Abstract

Pengajaran kosakata bahasa Inggris pada anak usia dini penting memperhatikan karakteristik khusus mereka agar mereka dapat dengan mudah dan cepat memperoleh kosakata baru, terutama kosakata bahasa Inggris. Selain memiliki karakteristik khusus, mereka juga membutuhkan seorang guru sebagai fasilitator yang memiliki metode mengajar yang baik yang dapat memotivasi mereka dalam mempelajari kosakata bahasa Inggris yang baru. Metode pengajaran yang digunakan guru dalam mengajar kosa kata bahasa Inggris, khususnya guru TK. Aisyiah Bustanul Athfal 05 Medan, adalah Metode Film bahasa Inggris. Metode Film bahasa Inggris adalah metode yang menggunakan film anak-anak menggunakan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasanya. Metode ini diterapkan dengan menghubungkan pengalaman pribadi dan kemampuan kognitif anak. Tujuan dari program ini adalah untuk memberikan pengenalan keterampilan dan penguasaan guru TK dalam mengajar kosakata bahasa Inggris. Dan diharapkan siswa TK. Aisyiah Bustanul Athfal 05 Medan dapat mengenal dan menguasai kosakata bahasa Inggris yang diajarkan oleh guru dengan menggunakan English Movie Method ini.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of the Magnetic Board Media to improve students’ English vocabulary achievement. This is a Classroom Action Research which used the Kemmis & Mc. Taggart Model in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: plans, actions, observations, and reflections. The subjects in this study were students of Grade IV-A of The State Elementary School No. 104202 Bandar Setia Percut Sei Tuan. The object of this study was the application of Magnetic Board Media to improve the students’ vocabulary achievement. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the percentage of completeness from pre-action, Cycle-I and Cycle-II increased. The percentage of student’s completeness in pre-action was 18%, in the Cycle-I was 53%, and in the Cycle-II was 87%. There was a significant increase 69% from pre-action to cycle-II. Thus, this study was successful and can be said that the use of the magnetic board media can improve students' vocabulary achievement, long term memory, and motivation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of role plays methods in an effort to improve English speaking skill of the tenth grade students at SMA Harapan-I Medan. This research is a Classroom Action Research study conducted collaboratively. Subjects in this study were students of the tenth grade students at SMA Harapan-I Medan. While the object of this study is the application of role play methods, to improve students' speaking skill. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the percentage of the results of the completeness of the students' scores between cycle I and cycle II had increased. In the first cycle, the percentage of completeness was 40% while in the second cycle there was a significant increase to 63%. There is a 43% increase between the pre-cycle, actions of cycle I and cycle II. Thus this study was declared successful and it can be said that the use of role play methods can improve student learning outcomes in speaking

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan pendampingan pada guru-guru SD Negeri 104202 Bandar Setia dalam adaptasi teknologi pembelajaran daring di masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan tutorial penyampaian materi-materi terkait pemanfaatan aplikasi-aplikasi pembelajaran daring serta pembuatan bahan ajar menggunakan aplikasi video maker/editor Filmora. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap 2021/2022. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan adanya pendampingan ini, para guru memahami pentingnya adaptasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran daring dimasa pandemi Covid-19, mengetahui aplikasi – aplikasi yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran daring, dan mampu membuat video pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi Filmora/Filmorago.

Abstract

This research investigated the effect of Project-based learning on students’ speaking ability. This was a mix research, qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative was used to describe the implementation of the project based learning in Accounting Study Program students. The quantitative research used was a pre-experimental research with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design to find the effect of project based learning on the students’ speaking ability. There was a single sample, 35 students, of the population (1st to 4th semester Accounting Study Program Students of Universitas Potensi Utama). The qualitative data were collected by using interview, observation, and documentation. The quantitative data were collected by using tests, pre-test and post-test. Since this study was intended to find the effect of the Project-Based Learning toward students’ speaking ability, the quantitative data were analyzed statistically by paired sample t-test by using IBM SPSS 22 for Windows. The result of analysis showed that there was a significant effect of Project-Based Learning on the students’ speaking ability. It was an effective method in teaching speaking because it improves students’ speaking ability, build students’ team work skills, increase students’ problem solving skill, and stimulates students to be active, communicative, creative, and innovative. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to be applied in the teaching speaking.

Abstract

One form of the Tridarma of higher education is community service. Which aims to establish relationships with the community, train students to communicate and apply the scientific fields acquired while being student, and add insight and experience to student in increasing awareness of the community. The purpose of this study was to determine the community’s response to KKN student communication in Londut Village, Kualuh Hulu District. Student communication with the community greatly impact the KKN activities carried out by student. There are many student KKN activities that can be utilized by community. Between student and the community must communicate wall, so there is ni miss communication. The methods used in this study werw interviews and direct observation of several Londut community leaders, Kualuh Hulu District. They also directly communicate with KKN student. The importance of this research is that before student carry out KKN activities in their respective place they must be able to communicate wall. And prepare matters related to the theme of KKN activities with their respective scientific fields.
