Abstract

This study investigates the impoliteness strategies in online comments in Liputan6.com. The objectives of this study are: 1) to investigate the types of impoliteness strategies used on online comments in website Liputan6.com, 2) to find out the dominant type of impoliteness strategies used on online comments in website Liputan6.com. This study was conducted by using qualitative content analysis method. The data were taken from comments of internet users in five topics of political news in Idntimes.com. The finding showed that four of five types of impoliteness strategies are used on online comments in website Liputan6.com. They are: Bald on Record, Positive impoliteness, Negative Impoliteness, and Sarcasm or Mock politeness. The dominant types is negative impoliteness by used scorn or ridicules comments and invade the other's space with that comments and explicitly associate the other with a negative aspect.

Abstract

Objek utama dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan gambar dalam pengajaran vocabulary (kosakata). Belajar tentang vocabulary adalah belajar tentang kumpulan kata-kata yang diketahui oleh semua individu. Vocabulary merupakan aspek yang penting dalam perkembangan bahasa. Banyak para ahli yang telah melakukan penelitian tentang pentingnya penguasaan kosakata dalam pembelajaran bahasa dan mereka menyimpulkan bahwa penting untuk membantu siswa mengembangkan vocabulary mereka melalui pengajaran formal dan informal. Metode ini digunakan untuk memperoleh data tentang kondisi awal siswa. Selain itu, observasi dilakukan untuk memperoleh data tentang tingkat akademik siswa dan penggunaan media gambar dalam pengajaran vocabulary. Metode observasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan bahasa akademis yang kompleks dan berada disekitar dengan detail bagaimana menggunakan metode ini dalam proyek penelitian ini.

Abstract

through the implementation of the scramble learning model within a Classroom Action Research (CAR) framework. The research was motivated by students’ difficulties in spelling vocabulary correctly, interpreting word meanings, pronouncing vowels accurately, and constructing grammatically sound sentences. The scramble model was applied over two learning cycles, incorporating group-based word games that required students to rearrange jumbled letters into correct vocabulary and use them in sentence formation. The study involved 25 students, with a minimum mastery criterion of 76 and a classical completeness target of 80%. Results showed a significant improvement: classical completeness increased from 65.66% in cycle I to 87.5% in cycle II, and the average score rose from 76.25 to 86.54. Gains were observed across all vocabulary indicators—form, meaning, pronunciation, and usage. These findings align with previous studies indicating that the scramble model is effective for enhancing vocabulary acquisition in elementary education. Therefore, the scramble model is recommended as an engaging, practical, and contextually relevant strategy for vocabulary instruction in primary schools.
