Abstract

Tomu District's economy in general still adheres to the traditional system. Economic development efforts in Tomu District from traditional to modern system can be started by developing a home industri. One resource that can be utilized to develop the home industri in Tomu District is sago. Sago forest area in this district is wide enough, that is 51,804 ha. The purpose of this research is to figure out the market opportunity and financial feasibility of the sago industri development through UMKM in Tomu District. Based on the analysis, the projection of wet sago production of home industri in Tomu District is 320 Kg/trunk. The industri is expected to process 1 trunk of sago in a full day operation. In average, the industry can process approximately 20 trunks of sago per month. With the average selling price in Bintuni Regency is Rp. 15.000/Kg wet sago, then the average income earned in one production process is projected to reach Rp 39.474.417. The projection results of B/C ratio, NPV and IRR indicated that sago processing industry in Tomu District was financially feasible. It is then expected that the development of sago home industry in Tomu District can be operated in accordance with the projected price.

Abstract

fisheries in Fakfak Regency. This study used a survey method with direct interview techniques for respondents consisting of fishermen, collectors, retailers, wholesalers and processed fisheries traders. The results showed that, the largest income average of capture fisheries marketing institutions in Fakfak district was at large merchant institutions with a level of income of Rp. This is because large traders sell fish in very large quantities with the aim of selling outside the city of Fakfak. A very large cost is proportional to the income received by large traders. However, the lowest income is obtained by retail traders. Fishermen who have higher income from retailers and collectors are also associated with production costs that are not too large when compared to the purchase costs incurred by traders. The average production cost incurred by fishermen is Rp 2,392,272 which consists of fuel costs, storage costs and consumption costs.

Abstract

Creative economic is a sustainable development strategy in addressing slow economic growth that occurred in Indonesia as well as in Fakfak, a natural resources richest region. Economic structure alteration from agriculture as primary sector to industry and information sectors indicated the need of innovation and creativity as a new source of sustainable economic growth. Creative economic can be a solution to impove regional economic in Fakfak which have slow economic growth, and high number of unemployement. Result of Hirarchy Process Analysis (HPA) shows that culinary is a potential creative economic sector apart from craft and tourism. This is caused by highest scores that achieved from several supported elements in culinary sector such as human resources, natural resources, cost, market access, technology and infrastructure and institutions. The HPA result also indicated that local government through its economic policies has played important role in supporting kuliner sector as well as economic development program of BP Tangguh, bank and universities or academics. Therefore, increase production and product diversification of local resources based culinary is still needed.
