Abstract

Mother's Milk (ASI) is the only type of food that meets all the elements of a baby's physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. Breast milk contains nutrients, hormones, insecurity, anti-allergy, and anti-inflammatory. Nutrients in breast milk include nearly 200 nutrients (Puspitasari, 2016). Exclusive breast milk is a baby who is only given breast milk, without the addition of other fluids such as formula milk, oranges, honey, tea water, water, and without the addition of solid foods such as bananas, papaya, milk porridge, biscuits, rice porridge, and team (Roesli, 2005). This research is a quantitative research using Correlative Descriptive design with an intermittent cross sectional approach. With a sample of respondents are mothers who have children aged 6 - 24 months, the sampling technique of this study is Accidental Sampling. Bivariate analysis used is Chi-square statistic. From the bivariate results there is no relationship between maternal age and the effectiveness of breastfeeding, there is no relationship between maternal age and the effectiveness of breastfeeding, there is a relationship between education and the effectiveness of breastfeeding, there is no relationship between education and the effectiveness of breastfeeding, there is a relationship between knowledge and the effectiveness of breastfeeding, there is no the relationship between parity with the effectiveness of breastfeeding. Suggestions from researchers For health workers to improve the quality of related health services continue to be improved, for mothers and families it is hoped that they can add information to families and the importance of researchers increasing the effectiveness of exclusive breastfeeding to increase infant life expectancy through exclusive breastfeeding, to increase knowledge about health, especially in health.

Abstract

Benson Relaxation is the development of a relaxation response method by involving the patient's belief factor. Relaxation using breathing techniques commonly used in hospitals in patients who are experiencing pain or experiencing anxiety. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Benson relaxation on pain intensity in postoperative patients at Imelda Pekerja Indonesian Hospital in Medan. This type of research is Quasy experimental design with one group pretest and posttest. The population in this study amounted to 30 postoperative patients at Imelda Pekerja Indonesian Hospital in Medan. The population of this study were all postoperative patients as many as 30 patients. Sampling technique used is Non Probity Sampling with Totally Sampling method. The data collection method used observation sheets before and after the Benson relaxation was given. The statistical test used in this study was the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05) and a p value of 0.00 < 0.05. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the Benson relaxation technique on the pain scale in postoperative patients at the Imelda Pekerja Indonesian Hospital Medan in 2022

Abstract

Background: Pregnancy is a critical period in human development, characterized by the physiological and psychological interactions between the mother and the fetus. During this period, the mother plays an essential role in supporting fetal growth and development until childbirth. In the third trimester, pregnant women must be aware of potential danger signs that may indicate pregnancy-related complications. This study aimed to explore mothers’ perceptions of danger signs during the third trimester of pregnancy.Methods: A descriptive qualitative research design was employed. The study population consisted of 28 third-trimester pregnant women, from whom seven participants were selected as the study sample. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. The study was conducted at the Independent Midwifery Practice of Hj. Sesmera, located on Jalan Aluminium IV, Tanjung Mulia, Medan City, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Data collection was carried out from May to August 2024.Results: The findings revealed three major themes: mothers’ perceptions regarding the recognition of danger signs, management of danger signs, and sources of information related to danger signs during the third trimester of pregnancy. These themes were further categorized into several subthemes.Conclusion: Mothers’ perceptions of pregnancy danger signs were influenced by multiple sources of information, including healthcare providers, family members, technology, and the community. Among these factors, support from family and healthcare professionals emerged as the most influential in shaping mothers’ perceptions and enhancing their awareness of danger signs during the third trimester of pregnancy.
