Abstract

Sari. Buah merupakan organ reproduktif yang memainkan peranan penting pada tanaman dalam proses perbanyakan tanaman dan penyebaran biji. Biji akan terbentuk akibat adanya proses polinasi dan fertilisasi. Pada beberapa jenis buah keberadaan biji tidak diinginkan, sehingga sekarang sudah banyak dikembangkan buah tanpa biji atau buah partenokarpi. Secara garis besar partenokarpi terdiri dari dua kelompok utama, yaitu partenokarpi alami dan partenokarpi buatan. Pisang, tomat, dan manggis merupakan contoh tanaman yang bersifat partenokarpi alami. Pembetukan buah partenokarpi dapat dilakukan melalui beberapa cara diantaranya adalah penggunaan hormone auksin/giberelin, iridiasi polen, perubahan jumlah kromosom, gene  silencing, modifikasi gen, dan genome editing tools. Review ini menjelaskan mengenai pembentukan buah partenokarpi melalui pendekatan bioteknologi.Kata Kunci: Bioteknologi, partenokarpi alami, partenokarpi buatan, buah  AbstractFruit is a reproductive organ that plays an important role in plants for plant propagation and seed dispersal. Seeds will be formed due to the process of pollination and fertilization. In some types of fruit, seed in the fruit is not expected, therfore recently many study have been conducted to develop seedless fruit (parthenocarpic fruit). Seedless fruit consists of two main groups namely natural and artificial partenocarpic. Bananas, tomatoes, and mangosteen are examples of natural parthenocarpy plants. Artificial parthenokarpi fruit can be developed in several methods including the use of plant hormone i.e. auksin or gibberellin, pollen iridiation, changes in chromosome number, gene silencing, gene modification, and genome editing tools. Abstract

Buah naga adalah salah satu komoditas buah yang termasuk dalam jenis kaktus yang dapat tumbuh di daerah kering dan lahan yang kurang produktif seperti di Kabupaten Pangandaran. Pengetahuan masyarakat sekitar tentang buah naga bagus, tetapi pengetahuan tentang budidaya dan perbanyakan buah naga masih kurang. Sehingga pasokan bahan tanaman masih sulit diperoleh dan membutuhkan biaya tinggi bagi petani karena semakin banyaknya peminat dalam budidaya buah naga. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini dengan menyediakan bahan tanam secara mandiri. Teknik perbanyakan tanaman tanaman buah naga seperti perbanyakan vegetatif yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas hasil dan nilai ekonomi buah naga. Untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan minat masyarakat dapat dilakukan dengan memberikan bantuan dalam teknik perbanyakan tanaman tanaman buah naga. Daerah yang digunakan sebagai mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah Desa Cintaratu, Kabupaten Parigi, Kabupaten Pangandaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pendampingan adalah pengobatan perbanyakan buah naga, praktik perbanyakan, dan pembuatan demplot penanaman. Hasil pengayaan menunjukkan bahwa antusiasme dan minat yang tinggi dari masyarakat dalam mendapatkan pengetahuan dan informasi tentang teknik perbanyakan tanaman buah naga di daerah tersebut dan bersedia bekerja sama dalam program berikutnya.

Abstract

Krisis pangan di dunia disebabkan oleh pertumbuhan penduduk yang pesat dengan populasi di tahun 2015mencapai 7,3 milyar dan tahun 2050 diperkirakan mencapai 9 – 12 milyar dan dengan ketersediaan pangan sekarang,terdapat 27% populasi dunia yang masih mengalami krisis makanan. Solusi untuk meningkatkan ketersediaan pangandapat dilakukan dengan teknologi plant factory. Pemanfaatan plant factory diharapkan dapat mengatasi permasalahanserangan Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman (OPT), gangguan faktor iklim, minimalisir penggunaan pestisida, sertapenggunaan lahan yang tidak terpakai atau tidak dapat ditanami tanaman seperti lahan bekas limbah, pertambangan,ataupun gedung – gedung sehingga kualitas dan kuantitas produk dapat meningkat. Plant factory memiliki berbagaitipe berdasarkan pencahayaan dan sistem penanaman yang dapat disesuaikan bedasarkan lingkungan dan tanamanyang ditanam. Konsep plant factory adalah menciptakan lingkungan yang terkendali seperti cahaya, kadar karbondioksida, suhu, kelembaban, air, dan nutrisi sehingga sesuai untuk pertumbuhan tanaman. Akan tetapi, kendala dalamplant factory adalah memerlukan biaya dan energi yang lebih tinggi untuk konstruksi, alat, dan operasional.Penanaman tanaman sayuran dengan plant factory di Indonesia akan optimal dengan menggunakan plant factorybertipe pencahayaan matahari atau setengah artificial untuk memanfaatkan sumber daya alam yang ada dan tipesistem penanaman multistage untuk tanaman yang pendek dan flat untuk tanaman yang tinggi dapat meningkatkanprodukstivitas tanaman.Kata kunci : Sayuran; Plant factory; Indonesia

Abstract

SOCIALIZATION OF DRAGON FRUIT CULTURE FOR COASTAL REGION IN CINTARATU VILLAGE, PARIGI, DISTRICT OF PANGANDARAN. Dragon fruit is one type of potential fruits to be developed in the lowlands such as Pangandaran. Knowledge of dragon fruit cultivation in this area. An effort for the process of empowerment and community development for dragon fruit cultivation is with the socialization activities about the technology of dragon fruit cultivation. The purpose of this activity is to introduce dragon fruit plants to be cultivated in coastal areas of Pangandaran as one of the sources of food that rich with nutrition and support the improvement the nutrition of the community and allows to be an additional income for community. This activity was conducted in Cintaratu Village, Parigi, Pangandaran City by seminar and making the demonstration plot. The seminar was introduction of dragon fruit, explanation about the superiority and importance of dragon fruit as a source of nutrition, and also technology of dragon fruit cultivation in coastal area. In addition to making the demonstration plot (demplot) of dragon fruit on farmers' land. The results of this activities showed that there looks enthusiastic society to know more about what is the dragon fruit and how the dragon fruit culture techniques, so the dragon fruit in the area can develop. Abstract

APPLICATION OF DRAGON FRUIT CULTIVATION TECHNOLOGY FOR COASTAL AREAS IN KALIJAGA VILLAGE, HARJAMUKTI DISTRICT, CIREBON CITY. Dragon fruit is one of the growing fruit commodities and is widely known in Indonesia. The distribution process has reached all of Indonesia. The development of dragon fruit in West Java itself is still said to be low, so it is necessary to increase or open a new area for the cultivation process which directly helps in terms of land and water conservation. In West Java alone, one location that has the potential to become a dragon fruit cultivation area is the City of Cirebon. Cirebon City is a strategic city that connects West Java and Central Java. However, the condition of the land in Cirebon is mostly unproductive. So it is necessary to find ways to increase the productivity of the land, namely through the application of technology to cultivate dragon fruit plants in coastal areas. To increase public awareness to reproduce agricultural land in the area, one of them is the process of mentoring the introduction of suitable types of plants grown in the area and appropriate cultivation technology for the area. The area that will be used as partners for this activity is Kalijaga Village, Kec. Harjamukti by involving two farmer groups, Sekar Maju, and Sidemung. The method that will be carried out in this assistance is the process of counseling, practice and making demonstration plots of dragon fruit planting that can be used as a learning tool in the area. From the results of the counseling, it was seen that the community's enthusiasm was high to want to know more about dragon fruit and how to cultivate dragon fruit in the area, so that dragon fruit in the area could develop.

Abstract

SOCIALIZATION OF INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT IN CINTARATU VILLAGE, PARIGI DISTRICT, PANGANDARAN REGENCY. Dragon fruit plant is one of the plants that can be planted in unproductive areas such as in Pangandaran Regency, West Java Province. The problem faced in the cultivation of dragon fruit plants in the area is the high potential for pest attack. Efforts can be made to overcome these problems by increasing the insight and expertise of rural villagers through recovery both materially and in demonstration plot practices. The purpose of this activity is to increase farmers' insight into information on pests and diseases in dragon fruit plants and its integrated handling technology. This activity was carried out in Cintaratu Village, Parigi District, Pangandaran District with an active participatory method in the form of counseling on pest attacks on dragon fruit plants as well as integrated pest management technologies on dragon fruit plants. This program has succeeded in informing about pest attacks and integrated handling technologies on dragon fruit plants in coastal areas. This success was shown based on the responses of enthusiastic extension participants and their interest in applying the technology to the cultivation of dragon fruit plants that they manage. The results of this activity can be seen in the increase in yields from the dragon orchards managed by local residents.

Abstract

Salah satu jenis tanaman hortikultura penting yang banyak dikembangkan di Indonesia adalah tanamantomat (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill). Beberapa cara dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan produksi dan kualitastanaman yang salah satunya adalah dengan mendapatkan varietas unggul baru. Pada tahapan ini maka perludiseleksi terlebih dahulu jenis tomat yang mempunyai hasil baik dan toleran terhadap gangguan organismepenggangu tanaman (OPT). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan kultivar tomat yang baik dari segipertumbuhan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber genetik untuk bahan persilangan. Dalam percobaan inidilakukan identifikasi dan karakterisasi 11 kultivar tomat hasil introduksi yang terdiri dari A: ‘Oxheart’; B:‘Moskvich’; C: ‘Valencia’; D: ‘Marmande’; E: ‘Moneymaker’; F: ‘La Sweetie’; G: ‘Principle Borghese’; H:‘Golden Sunrise’; I: ‘Red Cherry’; J: ‘Black Cherry’; dan K: ‘Golden Jubille’. Hasil pengamatanam menunjukkanbahwa setiap kultivar tomat introduksi mempunyai respon pertumbuhan yang berbeda. Tomat ‘Black Cherry’menunjukan respon pertumbuhan yang terbaik dengan pertimbangan tinggi tanaman, tinggi tandan pertama,diameter batang tanaman, jumlah bunga per tandan, dan jumlah buah per tandan.Serta mempunyai ketahananterhadap serangan organisme pengganggu.Kata kunci: introduksi, pertumbuhan, tomatABSTRACTOne of the important horticultural crops in Indonensia is Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.). Severalmethods can be used to improve productivity and quality of tomato such as by generating new tomato cultivar withdesired characters. To generate new cultivars therefore new selection in parental tomato is needed to get thepotential parental tomato as genetic background. The purpose of this study was to find out the potential tomatocultivars such as high productivity and quality, adaptive grown in Indonesia and also resistant to pest and disease.Eleven tomato cultivars introduction was used in this experiment consisted of A: 'Oxheart'; B: 'Moskvich'; C:'Valencia'; D: 'Marmande'; E: 'Moneymaker'; F: 'La Sweetie'; G: 'Principle Borghese'; H: 'Golden Sunrise'; I:'Red Cherry'; J: 'Black Cherry'; and K: 'Golden Jubille'. The results showed that each introduced tomato cultivarhas a different response to environmental condition. Tomato ‘Black Cherry’ showed the best plant growthcompared to other cultivars. It had the highest plant height; shoot diameter, no of flower per truss, and no of fruitper truss. It also showed as a resistant cultivar to the pest and disease.Keywords: introduction, plant growth, tomato
