Abstract

Production at that time was carried out with the company's needs, even during a pandemic, it was necessary to carry out operations that were optimally applied in production. The 5M model (wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds and limiting mobility) to be implemented in Production is quite difficult, so it needs a special design that describes operations that maintain health in conditions of continuous production. The habit of workers who carry out activities that violate the process is considered a must to do, even though these activities have the potential to spread the virus. Lack of awareness of workers who do not pay too much attention to calls to implement health protocols.

Abstract

This study analyzes production capacity improvement at PT Asahimas Flat Glass Tbk using discrete-event simulation with ProModel. Empirical data were collected through observations, time studies, interviews, and production records to develop and validate a simulation model that reflects actual production conditions. Initial simulations identified a bottleneck in the assembly process, limiting output to 35 units per hour. Two improvement scenarios were evaluated, with the second alternative involving the addition of one operator at the assembly workstation. Results showed a significant increase in production output to 78 units per hour, with a moderate increase in operational costs from Rp 21,100,000 to Rp 24,600,000. These findings confirm that appropriate labor allocation based on simulation analysis effectively improves production performance and manufacturing efficiency.

Abstract

Kualitas produk merupakan faktor kritis dalam menjaga daya saing industri manufaktur tekstil. PT. Indorama Polychem Indonesia memproduksi benang Drawn Textured Yarn (DTY) yang dalam periode Januari hingga Agustus 2025 mencatat sebanyak 6.214 bobin tidak memenuhi standar dari total 2.293.287 unit produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis cacat dominan, menganalisis penyebabnya, dan memberikan usulan perbaikan menggunakan metode Statistical Process Control (SPC). Data sekunder berupa data produksi dan cacat diolah menggunakan alat-alat SPC meliputi peta kendali-P, diagram Pareto, dan diagram sebab akibat. Hasil peta kendali-P menunjukkan terdapat dua bulan yang berada di luar batas kendali, yaitu bulan Juni dan Agustus. Diagram Pareto mengidentifikasi cacat DP M/C sebagai cacat paling dominan (33%), diikuti XST (23%), LF (22%), dan BF (10%). Analisis diagram sebab akibat mengungkapkan bahwa faktor penyebab utama meliputi kurangnya ketelitian operator (man), ketidakstabilan mesin (machine), kualitas bahan baku POY yang tidak memenuhi standar (material), serta penerapan SOP yang belum optimal (method). Usulan perbaikan disusun menggunakan pendekatan 5W+1H untuk mengatasi akar penyebab tersebut secara sistematis.
