Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the significant difference in student achievement learning through the implementation of a think pair share (TPS) learning model and conventional learning model on acid-base material. This research is an experimental study using quasi-experimental design, namely posttest only with nonequivalent group design. The study population was all students of class XI MA Sunan Pandanaran Yogyakarta academic year 2018/2019. The sample in this study was taken by purposive sampling technique as many as two classes. Data collection using the written test method with instruments in the form of multiple-choice questions to obtain data on learning achievement. Data analysis techniques in this study used Mann Whitney Test. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there are significant differences in learning achievement between students who take part in the TPS learning model and students who take the conventional model learning on acid-base material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there are significant differences in students’ learning achievement and collaborative skills between class that implement Project-Based Learning model and the conventional learning model on the buffer solution material. This research is an experimental study that using quasi-experimental design, post-test only with non-equivalent group design. The population used in this study were all students of 10th grade by using two classes as research samples. Data were analyzed using the Independent Sample T-Test for learning achievement in knowledge, as well as the non-parametric Mann Whitney U test for students’ learning achievement and collaborative skills. The results of this study can be concluded that there are significant differences in students' learning achievement and collaborative skills between the implementation of the PjBL learning model and conventional learning models on the buffer solution material. Keywords: project-based learning, collaborative skills, learning achievement

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that emerged in early 2020, has had a very significant impact on various sectors, including education. Each country shifts learning activities at various levels from face-to-face (offline) to online learning. Achieving competences according to the high school chemistry curriculum is quite difficult to do through online learning, especially for skills and attitudes competency aspects. Chemistry learning during pandemic tended to focus on attaining the knowledge aspect. It needs attention, lest during the pandemic, there will be a degradation of students’ character. It is necessary to design chemistry learning that can facilitate the development of students’ character. One of the efforts that can be done is implementing a variety of online learning models. Project based learning can be an alternative strategy to facilitate the development of students’ character. It is necessary to conduct a study to determine the implementation strategy and impact of project based online learning, because it is not easy to apply the syntax in online learning. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of project based online learning on students’ character. The study was a quasi-experimental, with posttest only design. The research population was students of class XI of a public high school in Sleman Regency. The research sample was determined by using purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the independent sample T-test. Based on the research data, it is concluded that there is no difference on students’ character between the implementation of project based online learning and conventional online learning.
