Abstract

This study was aimed to determine optimum dose of L-Ascorbyl-2-Phosphate Magnesium in the diet of patin, Pangasius hypophthalmus fingerlings.  Five isoprotein and isocaloric diets containing different dose of L-Ascorbyl-2-Phosphate Magnesium, i.e. 0, 25, 75 and 100 mg/kg diet were used in this experiment.  Fish with an average size of 5.00±0.11 g were maintained at a density of 15 fish per aquarium.  Fish were fed three times a day at satiation, for 40 days.  The results of study shows that vitamin C content in fish body increased as the vitamin C level of the diet increased.  Similar pattern to vitamin C content was also found in protein retention, lipid retention, daily growth rate, and feed efficiency (p< 0.05).  Thus, it can  be concluded that the most optimum dose of L-Ascorbyl-2-Phosphate Magnesium as vitamin C source for patin fingerlings in this experiment was 100 mg Vit C/kg diet. Higher dose of L-Ascorbyl-2-Phosphate Magnesium than 100 mg/kg diet however need to be further verified. Keywords: vitamin C, patin, Pangasius hypophthalmus.   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar optimum L-Ascorbyl-2-Phosphate Magnesium dalam pakan ikan patin, Pangasius hypophthalmus ukuran sejari. Lima macam pakan isoprotein dan isokalori mempunyai kandungan L-Ascorbyl-2-Phosphate Magnesium berbeda, berturut-turut 0, 25, 50, 75 dan 100 mg/kg pakan telah digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Benih berukuran rata-rata 5,00±0,11 g dipelihara dalam akuarium dengan kepadatan 15 ekor per akuarium. Ikan diberi pakan tiga kali sehari, secara at satiation, selama 40 hari. Abstract

Nutrient content of natural food is one of the main factors for determining the successful of marine fish fry production.  EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) are two essential fatty acids for marine fish larvae.   Low levels of EPA and DHA content in natural food is major problem in marine fish larval production.  Rotifers fed by Nannochloropsis contained EPA about 0.94%-1.46% and DHA was limited, while in Artemia was 0.27%-0.39% EPA and DHA was undetected (Suprayudi et al., 2002a).  Feeding on supplemented Artemia with EPA 28G and DHA 70G in ratio of 1:1 could not significantly improved its survival rate and larval development time, while growth by length and carapas width at first crab were higher  than  that of fed with unenriched Artemia. Keywords: EPA, DHA, Artemia, swimming crab, Portunus pelagicus   ABSTRAK Kandungan nutrisi dalam pakan alami merupakan salah satu faktor utama yang menentukan keberhasilan produksi benih spesies akuatik laut.  EPA (asam ekosapentanat) dan DHA (asam dokosaheksanat) merupakan 2 asam lemak esensil bagi larva ikan laut.  Kandungan EPA dan DHA yang rendah pada pakan alami merupakan masalah utama dalam produksi larva ikan laut.  Rotifer yang diberi pakan Nannochloropsis mengandung EPA 0,94%-1,46% dan DHA dengan jumlah yang sangat kecil, sementara Artemia EPA mengandung 0,27%-0,39% dan DHA tidak terdeteksi (Suprayudi et al., 2002a). Pemberian Artemia yang diperkaya dengan EPA 28G dan DHA 70G dengan perbandingan 1:1 tidak memberikan hasil yang signifikan pada tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan waktu perkembangan larva rajungan, sementara pertumbuhan panjang dan lebar karapas lebih baik pada crab 1 dibandingkan dengan yang diberi Artemia tidak diperkaya. Abstract

The extending of protein and energy of the Swimming crab should be on certain limit that could be give maximum growth. The objective of this research are to determine of the protein level and optimum energy ratio of protein (C/P) at rajungan (Portunus pelagicus). The Crab-5 (C-5) stage used in the experiment, maintained in the topless (volume of 2 liters), with density of 1 crab/glass. There were seven of the experimental diets namely A (protein of 30%; C/P of 8 kkal), B (30%; 9.5), C (35%; 8), D (35%; 9.5), E (40%; 8), F (40%; 9.5) and G (45%; 8) with extending of food are 5 time of daily. Complete randomize design with 2 of factor and 3 of replication use in the experiment. The results of this experiment showed that interaction of the protein level and the energy ratio of protein is influence to the growth rate of daily and retention of lipid. Abstract

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of catfish body fat in the diet on the growth of tilapia Oreochromis niloticus. Twenty fishes with an initial body weight of 5.0&plusmn;0.03 g were cultured in 100-ℓ rectangular aquaria for 58 days. The fishes were fed on the diet contained lipid from catfish at a dosage of either 0, 1.5, 3, 4.5 or 6%. The results showed that lipid dosage in the diet insignificantly affected feed efficiency, (73.25-81.96%), protein retention (45.57-51.56%), daily growth rate (4.05-4.29%), and survival rate of fish (98.33-100%). However, n-3 fatty acids of fish muscle elevated as the dosage of body fat of catfish in the diet increased. Therefore, it can be concluded that lipid from catfish can be used as a fat source in the diet of tilapia. Keywords: lipid, tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tingkat penggunaan lemak patin dalam pakan buatan terhadap pertumbuhan ikan nila Oreochromis niloticus. Dua puluh ekor ikan nila dengan bobot rata-rata 5&plusmn;0,03 g ditebar ke dalam akuarium 60x50x40 cm. Ikan dipelihara selama 58 hari. Selama masa budidaya, ikan diberi lima jenis pakan berkadar protein 28% yang mengandung lemak patin pada kadar 0, 1,5, 3, 4,5 atau 6%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan lemak patin pada pakan tidak memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda terhadap nilai efisiensi pakan (73,25-81,96%), retensi protein (45,57-51,56%), laju pertumbuhan harian (4,05-4,29%) dan kelangsungan hidup ikan (98,33-100%). Namun, semakin meningkatnya kandungan lemak patin di dalam pakan berakibat pada semakin tingginya kandungan asam lemak n-3 di dalam daging ikan. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa lemak patin dapat digunakan sebagai sumber lemak tambahan dalam pakan buatan ikan nila. Kata kunci: lemak, ikan nila, Oreochromis niloticus

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of different dietary chromium level on the growth performance of catfish (Clarias sp.) juvenile. Five experimental diets contain different chromium level, namely diet A (as a control diet) 0.01; B 1.30; C 2.60; D 3.90 and E 5.20 mg/kg diet were used in this experiment. Fish with body weight of  5.57 ± 0.01 g/ind, fed on the experimental diet, twice a day, at satiation. Feeding trial was conducted for 60 days. Based on the evaluation of protein level of the whole body, protein and lipid retention, daily growth rate and feed efficiency, it was concluded that the optimum dietary chromium level for catfish  juvenile was 2.60 mg/kg diet. Keywords: chromium, growth, Clarias sp.   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kromium dengan level berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan ikan lele (Clarias sp.) juvenil.  Lima jenis pakan yang mengandung kromium berbeda, yaitu pakan A  (kontrol) 0,01; B 1,30; C 2,60; D 3,90 dan pakan E 5,20 mg/kg digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Ikan dengan bobot 5,57 ± 0,01 g/ind., diberi pakan 2 kali sehari secara satiasi.  Pemeliharaan ikan dilakukan selama 60 hari.  Berdasarkan analisa retensi protein, kandungan protein dan retensi lemak dalam tubuh ikan lele, disimpulkan bahwa kadar kromium yang optimum untuk juvenil ikan lele adalah 2,60 mg/kg pakan. Abstract

Daphnia with a density of 10,000 ind./l medium were enriched with either 0.1, 0.5 or 1 g l-ascorbic acid ethyl cellulose (VC) per l culture medium. In this triplicate experiment, Daphnia were enriched with VC in a 12 litre aquaria for 0, 3, 6 or 9 h. Results showed that the maximum VC content in Daphnia enriched with 0.1, 0.5 and 1 g VC/l medium was 347, 471 and 482 mg VC/g Daphnia (dry basis), respectively. This VC content was obtained after 5 h, 5 h 12 min and 5 h 18 min of enrichment period.  During 9 h enrichment period, the survival rate of Daphnia enriched with 0.1, 0.5 and 1 g VC/l medium was decrease linearly from 100% to 55.6%, 50.1% and 47.9%, respectively. Keywords: Daphnia, vitamin C, enrichment   ABSTRAK Dalam penelitian ini,  Daphnia dengan padat tebar 10.000 ekor/l diperkaya dengan vitamin C (VC) pada tiga dosis yang berbeda, yaitu dosis 0,1, 0,5 dan 1 g VC/l media untuk masing-masing penelitian 1, 2 dan 3.  Daphnia diperkaya dalam wadah volume 12 liter selama 0, 3, 6 dan 9 jam.  Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali ulangan. Hasil analisa respon menunjukkan bahwa waktu pengkayaan yang optimum untuk masing-masing dosis pengkayaan 0,1, 0,5 dan 1 g VC/l media secara berturut-turut adalah 5 jam, 5 jam 12 menit dan 5 jam 18 menit dengan kadar VC masing-masing sebesar 347, 471 dan 482 mg VC/g Daphnia.  Tingkat kelangsungan hidup Daphnia sp. menunjukkan terjadinya penurunan secara linier dengan semakin bertambahnya waktu pengkayaan.  Tingkat kelangsungan hidup Daphnia sp. setelah 9 jam masa pengkayaan ialah sebesar 55,63%, 50,12% dan 47,92% untuk dosis 0,1, 0,5 dan 1 g VC/l media.  Kata kunci: Daphnia, vitamin C, pengkayaan
