Abstract

Basically, the study of the Qur’an does not always focus on the text (or what is in the text), exegesis or research into its science and knowledge. The study can be extended to the fields of anthropology and sociology of religion in examing how people use the Qur'an in their daily lives. This is the so-called “living Qur'an” and the article seeks to introduce developments in mainstream Qur’anic research into the “living Qur'an”. This is a field which has not yet received sufficient attention in textual studies of the Qur’an. Studying the Qur’an within the context of the “living Qur'an” can present an interesting alternative approach for contemporary times.

Abstract

Al-Qur’an dan Terjemahnja, published by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), has often been criticized by scholars for reflecting gender-biased interpretations. However, the revisions conducted between 1998 and 2002 indicate attempts to address gender-related concerns in the Indonesian translation of the Qur’an. This article examines how gender discourse influenced the revision of the translation during the Reformasi period. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and Roger Fowler’s critical discourse analysis, this study analyzes linguistic changes introduced in the revised edition of Al-Qur’an dan Terjemahnja. The analysis shows that several translation choices were modified to reflect a more gender-responsive perspective. For instance, the term wanita was replaced with perempuan, the description of women’s creation was reformulated, and the term pemimpin (leader) was translated as pelindung (protector). In addition, women were no longer consistently positioned as direct objects of male desire. These revisions indicate a shift from a more patriarchal orientation toward a gender-responsive translation. The study argues that this transformation was closely linked to the expanding gender discourse during the Reformasi era, particularly the institutionalization of gender mainstreaming policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Modern educational leadership in 2026 is often trapped by rigid bureaucracy, ignoring the moral-spiritual aspects of the Quran as a complete guide to life. The gap between formal power orientation and the integrity of the murabbi (leader) is a major problem hindering the substantial development of the teaching profession. This study aims to explore the synergy between managerial practices and prophetic values at SDIT Rafflesia Depok through a mixed-methods sequential exploratory design. The research began with a qualitative phase through participant observation and in-depth interviews with thirty-seven participants, followed by quantitative measurement using a questionnaire instrument with proven reliability. The study findings revealed that the systematic internalization of the qualities of shiddiq (honest), amanah (trustworthy), fathonah (faithful), and tabligh (prophetic) can create policy transparency and a healthy organizational culture. The principal acts as a good example, empowering teachers through the use of smart technology and collective knowledge-sharing sessions. Quantitatively, the management of forty personnel and four hundred and eighty-three students resulted in a highly significant level of parental satisfaction. The main conclusion confirms that the integration of Quranic values into school leadership is not merely a formality, but rather a key driver in building a competitive, holistic educational ecosystem. The prophetic leadership paradigm has proven effective in enhancing the pedagogical competence and moral fortitude of teaching staff amidst the dynamics of massive global change and challenges in today's digital era, enabling them to realize the profile of a noble civilization. ABSTRAK Kepemimpinan pendidikan modern tahun 2026 sering terjebak birokrasi kaku, mengabaikan aspek moral-spiritual Al-Qur'an sebagai pedoman hidup paripurna.
