Beside, social values also found in these poems, the most dominant social value in these poems is social value of humanity. Humanity is one of the biggest issue for black people in United State of America.

Abstract

This research analyzed about imageries in the Mother Africa, May I Return? poem. The poem of Black Live Matter (BLM) movement in America, United Kingdom and Australia. The purpose of this research is to describe the kinds of imageries found in the Mother Africa, May I Return? poem. In this research, the writer used the descriptive qualitative method and used theory of Imagery by Perrine (1992). Data are explained by find the meaning and described them based on the kinds of imagery through four procedure, they are: identifying, classiying, analyzing and making the conclusion from the data. The result of this research are the writer found about 13 data of imagery of the poem. Visual imagery is the most dominant imagery in the Mother Africa, May I Return? poem. There are 6 data of visual imagery from 13 total data that the writer found in the poem, because visual imagery is the appropriate imagery for BLM’s proponents to describe their misery in their own country. Another imagery that the writer also found in this poem are auditory imagery, tactile imagery and kinaesthetic imagery. There are 5 data of auditory imagery, 2 data of tactile imagery and 1 data of kinaesthetic imagery found in the Mother Africa, May I Return? poem.

Abstract

This research is aimed to describe cultural values that found in the idiomatic expressions of Jambi Malay Language Bungo Malay dialect Then, the research is conducted through several steps, namely, collecting data, analyzing, and presenting the result of data analysis. The methods chosen in collecting data were observational and conversational method, by applying some techniques such as non participant observational technique, note taking technique, elicitation, and recording technique. Then, in analyzing technique, the writer used descriptive qualitative approach by using contextual analysis method in order to explain the cultural values from the expressions. Moreover, the writer used informal method for presenting the result of analysis. The result of research shows that the expressions of idiomatic from the Jambi Malay Language Bungo Malay dialect contain cultural values that have been developed in the society, especially for Jambi Malay speakers that categorized into good and bad values. Besides, the idiomatic expressions that used by Jambi Malay Language Bungo Malay dialect also contains ethics, moral, and politeness
