Abstract

A 12-year-old female Siberian Husky dog ​​was taken to the Animal Education Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya with complaints of meat or mass in the gum area, this has been going on for ± 1 month, but the dog still wants to eat. Physical examination found that the dog's body temperature was 38.9 ºC and heart rate 100 x/minute, and found a medium-sized mass in the gums, there are a lot of tartar and bad breath. Radiographic examination results showed the presence of radioopacity of the mandibular dexter region. The results of blood tests show leukocytosis, lymphocytosis and monocytosis are indications of inflammation. The diagnosis of this patient's disease is odontoma. Therapy is carried out by surgical action of mass extirpation, extraction of the surrounding teeth and cleaning of tartar. Post-surgery given antiseptics, corticosteroids and supplements, and dogs are allowed to go home after 1 day of post-surgical treatment because the condition has improved.

Abstract

Pyometra merupakan infeksi pada uterus yang bersifat akut maupun kronis dengan adanya akumulasi cairan pus (nanah) didalam uterus. Pyometra terdiri atas dua jenis yaitu pyometra terbuka dan pyometra tertutup. Tulisan ini melaporkan penanganan kasus pyometra di Klinik Hewan Pendidikan Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Brawijaya. Seekor kucing Mainecoon dibawa pemiliknya datang dengan keluhan pada vagina keluar lendir sejak beberapa hari sebelum dibawa ke klinik. Kucing sudah dua kali melahirkan dan belum pernah dilakukan steril (ovariohisterektomi) sebelumnya. Pemeriksaan penunjang yang dilakukan berupa ultrasonografi, radiografi, hematologi, dan kimia darah. Hasil pencitraan ultrasonografi dan radiografi didapati adanya penimbunan cairan di dalam uterus dan dinding uterus tampak terjadi penebalan. Terapi pengobatan suportif menggunakan kombinasi Sanpicillin®, Cefotaxime®, Clavamox®, Methylgometrin, Entrostop®, Neurobion white®, Neurobion red®, Flagyl syrup, dan terapi cairan (Infus NS). Kucing menunjukkan adanya kemajuan selama perawatan dan dinyatakan sembuh setelah mendapatkan pengobatan suportif tanpa dilakukan tindakan operasi

Abstract

An English Bulldog named Dexter were admitted at Brawijaya University Veterinary Teaching Hospital with the anamnesis of undergoing a trauma of being hit by a car. The dog presented with avoiding using left hind leg, limping and pain when palpated. Radiographic imaging showed a closed complete fracture on distal femur, at the supracondylar region. The treatment for this case is using condylar plate and intramedullary pen (rod). There were no complication and the dog were sent go home after 6 day's post-surgery.
