Abstract

ABSTRACT The Jamasan Heirloom tradition is an activity that is inherent in the community, namely an activity of purifying heirlooms or relics of previous ancestors. This study will review the Jamasan Heirloom tradition in Tulungagung district starting from how this tradition runs, how the procedure is carried out, and discusses why this procession can only be done and seen by men only. The role of patriarchy is very visible in this Jamasan Heirloom tradition compared to the role of women or feminists. Feminist theology will also be involved in research discussions and supported by several feminist warrior figures. A phenomenological approach is used in this work to examine social phenomena using critical analysis. Based on field observations, interviews with informants (including people who adhere to the Jamasan tradition and local community leaders), and documentation, this research uses a qualitative descriptive technique. The results of this study indicate that in the Jamasan Heirloom tradition there is injustice or inequality between the roles and status of men and women where women are placed as a second class under men. ABSTRAK Tradisi Jamasan Pusaka merupakan suatu kegiatan yang melekat pada masyarakat yaitu suatu kegiatan penyucian benda-benda pusaka atau peninggalan nenek moyang terdahulu. Penelitian ini akan mengulas tradisi Jamasan Pusaka yang ada di kabupaten tulungagung mulai dari bagaimana tradisi Jamasan Pusaka ini berjalan dan bagaimana tata cara prosesinya serta membahas mengapa prosesi ini hanya boleh dilakukan dan dilihat oleh laki-laki saja. Peran patriarki sangat terlihat dalam tradisi Jamasan Pusaka ini dibandingkan peran perempuan atau kaum feminis. Teologi Feminis juga akan disangkut pautkan dalam pembahasan yang didukung oleh beberapa tokoh-tokoh pejuang feminis. Pendekatan fenomenologis digunakan dalam karya ini untuk mengkaji fenomena-fenomena sosial dengan menggunakan analisis secara kritis. Berdasarkan observasi lapangan, wawancara dengan informan (termasuk masyarakat yang menganut tradisi jamasan dan tokoh masyarakat setempat), serta dokumentasi, penelitian ini menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam tradisi Jamasan Pusaka terdapat ketidak adilan atau ketidak setaraan antara peran dan status laki-laki dengan kaum perempuan di mana perempuan diletakkan sebagai second class di bawah laki-laki.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana dakwah Kanjeng Jimat dalam menyebarkan agama Islam hingga berhasil diterima oleh masyarakat Berbek dan mampu membaur dengan budaya setempat yakni Hindu-Budha, serta mengidentifikasikan bukti-bukti peninggalannya. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahap, adapun empat tahapan tersebut adalah, yang pertama heuristik (pengumpulan sumber sejarah), yang kedua kritik sumber sejarah, yang ketiga interprestasi (penafsiran), dan yang keempat historiografi (penyusunan hasil penelitian). Masyarakat Berbek sebelum datangnya Islam kebanyakan adalah beragama Hindu-Budha, setelah kedatangan Kanjeng Jimat dan melakukan dakwah mengenalkan ajaran Islam, pelan-pelan masyarakat Berbek mulai membuka diri untuk menerima ajaran Islam. Hasil penelitian ini adalah mengindikasikan proses dakwah yang dilakukan Kanjeng Jimat di wilayah Berbek dan sekitarnya. Adapun bukti peninggalan dakwah Kanjeng Jimat yakni, masjid Yoni Al-Mubarok terletak di desa Kacangan, Berbek, Nganjuk, beduk, bencet berada di serambi masjid, dan makam Kanjeng Jimat terletak di barat masjid.

Abstract

Marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman, when it is said Ijab Qabul means the marriage is valid and ready to enter a new level of life (household). One of the Javanese customs that is carried out before the wedding is to determine or look for the lucky day of Weton or Neptu for the bride and groom based on Javanese Primbon. The determination of the wedding day is based on the traditions found in the Nglebeng Village community. In this study, we will discuss how the process of determining the wedding day is carried out in Nglebeng Village using Weton calculations and using Javanese Sholichin tatal. Javanese Tatal is a formula to find out what day, wuku and month it is permissible and appropriate to carry out a wedding celebration. Researchers used qualitative research methods and case study approaches. This study uses Max Weber's theory, namely rational action which is included in the type of traditional action. The results of this study are that the tradition of determining the lucky day in marriage carried out by Nglebeng Village residents is a habit carried out by the local community before the marriage contract.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the social construction of the Dermojayan village community towards the Demangan tomb pilgrimage phenomenon which then becomes an understanding, perception, and religious emotion to form a predisposition in carrying out their religious traditions. In order to obtain accurate data, this research uses a descriptive qualitative case study using a phenomenological approach. The grand theory in this study adheres to the theory of social construction analysis from Peter L Berger and Thomas Luckman (1967) which says that individual knowledge forms predispositions as part of social action. The results of this study indicate that the social construction that grows on the perpetrators of the Demangan tomb pilgrimage arises because of the values inherited by their ancestors. The community carries out tomb pilgrimages with the aim of conveying gratitude to their ancestors, expressing respect for their ancestors, offering prayers to obtain blessings, and as an embodiment of preserving the relics of the ancestors of the Dermojayan village. The social values contained in the phenomenon of the Demojayan village tomb pilgrims are manifested in a series of processions and offerings at the time of the tomb pilgrimage as a manifestation of social life inherited by the village ancestors

Abstract

The purpose of this study to describe, analyze, and interpret the perception of cultural values ​​in the ritual of the Mayang Twins. The type of research used is qualitative with phenomenological analysis methods. The grand theory in this study uses the theory of symbolic interactionism which was initiated by George Herbert Mead in 1934. Where he stated that the theory of symbolic interactionism sees the mind and self as part of human behavior that is part of interaction with other people. Interaction makes humans know the world and themselves. The results of this study prove that the millennial generation's perception of mayang twins appears after they experience and witness firsthand during the wedding procession. Mayang twins have a meaning as a symbol of obtaining off spring marked by the ngekarne "blooming" ritual. There is a symbolic interaction during the process of making mayang twins.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the strategy, implementation, and implications of entrepreneurial-based Islamic boarding school management in Pesantren Jawaahirul Hikmah Tumpuk, Besuki, Tulungagung. A qualitative study was conducted. The data were collected by interviewing 7 informants and observations. Data analysis was done logically and systematically following some steps including data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The results of the study showed that: First, the entrepreneurship education strategy used is students’ engagement in each stage of activity of entrepreneurship and designing meaningful learning. Second, the implementation of entrepreneurship education carried out by the Jawaahirul Hikmah Islamic boarding school in realizing institutional independence began with the implementation of the vision, mission and entrepreneurship education program as a guide for student creativity. Third, the implications of entrepreneurship education the pesantren were realized by subsidizing half of the students’ fee from the business profit.
