Abstract

Al6061-sea sand composite was manufactured using the stir casting method and its mechanical properties were improved by heat treatment. The T6 heat treatment used to improve the mechanical properties of the composite consists of the following processes: solution heat treatment, quenching, and artificial aging. The solution heat treatment process was carried out at a temperature of 540oC for 6 hours. The quenching process was carried out with different quenching agents (water, oil, and 10% brine). The difference in quenching agents resulted in different cooling rates. After quenching, an artificial aging process was carried out at a temperature of 200 oC for 4 hours. The difference in cooling rate affects the hardness and tensile strength of the specimen. The high cooling rate results in an increase in the tensile strength of the specimen. This is due to the increase in cooling speed, the Mg2Si precipitates formed are smaller in size and located in the grains. The highest tensile strength of specimen (206.67 MPa) is obtained by using brine quenching agent.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi yang membawa kemudahan bagi manusia untuk bekerja, berbelanja, dan berwisata. Berdasarkan data dari kementrian Pariwisata telah terjadi pergeseran pilihan wisata yang diinginkan masnyarakat beberapa tahun belakangan ini seiring kesadaran untuk hidup sehat dengan berolahraga. Wisata olahraga menjadi tren tujuan wisata baru yang terintegrasi dengan wisata alam. Wisata ini berpotensi untuk dikembangkan area wisata Gunung Pegat desa Karangasem Sukoharjo. Permasalahan pada pengembangan wisata Alam-olahraga pada Gunung Pegat terkendala oleh infrastruktur di kawasan tersebut.  Inovasi pembangunan infrastruktur taman rekreasi yang dilengkapi alat olahraga outdoor (luar ruang). Program PKM ini akan difokuskan pada rancang bangun alat olahraga Outdoor yang sesuai dengan kondisi alam dan budaya olahraga masyarakat. Pelaksanaan perancangan hingga manufaktur dilaksanaan di lingkungan kampus. Prototipe yang telah dibangun ditempatkan di area wisata sebagai percontohan bagi warga dalam mengembangkan produk serupa. Pembangunan alat olahraga outdoor diharapkan dapat meningkatkan roda perekonomian warga Desa Karangasem, Bulu-Sukoharjo.

Abstract

There are numerous welding workshops in Solo, but they mostly offer similar products such as household items like fences, canopies, and window grilles. These products are customized, leading to inconsistent production levels—sometimes with high demand, other times quiet periods. To sustain these workshops, it's crucial to innovate both products and marketing strategies. Products like office, campus, and school furniture are consistently in demand. To compete effectively, workshop products need to improve in quality through advanced welding technology, particularly Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). Therefore, workshops require training in using sophisticated equipment like GMAW machines. In the Community Partnership Program (PKM), the PKM UNS team collaborates with two partners: Sumber Rejeki Welding Workshop in Dusun Sawahan and the Takmir of Fatimah Ar-Royyan Mosque. The program unfolds in two phases. Phase I involves training workshop owners and workers in GMAW machine operations, with the PKM UNS team providing expertise. Phase II includes a joint project to create desk and chair furniture as demonstration products from the training, which will be donated to the TPA of Fatimah Ar-Royyan Mosque in Jongkang. This PKM initiative aims to equip owners and workers from Sumber Rejeki Welding Workshop and nearby workshops with skills in designing structures and manufacturing office furniture using GMAW, as well as effectively marketing these products.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the efficiency of production space at Ihrish Creative Studio through an ergonomics and lean manufacturing approach. The study was conducted using direct observation, interviews, workflow analysis, and redesign of the production layout. The implementation results showed a reduction in production material movement time from an average of 14 minutes to 5–6 minutes. This increase in efficiency resulted in an increase in daily production output of up to ±30%, as well as a reduction in operational costs through time and energy savings. The application of ergonomic principles also increased comfort and safety at work, as demonstrated by positive feedback from workers. In addition, the new layout also strengthened the studio's social function as a training and community empowerment center. This study confirms that the integration of ergonomics and lean manufacturing is effective in addressing space limitations in micro-enterprises, while strengthening operational and social sustainability.
