Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the teachers’ questioning strategy in teaching English at SMKN 7 Luwu Utara. The method that was applied in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. There were 2 English teachers as the sample of this research. Data collection of this research through interview and questionnaire. The result of data analysis showed that the teachers used questioning strategies by applying some types of question in each sessions of teaching. During the interview the researcher found that the first teacher only used a probing question and divergent question, while the second teacher only used a higher order question. So, from the whole between the first teacher and the second teacher after the researcher analyzed from the interview and questionnaire, the researcher found that the questioning strategies used by the teacher were probing questions, divergent questions and higher order questions. As for the strategy question that often appears or is often used by teachers, namely the probing question strategy.

Abstract

This research aims at finding out the forms of rejection language used of English lecturer in teaching learning process. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The population in this research was English lecturer that consist of two lecturers and the researcher took the lecturers totally as the sample. The instrument of this research were observation and interview. The results of the data analysis explained that two major finding. First, in this research is she found that the forms of rejection language used of English lecturers. Second is the researcher revealed that the reason of English lecturer used rejection language. The researcher found that the most used English lecturers in learning process were rejection language in the form of declarative speech. It is shown from finding that all of the rejection language that used of English lecturers were 12 utterances where rejection language in the form of declarative speech were 5, the rejection language in the form of imperative speech were 5 and the rejection language in the form of interrogative speech. So, the researcher concludes that the English lecturers more like used rejection language in the form of declarative speech. It was caused that the rejection language has big influence to the activity of students in teaching learning process.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsiskan prosesi pernikahan, fungsi dan tujuan dalam prosesi pernikahan masyarakat Luwu. . Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dan data terdiri dari wawancara dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif. Pada prosesi pernikahan adat bugis dan mayarakat luwu, ada beberapa hal yang harus dilengkapi atau dipersiapkan sebelum acara mata gau (acara inti). Hal yang seperti ini jika salah satu dari bagian perlengkapan tidak ada maka nilai kesakralan prosesi pernikahan masyarakat luwu tidak sempurna, karena berdasarkan penelitian ini semua yang terkait dalam prosesi pernikahan masyarakat luwu itu memiliki makna tersendiri beserta memiliki fungsinya masing-masing. Adapun nilai-nilai yang terdapat dalam prosesi pernikahan ini yaitu nilai budaya, nilai sosial, dan nilai agama
