Abstract

Study on white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) production in biocrete pond in different density was performed at PT. Bimasena Segara, Citarate, Sukabumi, West Java. Six ponds were used and devided into 2 groups based the density levels, i.e., 72-73 shrimp/m2 and 93-105 shrimp/m2.  Experiment was done for 100 days, including pond preparation.  The results of study showed that mean weight of shrimp reared in biocrete pond was ranged from 9.64 to 12.34 gram, survival rate 26.97-99.58%, productivity 3,078-8,340.9 kg/ha, feed quantity 2,084.5-2,870.4 kg and FCR 1.19-2.60.  Ponds with lower rearing density had lower (P

Abstract

Black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon Fab.) culture is now frequently failed as the fault in pond construction and irrigation system, disease break, and younger fry is stocking into pond.  Nursery is a rearing of PL12 to be PL25 at a controlled environmental condition to quickly adapt them on pond condition.   Nursery experiment was conducted in cage culture (1x1x1 m) placed in an intensive pond at density of 250, 500, 750 and 1000 PL/m2, for 14 days rearing.  The results of study indicated that no different in survival and growth of PL was obtained.  Daily growth rate was ranged from 1.10% to 1.53%, while the survival rate was ranged from 86.72-95.60%.  Higher production of shrimp fry (867 PL25) was obtained by rearing PL12 at density of 1000 PL/m2. Keywords: black tiger shrimp, Penaeus monodon, fry, rearing density   ABSTRAK Usaha udang windu (Penaeus monodon Fab.) saat ini banyak mengalami kegagalan akibat konstruksi tambak dan sistem pengairan yang salah, serangan penyakit, dan umur benih yang terlalu muda untuk pemeliharaan ditambak.  Penokolan merupakan pemeliharaan benur pada stadia PL12 menjadi PL25 dalam lingkungan yang relatif terkontrol agar dapat beradaptasi dengan cepat pada lingkungan tambak. Percobaan penokolan dilakukan menggunakan hapa (1x1x1 m) yang dipasang di dalam kolam intensif dengan padat tebar 250, 500, 750 dan 1000 ekor PL/m2, selama 14 hari pemeliharaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan nyata dalam hal kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhannya. Laju pertumbuhan harian udang berkisar antara 1,10% sampai 1,53%, sementara tingkat kelangsungan hidup berkisar 86,72-95,60%.  Produksi benih udang (867 PL25) terbanyak diperoleh dengan memelihara PL12 pada kepadatan 1000 ekor PL/m2. Abstract

Larva rearing is one of the efforts to increase white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei seed quality.  This study was conducted to determine effect of  rearing density on the quality and productivity of white shrimp larvae in cage system. The tested rearing densities were 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 ind/m2 and cultured for 28 days.  The result showed that rearing density did not affect survival rate and coefficient of variation of shrimp length. The treatmentonly affected the shrimp larvae growthwhere 500 ind/m2 rearing density gave the best growth. Keywords: white shrimp, larva, rearing density, net cage   ABSTRAK Penokolan merupakan salah satu usaha untuk meningkatkan kualitas benih udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh padat tebar terhadap kualitas dan produktivitas pemeliharaan larva udang vaname di hapa. Padat tebar yang diuji meliputi 500  ,1000, 1500   dan 2000 ekor/m2 selama 28 hari pemeliharaan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa padat tebar tidak mempengaruhi kelangsungan hidup dan koefisien keragaman panjang udang, dan hanya mempengaruhi pertumbuhan. Abstract

Daphnia with a density of 10,000 ind./l medium were enriched with either 0.1, 0.5 or 1 g l-ascorbic acid ethyl cellulose (VC) per l culture medium. In this triplicate experiment, Daphnia were enriched with VC in a 12 litre aquaria for 0, 3, 6 or 9 h. Results showed that the maximum VC content in Daphnia enriched with 0.1, 0.5 and 1 g VC/l medium was 347, 471 and 482 mg VC/g Daphnia (dry basis), respectively. This VC content was obtained after 5 h, 5 h 12 min and 5 h 18 min of enrichment period.  During 9 h enrichment period, the survival rate of Daphnia enriched with 0.1, 0.5 and 1 g VC/l medium was decrease linearly from 100% to 55.6%, 50.1% and 47.9%, respectively. Keywords: Daphnia, vitamin C, enrichment   ABSTRAK Dalam penelitian ini,  Daphnia dengan padat tebar 10.000 ekor/l diperkaya dengan vitamin C (VC) pada tiga dosis yang berbeda, yaitu dosis 0,1, 0,5 dan 1 g VC/l media untuk masing-masing penelitian 1, 2 dan 3.  Daphnia diperkaya dalam wadah volume 12 liter selama 0, 3, 6 dan 9 jam.  Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali ulangan. Hasil analisa respon menunjukkan bahwa waktu pengkayaan yang optimum untuk masing-masing dosis pengkayaan 0,1, 0,5 dan 1 g VC/l media secara berturut-turut adalah 5 jam, 5 jam 12 menit dan 5 jam 18 menit dengan kadar VC masing-masing sebesar 347, 471 dan 482 mg VC/g Daphnia.  Tingkat kelangsungan hidup Daphnia sp. menunjukkan terjadinya penurunan secara linier dengan semakin bertambahnya waktu pengkayaan.  Tingkat kelangsungan hidup Daphnia sp. setelah 9 jam masa pengkayaan ialah sebesar 55,63%, 50,12% dan 47,92% untuk dosis 0,1, 0,5 dan 1 g VC/l media.  Kata kunci: Daphnia, vitamin C, pengkayaan
