Abstract

implementation of mina padi on agricultural land is carried out by maintaining fish between rice plants in the fields that utilize the puddles of rice fields as a place for fish cultivation. The existence of this maintenance system makes rice plants and fish experience mutualistic symbiosis. Where rice gets natural fertilizer from fish waste and fish food waste, and gets protection from fish from rice plant pests. Meanwhile, fish use rice plants as a place of protection against predators and get natural food from rice pests. The mina padi system in rice fields is still rarely found, this is due to the lack of information about the mina padi system so that farmers have not implemented it in rice fields. Based on the conditions above, the role of changing the mindset of rice farmer groups from a monoculture system to INSISMINDI is a challenge and opportunity to increase farmer income, especially partner farmer groups. From the cultivation activities of plants with the intensification of the rice-fish system that has been implemented, it can be concluded as follows: Cultivation of plants with the intensification of the rice-fish system can increase plant production, because this rice-fish planting system provides benefits including: (a) Soil fertility can be increased, (b) Weed growth can be suppressed, (c) the population of pests and diseases of rice plants can be suppressed, (d) Fish behavior in searching for food can improve soil structure. With the rice-fish planting system, land efficiency and productivity increase by 35% compared to cultivation without rice-fish (monoculture).

Abstract

Padang Luas Village, which is located in Kurau District, has long been known as one of the purun producing areas, especially the purun Tikus type in the southern region of Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province. It cannot be denied that the focus of purun plant utilization activities is not only related to increasing the productivity (volume) of results, but also increasing the quality of the purun produced. This is a factor that cannot be ignored, because product quality is the main reference for customers in determining the choice of variants spread on the market. This means that quantity and quality are two things that cannot be separated, on the one hand the volume of harvest must be able to maintain the stability of product needs, but on the other hand, product quality must not be neglected just because of pursuing the volume of market demand. Therefore, this service activity is focused on efforts to improve post- harvest quality based on processing purun into goods that can have economic and tourism value. Bearing in mind, until now the Purun farmer group in this area still uses manual methods which makes the process longer and quite tiring and has an impact on product quality. This has been accompanied by a transfer of technology to the Purun Tikus farmer group in the service area. The method used is as follows: (a). Counseling on strategies for improving the quality of purun purun Tikus commodities; (b). Training on transfer of technology for the use of purun plants; and (c) Discussion of the evaluation of the results of the counseling and training that has been carried out as recommendation material for community service activities in the following year

Abstract

Sungai Besar Village is located enroute the Parangtritis Beach, which is one of the main tourist destinations in the Banjar Region of Kalimantan Selatan. This village has the potential to develop into an agro-tourism area based on the natural resources and community participation. Presently, community-based agro-tourism is being developed in this area through the Gadjah Mada University Assisted Villprogram. Therefore, this programme aims to 1) Identify the potential of natural resources and village landscapes; 2) Increase community participation in developing villages; and 3) Empower natural resources and village communities for agro-tourism development. Data were obtained from community participation- based agro-tourism planning using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) method and the Training on Trainer system from September 2024. Furthermore, during the Covid 19 pandemic, tourism education was carried outusing an online method such as Google meet and whatsapp group platforms. Potential identification carried out by the community in Sungai Besar Village shows the potential for natural resource attractions based on tourism development. Furthermore, various natural resources as the potential of agro-tourism attractions have started to be empowered, including plant nurseries in the yard (pekarangan), peanut brittle, gula semut, and banana weevil chips well as a homestay. Therefore, the coordination of the inter-hamlet agro-tourism program at the village level still needs to be improved.
