Abstract

The Netherlands have tried very hard to increase their renewable energy sources (RES) shares to fulfill the European Union target in 2050. However, RES performance did not show the expected result as the performance declined in 2009 producing even wider gap compare to the target. The Dutch government’s tried to incorporate all interested stakeholders by forming the Dutch energy transition task force. Nevertheless, the task force’s result is also not showing a desirable trend. Key reasons behind the Dutch low RES performance are the lack of shared understanding and positive attitude toward RES development among interested actors. This research uses a role-playing game to increase shared understanding and positive attitude within the actors. The game set players in a competing role as the government, an energy company and the end user. Players were given the ability to make decisions on their respective area. A pilot study was then conducted to measure the effectiveness of the game. The pilot study showed the game increased actor’s individual understanding and shared understanding. Moreover, it also showed that the game increases actor’s positive attitude toward RES development in the Netherlands.

Abstract

This research analyzes the influence of macroeconomic factors on Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) in Batang City in the 2020-2023 period. Using monthly data from Bank Indonesia and the Central Statistics Agency, this research applies the Vector Autoregression-Vector Error Correction Model (VAR-VECM) method to see the short-term and long-term relationship between PNBP and variables such as Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), inflation, exchange rates, and interest rates. The research results show that macroeconomic factors significantly influence PNBP in the long term, although the influence is not visible in the short term. Policymakers need to pay attention to a combination of external and internal factors, such as fiscal and monetary policies, to optimize state revenues from non-tax sources in the future. This research also emphasizes the importance of sustainable policy planning to anticipate the long-term impact of global economic fluctuations on PNBP.

Abstract

There has been a decreasing trend in Indonesia’s energy efficiency. Indonesia’s energy efficiency decreased at the annual rate of 1.4 % over the last 27 years from $ 246.23 per million Btus in 1980 to $ 165.51 per million Btus in 2007. In the absence of initiatives by the government as well as the citizens to improve energy efficiency, Indonesia’s energy efficiency will decline gradually in the next 25 years by around 45.51 %. This study attempts to address this policy problem by providing policy recommendations based on in-depth analysis and evaluation of the policy alternatives.
