Abstract

This study focuses on the use of social media in fulfilling information needs by students of the Da'wah and Communication Sciences Faculty at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. This study uses Information Seeking theory applied by Wilson. According to Wilson, the information needs as a consequence of a need felt by information users who expect their needs to be fulfilled, then search for information through sources and information services which result in success or failure to find information and choose to use that information or make comparisons information that has been found before. The research method used is quantitative descriptive and questionnaire as a data collection technique. From the results of questionnaires to 93 respondents consisting of 2015, 2016 and 2017 Da'wah and Communication Faculty Students, it was found that the level of information processing behavior through social media in meeting information needs by Da'wah and Communication Sciences students was hight.

Abstract

Radio is the oldest and most flexible electronic mass media. The new media as mentioned has resulted in the radio being abandoned by the audience and turning to choosing new media as information and entertainment. Survey conducted by a Nielsen survey institute in 2014, stated that every year radio listeners decreased by 3%. The purpose of this study is to find out and explain the motives and satisfaction of the Dhara FM radio listeners in the city of Pariaman in listening to radio in the new media era. This study uses descriptive quantitative research methods. Describe systematically, factually, and accurately about the facts and nature of the population and try to describe phenomena in detail. The data source is a questionnaire. The analysis used is descriptive analysis.  Results that can be taken from this study are entertainment motives and the motives of interaction and social integration have a significant influence in influencing the satisfaction of the Dhara FM radio listeners Pariaman. Satisfaction obtained by listeners can be seen from the persistence of radio listeners in listening to the radio. Motives have a strong enough influence to achieve listener satisfaction.

Abstract

In organizations that have a very important role in advancing the organization or making the setback of the organization is the leader. In every time and condition a leader must pay attention to how he must communicate, both verbal communications, namely speaking lisa, how to speak words and also how to communicate non-verbal that is seen from in terms of how to behave, behave, facial expressions, and body language when dealing with subordinates. The research method is descriptive qualitative. Communication can take place well if there is mutual understanding between the sender and receiver of the message, so there is an understanding of an idea or ideas. Through good understanding, the purpose of communication to provide stimulation for attitude changes will be easily achieved. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the leadership style of communication towards subordinates in the organization, and to find out the obstacles of the role of the leadership style of communication to subordinates in the organization
