Abstract

This study discusses the representation of the rumah gadang presented by Hamzah in his paintings, viewed from an aesthetic point of view. This research will explain how the form of representation presented by Hamzah. In this study, qualitative methods used include observation, interviews, and literature study. In this study, we will review Hamzah's paintings based on the period from 2010-2020, so eight Hamzah paintings will be studied. Hamzah's paintings illustrate how the social life of the Minangkabau community has changed due to the changing times. Physical changes from the results of Minangkabau culture are changes that occur in the form of the rumah gadang. The visual of the rumah gadang is expressed in the forms of the rumah gadang that has been damaged, weathered, and even collapsed. Hamzah does not emphasize the forms of rumah gadang in one type only but symbolizes the symbolic rumah gadang. The representation of rumah gadang in Hamzah's painting can be analyzed that there are 3 visual types of rumah gadang in this study, namely the type of rumah gadang Gajah Maharam, Lipek Pandan and Balah Bubuang.

Abstract

This study discusses Afianto Arifin's tendency to persist with a strong naturalism style during the incessant contemporary art. This study also discusses the journey of art, the factors behind his work attitude, and the aesthetic concepts contained in his paintings. To answer these problems, qualitative research methods are used which include observation, interviews, and literature study. The research was conducted in the City of Bukittinggi and Padang Pariaman district, West Sumatra province. Based on the research results, the beginning of Afianto Arifin's artistic career began in Jakarta. Apart from painting, Arifin also got a project to make sculptures and reliefs. After that, Arifin was diligent in making paintings. Arifin tends to raise objects of natural scenery and women's beauty. The idea of creating Arifin's paintings was influenced by artistic factors and cultural factors in his native area, namely Bukittinggi. The aesthetic concepts contained in Arifin's paintings are discussed from the point of view of art styles, art structures, as well as the interaction of media and meaning. Arifin is a person who tends to not want to be exposed and does not like to see exhibitions, this makes Arifin stick to his ideals and influences his artistic style until now.

Abstract

Problematics are obstacles or problems that must be solved; in other words, the problem is the gap between reality and something expected to work well to achieve maximum results. In everyday life, a person is never separated from various problems, one of which is the problems experienced while attending lectures. Problems arise from one's own negligence, resulting in self-defeating consequences. This is the basis for the creation of paintings. The form of the work presented is a two-dimensional work with an abstract style approach, emphasizing expressive and spontaneous lines using acrylic paint on canvas. The creation methods are preparation, observation, design, embodiment, and presentation. The creation of this painting has succeeded in producing five works entitled "Turbulence of problematic," "Red problematic," "Problematic attack," "Blue problematic," and "Wave control."

Abstract

Penelitian ini menjelaskan peran penting media pembelajaran pencak silat dengan fokus pada surau dan rumah gadang sebagai pusat pendidikan pencak silat tradisional. Permasalahan yang diangkat, pencak silat sebagai warisan budaya menjadi media pembelajaran agar tetap relevan dalam era globalisasi. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi upaya resilliensi dan reinventing pencak silat dengan merujuk pada sejarah silek Minangkabau sebagai bagian dari pendidikan tradisional yang dilakukan di surau dan rumah gadang. Hasil penelitian ini untuk memahami tradisi pencak silat dapat diadaptasi dan dikembangkan menjadi media pembelajaran, dengan menyesuaikan kebutuhan zaman modern, tanpa mengorbankan nilai-nilai luhurnya. Upaya strategi digitalisasi silek Minangkabau memperkuat posisi pencak silat sebagai media pembelajaran sekaligus sebagai identitas nasional. Pencak silat telah ditetapkan oleh UNESCO menjadi milik identitas nasional Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji peran pencak silat dalam membentuk karakter dan nilai-nilai luhur masyarakat Minangkabau, khususnya melalui pendidikan yang berlangsung di surau dan rumah gadang serta digitalisasi arsip silek Minangkabau berbasis website. Metode sejarah digunakan untuk menggali sejarah pusat pendidikan pencak silat di Minangkabau, khususnya di surau dan rumah gadang. Melalui kajian literatur, artefak, wawancara dengan para ahli, dan analisis data historis, untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana pencak silat tidak hanya sekadar seni bela diri, tetapi juga merupakan nilai-nilai luhur dan identitas budaya Minangkabau.
