Abstract

This paper examines the concept of God according to Abul Kalam Azad as it is expressed textually in his book Basic Concept of the Quran. It further elaborates on how does Abul Kalam Azad understands the concept of Divinity and how does he construct it as a basic value of human life. He argues that the One was the very first of human belief in God. It was later that the initial belief in God took a retrogressive turn, where the common people attempt to bodying the Almighty Being into some attributes for the sake of analogy of their own qualities. This idea suggests that Azad was of the scholars who hold that the archeology of human belief in the divinity of God is originated from the belief in the One. Azad has also argued that both verses of QS. 10: 19 and QS. 2: 213, which literally refers to “one single community”, alluded to refer as “one religion”, which means “One God.” This type of language game played by Azad has significantly contributed to favor his idea on monotheism and the Oneness of God. Keywords: Abul Kalam Azad, Theology, God, Monotheism.

Abstract

This research talks about contract marriage or in Islam known as mut'ah marriage. The marriage of a contract is a marriage which is done according to the time specified. When time is up then  man can leave the woman. According by Ammianus Mercellinus, such marriages were practiced by Arabs around the 4th century AD. This news needs to be clarified because existence of women abandoned by men is probably not in terms of marriage but they only help mas to prepare in war. In Islam, once allowed to marry contract because Sahabat have not long left period of ignorance and infidelity. It is allowed under conditions in an emergency such as it is permissible for eating pork. Even many narrations that tell about mut'ah marriage and made sub in the book of al-sittah. Ibn Hajar explain the history of al-Bukhari, that contract marriage was ever allowed, then banned in the end. Sayyidina Ali RA, at the end of his story he was commented that  allow of contract marriage was removed. The permissibility of mut'ah marriage in the pre-war khaibar era was then banned in the khaibar war. Allowed again when the conquest of Mecca when the war aut’as forbidden forever. Law of mut'ah marriage is forbidden those who do marriage mut'ah or al-nikah al-Muaqqat become void. Allow of mut'ah marriage in Islam only in  war time emergency as described above. Imam mazhahib arbi'ah agree that mut'ah marriage is equal to al-nikah al-muaqqat. Besides, they also agree whether the agreement is openly or hidden remain void. Besides to the nass that is  history sahih of the Prophet SAW, the marriage of the contract does not match  purpose of  marriage.

Abstract

This article explores the interpretation of the Hadith concerning the forbiddance of soliciting gifts, as seen through the lens of Egyptian-born Islamic scholar Yusuf al-Qardhawi, born in 1926. Al-Qardhawi's approach to interpreting Hadiths plays a crucial role in comprehending Islamic principles in daily life. A proper understanding of the Hadith should align with the directives of the Qur'an, consolidate similar traditions, and corroborate the Hadith with historical realities. The analysis of the Hadith on the forbiddance of soliciting gifts underscores the significance of harmonizing the Hadith with Qur'anic guidance for a comprehensive and coherent grasp of Islamic doctrines. Al-Qardhawi maintains a balanced perspective of the Sunnah and emphasizes the need to comprehend the Sunnah within the framework of tashri', religious studies, and civilization. The hadith's prohibition against begging reiterates it as forbidden, with exceptions for certain individuals who meet specific criteria. As such, examining the Hadith on the forbiddance of soliciting gifts from Yusuf al-Qardhawi's viewpoint offers valuable perspectives on the application of Islamic teachings in everyday life.

Abstract

Study of Term Millah 'Abd Al-Muṭṭalib in the Hadith Narrated by Ibn Hibban no. 982 and its Relation to the Problem of Abu Talib’s FaithAbu Talib's problem is centered on the issue of faith or disbelief. Some scholars are of the opinion that Abu Talib was a disbeliever because until the end of his life he was reluctant to pronounce the shahada. However, some argue that Abu Talib is a believer because of his great care and love for the Prophet Muhammad so that Allah glorifies him. In this regard, in the hadith narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān it is stated that Abu Talib died holding fast to millah 'Abd al-Muṭṭalib. With this, this study aims to examine more deeply the meaning of millah 'Abd al-Muṭṭalib in the hadith narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān no. 982 as one of the efforts to strengthen the argument that Abu Talib died in a state of faith. This research is a type of qualitative research with the type of library research. The results of this research show that the meaning of Millah 'Abd al-Muṭṭalib contained in the hadith narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān no. 982 which has the meaning of monotheism religion. In this case, it means that Abu Talib is a follower of the hanif religion which unites Allah SWT, as adhered to by his father Abdul Muttalib. Abu Talib believed in his heart that he justified Islamic teachings, but he never professed his faith with the intention of protecting the Prophet Muhammad from the heinous acts of the Quraysh infidels. So that Abu Talib was classified as a believer in his lifetime until the end of his life, and not a disbeliever

Abstract

This study examines the role of women leaders in transforming village governance amidst the dominance of patriarchal culture. The primary objective is to uncover the experiences and leadership strategies employed by women in implementing significant changes within rural communities. Utilizing a qualitative method with descriptive analysis, data were collected through in-depth interviews with the village head, local officials, and residents of Metatu village. By adopting postcolonial feminist theory as an analytical framework, this research highlights the social, cultural, and structural challenges faced by women leaders. The findings reveal that they have implemented the digitalization of public services, enhanced community participation, and leveraged Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) to increase local revenue (PAD). Despite employing transformational leadership strategies based on collaboration and effective communication, women leaders continue to face resistance and encounter a double bind in decision-making processes. These findings underscore the necessity of structural support and policy reforms to optimize the role of women in village governance

Abstract

This study analyzes the validity of ablution for women who use waterproof henna. Wudhu, as one of the main forms of worship in Islam, requires perfection in its execution, including ensuring water can reach all the required body parts. The emergence of waterproof cosmetics such as henna has triggered questions regarding the validity of wudhu for its users. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method that focuses on analyzing the matan of the hadith. The criteria of matan validity based on the perspective of scholars such as Muhammad al-Ghazali and Subhi Sholih form the basis of this research. The results show that waterproof henna can prevent ablution water from reaching the skin, making ablution invalid. Therefore, users of waterproof henna need to ensure that the material has been cleaned before wudhu. This study also provides theoretical and practical insights for Muslim women as well as scholars to understand the correct ablution procedure according to Islamic law. The study recommends practical steps in addressing the use of waterproof cosmetics to maintain the validity of worship.
