Abstract

This article is to find out the social layers of the Palembang people which began to emerge since the existence of the Palembang Sultanate. In addition to the natives, in the 19th century the population of Palembang had several ethnic groups that had a distinctive settlement in Palembang, namely Chinese, Arab, and Malay-Javanese Palembang. However, the social stratification of this society is focused on the Malay-Javanese community (Ilir Palembang area). During this sultanate, the population was divided into two major groups, namely the aristocratic aristocracy and the common people. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between layers of Malay-Javanese society (Ilir area of Palembang) and their role in each area of social stratification of society. This research is qualitative in nature using literature studies and interviews. The results showed that the people of Palembang, especially Malay-Javanese, had social layers, the area of social stratification of the people of Palembang had a role as a production area for the Palembang Sultanate Period, the Malay-Javanese people of Palembang had titles that determined the Goo-gook area, and Palembang community relations, especially Malay-Javanese. with immigrant communities such as ethnic Arabs, Chinese, and Indians they live side by side with high tolerance.

Abstract

Historical learning based on the important ethnic diversity was applied at schools to improve students’ tolerance. The history of ethnic diversity from the local level is still rarely studied. Students’ tolerance attitude in high school (SMA) is also still low. The reason was in the process of teaching and learning in the classroom, teachers more focused on the cognitive side of students. Students needed a varied learning model to develop an attitude of tolerance. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the history learning model of the diversity value from ethnic settlements in Palembang to improve the tolerance attitude of high school students. The application of this learning model using cooperative learning through problem-based learning (PBL) and value clarification technique (VCT). This research Quasi experiment with one control class and one experiment class. This research took sample of tenth grade students (class X) SMA Negeri 1 Muara Enim regency. Based on the result of the statistical test, the average of post-test class was 76,4 and the mean of post-test of control class was 73,7. While the value for the T test obtained 2.423 with a significance level of 0.019 <0.025.

Abstract

ducation can be formed through character education based on Islamic values. Character education in the concept of Islamic da'wah is based on the values contained in the Al-Quran. In the concept of Islamic da'wah students are taught aqidah as the basis of their religion, taught the Koran and hadith as a way of life, taught fiqh as legal signs in worship, taught Islamic history as an example of life, and taught morals as a guide for human behavior whether in the good category or bad. The application of character education through Islamic da'wah aims to shape the character of students who are Islamic in society. This research uses literature study. The result of this study is the formation of personality in students which is reflected in their behavior and mindset in everyday life.

Abstract

The Palembang Sultanate in the 17th to 19th centuries was the background for the lives of the people of Palembang. This period becomes interesting when it is connected to the world of trade because the Palembang Sultanate had collaborated with the VOC in 1642. This had an influence on the trade economic system during the time the Sultan of Palembang was in power at that time. This research uses historical methods and literature studies. The historical method has several stages, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of foreign investment on the trade economy of the Palembang Sultanate period 1724-1825 because at that time the Palembang Sultanate carried out trade relations, especially spices, especially pepper and tin, both domestically and abroad.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of local history-based media implemented by teachers in schools. The research aims to determine the Implementation of Character Education using Local History Media of Palembang Malay Traditional Houses at SMA Aisyiyah 1 Palembang. The data collection method in this research uses observation, interviews and documentation methods which are then descriptive qualitative. This research uses sociology, education, anthropology and geography approaches. The results of this research are 1. Aisyiyah 1 Palembang High School students' understanding of local history is good. Students are able to explain the meaning of local history, know the local history in the city of Palembang. describing the existing local history, to the point of adopting the values ​​and wisdom contained in local history. Then it also describes the philosophical value of the local history of the Palembang Malay Traditional House. 2) Implementation of this character education by means of the teacher first preparing a learning implementation plan (RPP) and syllabus, as well as Media Banners and Miniatures of Palembang Malay Traditional Houses, then in the RPP and teacher syllabus in each material the teacher always embeds character education in the Philosophical Values ​​of Traditional Houses Malay through a learning process starting from initial learning activities, core learning activities, closing learning activities, and evaluation. 3) Inhibiting and Supporting Factors faced by teachers and students in the Implementation of Character Education through Learning Media Local History of Palembang Malay Traditional Houses at SMA Aisyiyah 1 Palembang, namely, the inhibiting factors are time, media, environment and learning models that are not implemented enough. Supporting factors are facilities and infrastructure as well as social media that support character education 4. Students' perceptions regarding the Implementation of Character Education through Learning Media Local History of the Palembang Malay Traditional House at SMA Aisyiyah 1 Palembang Implementation of Character Education for the Palembang Malay Traditional House at SMA Aisyiyah 1 Palembang has been carried out successfully. good, because it is proven that the character of the students shows good morals during the learning process, this is also supported because of the strict rules applied by the school regarding discipline and habituation.
