Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of NaOH concentration and the ratio of monocloro acetic acid with chitosan used in the synthesis process to the degree of substitution and solubility in water. Preparation of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCts) was carried out by various concentration of NaOH and ratio of monochloro acetic acid with chitosan. The concentration of NaOH used in the alkalination process were 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50% (w/v). The ratio of chitosan: monochloro acetic acid used for etherification were 1:0,5; 1:1; 1:1,5; and 1:2 (w/w). Etherification was carried out at a temperature of 60°C for 2 hours. The results showed that the NaOH concentration of 10-30% (w/v) increased the substitution degree and solubility of produced CMCts. But at concentrations above 30% (w/v) the substitution degree and solubility were decreased. The ratio of chitosan : monochloro acetic acid also affect to substitution degree and the solubility of synthesized CMCts. The higher amount of monochloro acetic acid added to chitosan, the higher is substitution degree and the solubility of carboxymethyl chitosan synthesized in water. The best result was obtained when the ratio of chitosan : monochloro acetic acid were 1:2 (w/w). Within this ratio a 92.05% of yield was resulted with a solubility of 28.05 g/L and a substitution degree of 0.72.

Abstract

The development of introductory teaching materials for the collaborative science of culture, Islam, and technology is research that produces innovative teaching materials as references for introductory laboratory courses and similar subjects. This study aims to develop teaching materials and validate products by material experts and media experts. The development of teaching materials is carried out in stages: (1) enrichment of teaching materials by laboratory introductory materials in the curriculum of biology, physics, and chemistry study programs, (2) collecting local potential data that can be included and explained in teaching materials according to laboratory introductory materials, (3) explore information related to Islam-science according to the phenomena presented, (4) innovate material content by presenting 3D augmented reality technology which has explained the use and installation of supporting applications, (5) validate teaching materials on material and media aspects, (6) implement teaching materials in the introductory laboratory learning process and or laboratory management in physics, chemistry and biology study programs. This development research stage is in line with the ADDIE model development research. The validation results obtained a percentage of 79% for material experts and 88% for media experts who both belong to the "strongly agree" category to be suitable for use by revising.Abstrak Pengembangan bahan ajar pengantar laboratorium sains kolaborasi budaya, islam dan teknologi merupakan penelitian yang menghasilkan produk bahan ajar inovatif sebagai referensi mata kuliah pengantar laboratorium dan mata kuliah sejenisnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar dan menvalidaasi produk oleh ahli materi dan ahli media. Pengembangan bahan ajar dilakukan dengan tahapan: (1) pengayaan materi ajar sesuai dengan materi pengantar laboratorium pada kurikulum program studi tadris biologi, fisika dan kimia, (2) mengumpulkan data potensi local yang dapat dicantumkan dan dijelaskan pada bahan ajar menyesuaikan materi pengantar laboratorium, (3) menggali infomasi berkenaan dengan islam-sains sesuai pada fenomena yang disajikan, (4) melakukan inovasi konten materi dengan menyajikan tenologi augmentedr reality 3D yang telah dijelaskan penggunaan dan pemasangan aplikasi pendukung, (5) melakukan validasi bahan ajar pada aspek materi dan media, (6) mengimplementasikan bahan ajar dalam proses pembelajaran pengantar laboratorium dan atau manajemen laboratorium pada program studi tadris fisika, kimia dan biologi. Tahapan penelitian pengembangan ini selaras dengan penelitian pengembangan model ADDIE. Hasil validasi diperoleh persentase 79% pada ahli materi dan 88% pada ahli media yang sama-sama termasuk pada ketegori “sangat setuju” untuk layak digunakan dengan melakukan revisi.

Abstract

This research is to see the effect of using local wisdom-based acid-base worksheets on student learning outcomes using a quantitative approach with the type of research research experiment. The design used was pretest-posttest control group design. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The samples were students of class XI MIA 3 (control class) and students of class XI MIA 4 (experimental class) at SMAN 9 Banjarmasin. The calculation steps of the research use SPSS 22 for windows. The data processing technique used independent sample t-test to test the difference between pretest and posttest. The results of the analysis of the data obtained, independent sample t-test test showed that there was no difference between the SPSS pretest output of the control and experimental classes, the SPSS posttest output between the control and experimental classes was different. Test the hypothesis using the N-Gain score test. The results of the SPSS output test N-Gain score, the mean value of the control class is in the medium category, while the mean output of the experimental class shows the Gain score in the high category. The use of local wisdom based acid base worksheets in the experimental class has a high effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis eksperimen. Desain yang digunakan ialah desain kuasi eksperimen non-equivalent control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Tes terdiri dari pre-test dan post-test berupa 15 butir soal pilihan ganda. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sampel yang digunakan adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu media infografis tentang kesetimbangan kimia. Analisis hipotesis menggunakan uji t (one sample t-test) dan uji paired sample t-test menggunakan SPSS 25 for windows. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep kesetimbangan kimia peserta didik yang diajarkan menggunakan media infografis dan yang tidak menggunakan media infografis berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji paired sample t-test mengalami peningkatan. Namun, dilihat dari rata-rata nilai post-test peserta didik kelas eksperimen tidak lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol. Sehingga, pengaruh terhadap media infografis dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap pemahaman konsep kesetimbangan kimia peserta didik berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji t (one sample t-test) berupa taraf signifikansi 0,00 < 0,05, maka Ha diterima dan berdasarkan perhitungan paired sample t-test dihasilkan sebesar 11,92%.

Abstract

Misconceptions can be identified using a four-level test format diagnostic test. However, this test is less effective because it still uses paper/print and requires a long time at the correction stage. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a web-based four-level test. Objective: The purpose of this research is to find out the practicality of a web-based four-level test. Methods: This type of research is descriptive quantitative with data sources from class X MIPA MAN 1 Hulu Sungai Tengah. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire to test practicality. Results: The results of the practicality test obtained an average percentage of 82.5% in the very practical category in aspects of web appearance, image clarity, material suitability, language, paperless, and helping to determine students' abilities and weaknesses in chemical bonding material. Based on this assessment, a web-based four-level practice test product was used to identify misconceptions in class X MIPA MAN 1 Hulu Sungai Tengah. While the results of students' misconceptions on Lewis structure indicators in chemical compounds were 49.21%, ionic bond formation indicators were 39.68%, covalent bond formation indicators were 47.09%, polar covalent compound indicators were 38.89%, metallic bond indicators were 39.42%, and indicators of the physical properties of compounds based on their bonds of 46.03%. All percentages on these indicators include medium criteria. Novelty: Previous researchers have never done this research, which measured students' misconceptions with web-based four-tier tests in chemistry concepts.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis kebutuhan bahan ajar Kimia Organik yang berorientasi higher order thinking skills. Penelitian yang dilakukan termasuk penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan populasi penelitian sebanyak 19 orang mahasiswa Tadris Kimia UIN Antasari angkatan 2018. Teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel jenuh. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: mahasiswa sulit memahami materi Kimia Organik dengan tepat; mahasiswa sulit menemukan sumber belajar yang berhubungan dengan Kimia Organik; bahan ajar yang digunakan saat pembelajaran Kimia Organik kurang menarik dan tidak kontekstual; bahan ajar Kimia Organik yang digunakan tidak mendukung mahasiswa untuk menemukan konsep sendiri; serta bahan ajar yang digunakan tidak membantu meningkatkan higher order thinking skills. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa semua responden menyatakan perlunya dikembangkan bahan ajar Kimia Organik yang membuat lebih aktif dan membantu meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. AbstractThe research aimed to analyze the needs for Organic Chemistry teaching materials that are oriented to higher order thinking skills. The research method used descriptive quantitative research with a research population was 19 of Tadris Chemistry students at UIN Antasari class of 2018. The sampling technique used a saturated sample. Data collection tools used questionnaires and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that: it was difficult for students to understand Organic Chemistry material correctly; it was difficult for students to find learning resources related to Organic Chemistry; teaching materials used when learning Organic Chemistry were less interesting and not contextual; Organic Chemistry teaching materials used do not support students to find their own concepts; and the teaching materials used do not help improve higher order thinking skills. Based on the research results, it was concluded that all respondents stated the need to develop Organic Chemistry teaching materials that make them more active and help improve higher order thinking skills.

Abstract

Multiple representations can facilitate the understanding of abstract chemical concepts. Multiple representations can be incorporated into teaching materials, such as Student Worksheets, to create Multiple Representation-based Student Worksheets. This study aims to analyze the validity of Student Worksheets based on multiple representations of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. The research utilized the Research and Development (R&D) model with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development stages, reaching the development stage in this study. Data were obtained from material expert and media expert validators. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to analyze the validity results. The Student Worksheets based on multiple representations of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials achieved an average validity percentage of 84.37% from material experts and 95% from media experts, categorizing them as very valid. These worksheets, focusing on the validity aspect, are effective in assisting students in understanding chemical concepts.
