Abstract

Physical manpower is the most power that used for fulfill rice and upland farming from land preparation to post harvest. Research was conducted at Lamunti village, Kapuas regency, Central Kalimantan in May to August 2009. The object of research was to evaluate the energy consumption in production processes with energy output that produced by soybean production. Data were collected from 30 soybean farmers by questinnaire method, then compared with land preparation to post harvest activity Energy and cost analysis was calculated based on energy consumption of each activity, physical energy (manpower), production facilities and energy output. The result showed that soybean farming on peaty acid sulfate land used work hour as 652.20 J/ha or equivalent with of physical energy as much as 182914.26 kkal/ha of total energy needs. Total energy that needed for manage soybeans farming for one ha was 1446076.00 kkal. Cost of manpower was 53.38% of total production costs. Whereas energy output and the output cost were 5292000 kkal/ha and Rp. 10290000.00 or increased as 67.89%. Production efficiency was determined by the level of production facilities. In the production process, higher the chemical energy input, lower the value of production efficiency. Keywords: energy, tidal land, soybean

Abstract

Fertilization with organic and inorganic fertilizers increase the availability of nutrients in the soil and improve soil physical and chemical properties, The nutrient must fulfill crop requirement regarding to its effect to seed quality. The object of experiment was to study the effect of a combination organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer to resilience of soybean {Glycine max (L.) Merr.} seed var. Anjasmoro. Storage of seeds, were conducted in the Post Harvest Laboratory of Balai Penelitian Pertanian Lahan Rawa-Balittra (Indonesian Swampland Agriculture Institute), Banjarbaru from October 2009 until April 2010. The experiment was designed in completely randomized with 4 replications. Seed water content, seed germination, vigor index, electrical conductivity and seedling development were observed. The results showed that during storage, water content of seed increased 3-4% and limit the water content of seeds was still able to be maintained at <13%. Organic matter and NPK fertilizer declined vigor and germination of seed. Vigor is still above 70% and germination as high as >77%; As lower as seed germination generate as higher as electrical conductivity and lower the seedling dry weight.

Abstract

In Indonesia rice transplanting is the most widely used system by farmer in rice cultivation wich require 25-30% of total manpower. Optimizing mechanical  transplanting system is an alternative to overcome manpower shortage. The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of jarwo transplanter in orther to improve its  efficiency. The experiment was conducted at Sidomulyo village, Kapuas regency, Central Kalimantan in dry season 2015 (April-September). Seedling to be used in this experiment was prepared using dapog method. Uniformity of planting, planting depth, the number of seedling embedded, and field capacity of the machine were oberved to determine the performance of jarwo transplanter. Results indicated that forward speed of 2.02 km/hour and planting width of 80 cm (4 rows), the effective field capacity was 6.28 hours/ha.Uniformity of planting achieved 98,08%  with an average number of seedlings was 3 to 4 seedling/hole and planting depth of 4.2 cm. There was 2.12 of holes without seedlings and 0.15% of floating seedlings. Application of Indo Jarwo Transplanter in the tidal swampland can overcome manpower shortages.
