Abstract

Family resilience as a potential family situation in realizing the welfare of life. This discourse needs to be introduced to teenagers of marriageable age to form their identity as potential family subjects. This community service focuses on efforts to build family resilience through marriage guidance for groups of married-age teenagers who live in a rural village where household problems often occur. This community service uses a Problem based Service Learning method model with an effort to provide problem solving to community partners. The conclusive results of this service show that: (1) marriage guidance for adolescents of marriageable age is a relevant effort to form identity in building family resilience; (2) marriage guidance through socialization of the Marriage Law with religious teachings that are more easily absorbed by rural communities of the religious type; (3) the provision of marriage guidance activities with collaboration between service learning actors and community partners is better able to increase community participation

Abstract

From 2020 to 2022, Sidoarjo Regency has identified a surge in family conflicts triggered by wives' protests. Evidence includes an increase in divorce filings, child neglect, and internal family conflicts due to frustration. Therefore, it is necessary to educate the community through outreach activities on building family resilience, emphasizing the role of the wife in the family. Islamic family law based on maqasid al-Shari'ah was chosen as the outreach material because it is relevant and more acceptable to the wives in Sidoarjo Regency, the majority of whom are Muslims. The organized young mothers of Fatayat NU were selected as the target audience. The service method used was service learning, an approach that combines academic teaching with finding appropriate problem-solving solutions for the community. The results of this community service showed an increase in understanding among the young mothers of Fatayat NU in Sidoarjo Regency about strategies for building family resilience through the role of the wife post-pandemic, based on the concept of Islamic family law rooted in maqasid al-Shari'ah.

Abstract

This Community Service Program is designed to revive Nabawi moral education within peri-urban Muslim families through a participatory service learning approach. The main focus of the program is to strengthen family resilience amidst the wave of digitalization that brings various social and spiritual challenges. The partner community, the congregation of Musholla Al-Fattah in Prasung Village, Sidoarjo, faces issues such as declining face-to-face interaction, increasing individualistic attitudes, weak parental supervision over gadget use, reduced attention to worship and morality, as well as the threat of children and adolescents becoming involved in online gambling practices. The program was carried out through five main stages: identifying family resilience needs, conducting interactive thematic studies of the Sirah Nabawiyah, collective reflection, participatory evaluation, and celebrating the learning outcomes. The core product was the internalization of moral values through the study of the Sirah Nabawi, with emphasis on the principles of ṣidq (honesty), amānah (responsibility), ḥilm (patience), raḥmah (compassion), and istiqāmah (consistency). The study was structured in an applicative manner and tailored to the local family context of the congregation. The results of the program demonstrated the emergence of family awareness regarding spiritual and social roles, strengthened communication among family members, and active involvement of the congregation in moral education. This PKM highlights the urgency of Nabawi-based moral education as the foundation of family resilience in peri-urban Muslim communities, while also recommending the development of similar studies that are adaptive, reflective, and sustainable in other communities with comparable dynamics.
