Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to search a number of data, documents and literature to explore cyber crimes which are not only economically motivated, but also have political tendencies. Various cases of data hacking carried out by regional and global hackers and crackers have positioned cyber space as an arena for aggressive political contestation that has shaken the foundations of political, military, defense, security and intelligence life. The concept of cybersecurity is currently projected to protect national interests/sovereignty (cyberdefence) through developing cyberwar and cyberdiplomacy strategies to overcome the increasingly intense threat of cybercrime. This qualitative study using a descriptive analysis method based on a literature study approach tries to analyze the political tendencies underlying the motives for cybercrime, both at the global and national levels. The results of the study show: cyber space in many countries (including Indonesia) has been transformed into an arena of aggression and a realm of political contestation which—if not anticipated through breakthroughs and extra efforts—has the potential to thwart Indonesia in safeguarding its national interests, maintaining the sovereignty of its citizens from cyber threats, and it is difficult to expose Indonesia's national diplomatic capabilities in responding to cyber crimes that continue to move wildly. Keywords: Cybercrime, political tendencies, cyber diplomacy, cyber security, cyber defense, cyber war ABSTRAK Studi ini bertujuan melakukan penelusuran sejumlah data, dokumen, dan literatur untuk mengeksplor kejahatan dunia maya yang tak hanya bermotif ekonomis, namun juga bertendensi politis. Kata-kata Kunci: Kejahatan dunia maya, tendensi politik, diplomasi siber, keamanan siber, pertahanan siber, perang siber

Abstract

The increasingly materialistic dynamics of urban modernization have triggered the anxiety of most urban Muslims in deciding on the education of their children. In this materialistic era, the orientation of education has also shifted towards pragmatism that gives a small portion of religious content. This reality has made urban Muslims choose Islamic boarding schools, madrasas and modern Islamic schools that give a large portion of religion as an alternative education for their children. This qualitative study (based on Weber's social action theory and Coleman's rational choice theory) with a literature review analysis method tries to unravel the factors behind urban Muslims choosing schools with a strong touch of Islamic teachings as an alternative for education/inheritance of Islamic values for their children. The study concludes that internal factors (inheritance of religious values), external factors (influence of social environment and increasingly religious families), and performance factors (personal motives of Muslim parents) into the three dominant choices/motives.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the behavior of Gen Z from an alternative point of view, that Gen Z also has positive life attitudes and behaviors, which cannot be labeled as impulsive and panic. Through qualitative analysis with a phenomenological approach and virtual ethnography, this study concludes that as an entity that grew up under the influence of virtual ecology and digital ecosystem, theoretically Gen Z has unique attitudes and behaviors, namely social awareness, political views, and alignment with sensitive public issues, not just impulsive, panic, hedon, and consumptive. Understanding Gen Z's perspective, challenges, and optional ideas-sometimes critical-idealistic, but sometimes taking quick and practical solutions-will help us understand Gen Z's psychographic dynamics more fully and proportionally. Delving into the unique, varied and dynamic character of Gen Z is an important asset for all parties who want to connect and benefit from this entity, because Gen Z, in the future, will be a potential entity that can determine the black and white face of the nation's economy, politics, social and culture.
